Chapter 124: A Quick Win
[As the strongest in your team, please type in the name of your team.]
Adam paused, staring at the blinking cursor on the system window.
He let out a quiet sigh.
'Team name…'
He wasn't the creative type.
Naming things like this always felt annoying...
Back in his last life, he usually left this to his squad members.
Now, he was forced to do it himself...
Just as he was about to type something random, notifications popped up in quick succession.
[Danyz has donated an F-tier gift]
[You have received +3 Soul Cores.]
[Danyz] : Name it Adam's Harem!
Adam's eyebrow twitched.
Another notification came instantly.
[CrispyDeath has donated an F-tier gift]
[You have received +4 Soul Cores.]
[CrispyDeath] : No, it should obviously be The Conduit and the Chosen Idiots!
Adam's lips tightened slightly. His viewers were enjoying this too much.
[Ocaro has donated an F-tier gift]
[You have received +3 Soul Cores.]
[Ocaro] : Can't it at least be something badass like Guardians of the Galaxy or The Avengers...?
Adam exhaled slowly, ignoring the chaos in his chat.
His teammates watched him, curious and nervous about what he'd type.
He thought for a moment.
His gaze was calm but distant.
Then, with a single movement, he typed in the name.
[Team Name Confirmed: Winners.]
The notification floated in front of his team members' faces.
Leila blinked blankly.
Cael's jaw dropped.
Kristoff just sighed with a hand on his forehead.
There was a long, heavy silence.
Even Adam's livestream chat froze for a moment, as if everyone was processing what they just read...
Xel'Shaar didn't react much, as though thoroughly impressed at his master's great naming sense.

[You have received +4 Soul Cores.]
[Sky_eater] : …Winners?? That's it???
[TurtleBB has donated an F-tier gift]
[You have received +4 Soul Cores.]
[TurtleBB] : Bro named his team like an NPC quest group.

[You have received +3 Soul Cores.]
[Thefartingbrotato] : If he ever has a kid, someone please stop him from naming them.
[A_LostWanderer2 has donated an F-tier gift]
[You have received +3 Soul Cores.]
[A_LostWanderer2] : Kid? You mean his exp farming partner?
[Frog Eater sighs]
[Frog Eater] : As the day goes on, these weirdos names keep getting weirder...
Adam ignored their comments as he closed the system window.
His expression was as calm and cold as usual, but a vein pulsed lightly on his temple.
Cael hesitated for a moment before opening his mouth.
"Uh… Captain, about the team name—"
Adam's sharp eyes flickered toward him.
Cael immediately shut up and nodded.
"Winners. Great name. Very fitting."
Leila giggled softly under her breath while Kristoff sighed again, shaking his head like he had already given up on trying to understand Adam's naming sense.
As the five-minute mark hit, the system notifications popped up one after another.
[Team Registration Complete.]
[Calculating matchups…]
Since there were 160 players in total, and each team consisted of 5 players, that meant there were 32 teams in the tournament.
And that also meant there would be 16 matches in the first round alone.
With each round cutting the number of teams in half, it would take 5 rounds in total before the final winners were decided.
Adam crossed his arms as he watched the announcements scroll before his eyes.
[Announcing first round competitors.]

Adam's eyes skimmed through the list of members of the team they were up against.
Some names were familiar from what Leila and Cael had told him earlier.
[All first-round battles will begin simultaneously.]
[Defeated teams who are still alive, or those who surrender before death, will be safely teleported out and placed in the spectator's lobby to await the tournament's conclusion.]
The system continued to explain.
These defeated teams wouldn't be allowed to re-enter the tournament.
Their only option was to watch until a winner was decided.
For them, this tournament was already over and they would have to wait till the floor resets to compete again.
Adam glanced at their first opponents.
Thunderstrike Alliance.
He scanned their list of members and frowned slightly.
He didn't recognize any of these names…
Not that it surprised him.
There were too many Stream Hunters in the Tower of Yxthar to remember everyone.
In his past life, about 22% of the human population was transported into the tower.
Of course, most of them stayed on the first floor, living as ordinary citizens after the government reformed it into a livable city for those who didn't want to climb.
Originally, the government tried to reform the second and third floors too.
But it was almost impossible.
The second floor always reset after one side won the war.
And as for the third floor, the Death Curse existed there.
Thinking about it made Adam frown.
'It's almost like the tower wanted to keep all the floors unhabitable for civilization aside from the first floor…'
His thoughts were interrupted by the system's announcement.
[First round will now begin.]
[Teleporting respective teams into isolated battling arenas…]
Colors twisted around Adam's vision as he felt himself pulled into another space.
When his surroundings settled, they stood in a huge circular arena.
Smooth stone ground stretched beneath them, and above was a massive black dome covering everything like a shell.
"Where is the light coming from…"
Leila muttered under her breath.
There was no sun, no lights around them.
Yet everything was bright, like daylight.
Adam didn't bother thinking about it.
Neither did the others.
This was the Tower of Yxthar where magic and monsters existed.
Logic rarely applied here.
In front of them, their five opponents from Thunderstrike Alliance appeared.
They looked around, scanning their surroundings with tense eyes.
Their leader paused as he spotted Adam and his team.
He went stiff immediately, recognition flashing in his eyes.
The system voice echoed again.
[The battle will begin in 5…]
Seeing their opponents ready, Adam's team moved into position quickly.
Leila stood at the back, gripping her staff tightly.
Cael and Xel'Shaar moved to each side, creating a protective triangle.
Kristoff stayed close to Leila, sword drawn to guard her.
And Adam walked forward, standing calmly at the very front.
[4…]
[3…]
[2…]
[1…]
[Begin!]
Just as Cael bent his knees to dash forward and strike first, another notification popped up.
[Enemy team has surrendered.]
