Multiverse's Ghost Rider

Chapter 196: Chapter 194: Homelander’s Son

"What did you say?" Homelander's expression grew severe.

"Hey, calm down! I just think that if I'm going to be your friend, I need to be completely honest with you, right? Black Noir always knew Soldier Boy was your father, and he also knew that Soldier Boy was imprisoned in Russia, but he never told you. That's not what a true friend does, is it?" Jon explained.

Homelander turned his head, waving a hand dismissively. "Go on."

"The Gravity ability user hero, he's actually working for me. And the Compound V he used? I stole it from Vought. My accomplice, The Deep—the former member of the Seven—was forced by me to sneak into Vought and steal the Compound V. Afterward, I dealt with him to make sure there wouldn't be any loose ends," Jon said, carefully revealing the story he had planned out.

"But why? Why kill those superheroes?" Homelander asked.

"Because of their despicable behavior," Jon replied gravely. "Their existence tarnished the purity of what we stand for. Think about it, just one Soldier Boy—sorry, can ruin Vought and damage the Seven's reputation. Now imagine hundreds of rogue superheroes out there. Vought can barely keep up with covering their messes. But if we step in and take care of them once and for all, Vought can keep replacing them with fresh heroes."

"Sure, we might have our flaws, but we're different. We're the Seven. We're better. Whatever we do, Vought will stand behind us. But those nobodies—they're not like us."

Homelander frowned. "But that could make superheroes less trusted. It might weaken the public's faith in us."

Jon nodded. "You're right. I didn't think of that at first. By the time I realized it, it was already too late, so I haven't done anything like that for some time."

Homelander nodded and then patted Jon on the shoulder. "It's alright, buddy. Everyone makes mistakes. I'll cover for you on this one. Where's that Gravity user? We'll pin it on him and say he went rogue."

"He's dead," Jon said, lowering his head. "He started to act out of line more and more, and I had no choice but to... take care of him."

"You did well. That's exactly what needed to be done," Homelander said. "Tomorrow, bring the body to me. I'll make a statement saying you accidentally killed him while trying to stop him."

Jon nodded. Every time he committed a crime, he did so using the form of a certain man. He'd kept that man locked in a basement, harvesting his hair to make Polyjuice Potion. All Jon had to do now was go and finish him off, then bring the body to Homelander.

As for eliminating rogue superheroes, Jon wasn't in a rush. He'd already killed enough for now—twenty of them, to be exact. While taking out more would always be beneficial, it was time to put this plan on hold for the moment.

Jon had also gathered information on over fifty other corrupt superheroes. Once he completed his main mission to kill Homelander, he could easily take out all fifty in a single day.

Jon then added, "Oh, by the way, there's something else I need to tell you. It's about your father."

"What is it?" Homelander asked.

Jon spoke candidly, "I think Crimson Countess's death was just the beginning. I believe Soldier Boy is going after his entire former team—including Black Noir. That's why Noir ran like a coward."

"But the good news is, this means we can predict his next move. That way, we can speed up your reunion with him."

Jon pulled out a tablet, showing the details of an elderly pair of siblings.

"TNT Twins. They were both members of Payback. They're the closest targets, in Vermont."

"So you're saying my father will head there next?" Homelander asked.

Jon nodded. "Exactly. We should head out immediately."

"No, no. Wait. I can't go see him just yet," Homelander replied.

"Why not? You should meet him right away—show him that he has a son, show him how exceptional you are!" Jon encouraged, thinking Homelander was just feeling shy.

But Homelander shook his head. "No, before that, I need to find someone else. I want to bring you along too. It's someone very important to me."

Jon paused, then immediately realized who Homelander was referring to.

He remembered from the original storyline that when Homelander first met Soldier Boy, he had brought along another person—his son, Ryan.

Previously, it had been mentioned that William Butcher and Homelander were mortal enemies. This was partly because Homelander had assaulted Butcher's wife, and Ryan was the child born from that assault.

But Jon acted as if he knew nothing, pretending to be excited. "Oh really? Who is it?"

"It's my son. You're going to like him." Homelander said with a smile.

A seemingly ordinary house—a mother and her son were playing with LEGO bricks in the yard.

It looked unassuming, but in reality, this place was heavily guarded, as it housed Homelander's son.

Suddenly, the woman felt something heavy land behind her. She turned to see Homelander descending from above, and right behind him, Phoenix Warrior, slowly descending with flames beneath his feet.

"Let me introduce you," Homelander said to the woman. "This is Phoenix Warrior, and this is Rebecca."

Phoenix Warrior stepped forward. "Nice to meet you."

Homelander barely acknowledged Rebecca before turning his attention to the boy. "And this here, this is my son, Ryan."

"Hey, buddy. How are you?" Homelander asked, smiling as he approached his son.

Ryan looked up, but then quickly turned his head away, choosing instead to focus on his LEGO set. It was clear he wasn't happy to see his father.

Homelander crouched down, his voice gentle. "Listen, I know what I did last time was wrong—terribly wrong. I want to promise you that I'll never do that again. I'll never push you off a roof, and I'll never hurt your mom again, okay?"

Ryan thought for a moment, then nodded slowly.

Homelander smiled, and then said, "Now, I need to take you to meet someone. Someone very important, to both you and me."
