Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 103: [103] Lady Aisha

Roy subtly scanned his surroundings but found no trace of anything related to a Campione.

'Aiwass, can you determine where the Campione Athena mentioned is?'

Since he couldn't find anything and Athena couldn't pinpoint the location either, Roy directly reached out to Aiwass through telepathy.

[That Campione is not in this world—more precisely, not in this timeline. She is returning from another time. This world is truly wondrous, to so easily open a path through the river of time.]

Sure enough, when encountering uncertain matters, one could always ask Aiwass. Although this Holy Guardian Angel didn't know everything nor could accomplish all things, most questions could find their answers with her.

'Understood. It seems the most troublesome Campione has appeared.'

Roy nodded slightly, confirming who the newcomer was.

Now that he knew it was Lady Aisha who had appeared here, he didn't need to be overly cautious. Though Lady Aisha's authorities were a chaotic mess, she was also the gentlest and kindest among all Campiones—and the weakest in terms of combat prowess.

"King, this is the Acropolis of Athens."

As Roy and his group strolled around, they arrived at the hill of the Acropolis in the heart of Athens.

The leader of Athens' magical association acted like an enthusiastic tour guide, introducing the sights to Roy.

"...This is the most outstanding architectural complex of ancient Greece, built to commemorate Athens' victory over Persian invaders. That temple is the Parthenon, the grandest shrine dedicated to the goddess Athena. This place can be said to symbolize Western culture!"

"...In ancient Greek mythology, Athena was born from the forehead of Zeus, the Sky Father. She taught humanity weaving, tailoring, carving, pottery-making, and painting. She is the goddess of war, wisdom, civilization, and craftsmanship, and later became the patron deity of Athens. Inside this temple stands the largest statue of Athena in all of Greece, crafted from gold and ivory."

The magician briefly introduced this world-famous landmark—the symbolic site of the goddess Athena—to Roy, then discreetly glanced at Athena, who stood beside him.

The magician's eyes held both reverence and fear. His fear stemmed from Athena being a Heretic God—though she was Athens' protector, her mere existence could bring calamity upon humanity. His reverence came from the fact that this was Athens, where magic was deeply intertwined with Greek mythology. The magician's association was practically a religious order devoted to Athena, and nearly all the magic he knew was related to her.

Now that he had seen Athena's true form, his admiration and anticipation nearly drove him mad.

Roy's legendary battle with Athena in the Alps had already spread throughout the mystical world. Naturally, everyone assumed Roy had emerged victorious and usurped the authority of the most ancient Earth Mother Goddess.

As for why Athena was accompanying Roy, the magician found it unsurprising. After all, Black Prince Alexander Gascoigne possessed an authority called Faceless Queen, which he had usurped from the goddess Melusine. When activated, this authority allowed the Black Prince to summon the mermaid queen Melusine as a familiar to fight for him.

In the magician's view, Roy's authority usurped from Athena must be similar—activating it would allow Athena to fight for him. As for why Roy could summon Athena even outside of battle, that was beyond the magician's comprehension.

Whether it was Athena or Solomon, Roy had given all the magicians of this world a false impression—leading them to believe he had obtained Clairvoyance from Solomon and, even more erroneously, that he had slain Athena.

There was a vast difference between the authority to summon Athena as a familiar and the goddess Athena herself. If anyone truly believed Athena was merely a familiar summoned by Roy, they would suffer a terrible loss—for this was the true form of the mightiest war goddess, Athena!

"Aside from the Temple of Athena, the most famous landmark in Athens is the Temple of Zeus. Would you like to visit there, Your Majesty~?"

The magician spoke cautiously, stealing a glance at Athena. After all, mythology made it clear that Athena and Zeus did not have a good relationship. Moreover, the Sky Father Zeus was the very one who had caused Athena, an ancient Earth Mother Goddess, to fall into the form of a serpent-dragon.

Sure enough, at the mention of Zeus, Athena's expression darkened. Though she called herself the daughter of Zeus, that was merely the truth of mythology—something she could not refute. But to say Athena revered or worshipped Zeus was absolutely impossible.

"We'll skip the Temple of Zeus," Roy said firmly, tightening his grip on Athena's hand and pulling her closer. Though the goddess was reluctant, since Roy didn't push further, she allowed it.

The magician watched Roy with admiration. While intimate contact with a goddess might sound enviable, knowing the true nature of Heretic Gods—that they were synonymous with calamity—and still daring to be so close could only be described as audacious. Especially when these two were a Campione and a Heretic God.

"I recall one version of the myth where Hippomenes sought Aphrodite's help to win Atalanta. The goddess of love gave him golden apples to succeed, but Hippomenes forgot to thank her. In her anger, Aphrodite lured him and Atalanta to Zeus' temple, where they defiled the King of Gods, leading Zeus to transform them into lions as eternal punishment. Could that temple be this one?" Roy asked lightly, well-versed in ancient myths.

The magician chuckled awkwardly. "Myth and history are so intertwined that the truth is hard to discern. Whether this is the very temple where Atalanta defiled Zeus... no one can say for sure."

He dared not deceive Roy, the King. On matters beyond his knowledge, he could only speak honestly, neither confirming nor denying.

"That does sound like something Aphrodite and my father Zeus would do," Athena interjected, her voice dripping with disdain for Aphrodite and clear distaste for Zeus.

This time, Roy didn't respond. Even he couldn't assert the truth about the goddesses in myth. Whether Aphrodite truly lived so wantonly—who could know without meeting her in person?

"Roy, that foul stench has become unbearable. I long to eradicate it now."

Athena suddenly stopped in her tracks. She tugged at Roy's hand, her beautiful and adorable face filled with an almost irrational frenzy. The Athenian magician who witnessed this nearly wet himself in fear. He was terrified that the goddess Athena might erupt into a Heretic God right in this city. After all, this was Athens—Athena's city. No one could be certain just how powerful Athena would become here.

Erica and Liliana also tensed up. Though they didn't know what was happening, Athena's expression was definitely not right.

"Look at me, Athena!"

Roy commanded sharply, causing Athena to instinctively raise her head and meet his gaze.

When Athena saw Roy's face, her amber eyes flickered with momentary disorientation before gradually regaining clarity.

This was Roy's ability, the Face of God. He used this power to alter himself, ensuring he no longer carried the scent of a Campione that could drive Heretic Gods into madness. And as long as Athena didn't resist, he could also use this authority to temporarily suppress her innate revulsion toward Campiones.

"Sigh... I feel much better now."

The now lucid Athena exhaled softly, smiling sweetly as she said, "...You did well, Roy. I can now say with absolute certainty that you and I can coexist like this."

Roy chuckled but didn't respond. Instead, he turned to his two knights and said, "...Let's go, Erica, Lily. We're going to meet Lady Aisha."

"Lady Aisha?!"

Erica, Liliana, and the Athenian magician exclaimed in unison.
