Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 117: [117] The Fall of the Demon King

Drawing the bow, nocking the arrow, and releasing it—Athena's archery was executed in one fluid motion. The bow in her hand was no ordinary weapon either. As the most renowned goddess in the world, every item and weapon Athena possessed was a powerful divine artifact.

The arrow transformed into a blinding streak of starlight, shooting from the earth toward the sky—just like the divine arrow of Arash the Archer, which fell like a shooting star—piercing straight through the Black Prince's chest.

'Why is Athena following us!'

Gascoigne was puzzled. Both he and Roy had used the Godspeed authority to travel from America to Canada in such a short time. Could Athena also possess the Godspeed authority?

It wasn't until the Black Prince saw the swarm of snakes emerging from the ground that he realized the truth. Athena hadn't kept up with their speed because she possessed the same authority—rather, as an Earth Mother Goddess, she had teleported through the veins of the earth, using Roy as a beacon to match his Godspeed.

But even knowing how Athena had caught up was meaningless now, for the arrow was already nearing his chest.

Gascoigne was certain that if this arrow pierced his heart, he would suffer grievous injuries. In this situation, with no escape to heaven or earth, it would mean certain death.

Yet, he had no way to evade. His strongest authority, Godspeed, was restricted by Roy, and now Gascoigne was nearly at his wit's end.

"Even so, I won't let you off easy!"

With a ruthless resolve, the Black Prince did not dodge. Instead, he charged straight toward the arrow while unleashing his most formidable combat authority—The Judging Furies!

This was an authority Gascoigne had usurped from the Greek Furies, the Erinyes. It summoned the three goddesses to create an avenging domain, reflecting all inflicted damage back onto the attacker. However, this authority had one major flaw—Gascoigne himself had to endure the same wounds.

Originally, this was a trump card meant to be used after the enemy unleashed their ultimate attack, much like Roy's Light of the Right, to rebound the opponent's finishing move and secure victory. But Gascoigne knew that if he didn't activate the avenging domain now, he might never get another chance.

Thud—

The arrow pierced Gascoigne's chest, but at the same time, the avenging domain took effect. An identical arrow shot back toward Athena.

"Alecto, Megaera, Tisiphone—so it's you three after all."

Athena watched coldly as the three goddesses summoned by the Black Prince appeared. As the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, she naturally recognized the Furies.

Standing gracefully atop a giant serpent like a blooming buttercup, her amber serpentine eyes fixed on the avenging goddesses, the faint smile on her lips spoke of her utter composure.

Facing the reflected arrow, Athena had long been prepared. Raising her Aegis of Medusa, she effortlessly deflected the projectile.

"Gascoigne, this Judging Furies is your last resort, isn't it? Summoning the Furies early and hiding them nearby to rebound fatal attacks—truly a cunning and effective tactic. But if your setup is known in advance, this authority becomes utterly useless."

Under Roy's Clairvoyance, all of the Black Prince's moves had long been known to him. That was why Roy had Athena fire that seemingly insignificant arrow—its power wasn't great, but it was enough to severely wound Gascoigne, forcing him to use this authority. Though The Judging Furies was formidable, its very strength came with limitations. After using this authority, Gascoigne couldn't employ it a second time in a short span.

While The Judging Furies couldn't reflect all attacks—unlike Roy's Light of the Right, which had no limits—an attack surpassing its threshold could easily shatter the avenging domain. However, doing so would still rebound the maximum attack the authority could endure.

Naturally, Roy wouldn't choose a harder path when an easier victory was at hand.

Now, with the avenging domain activated, it only reflected Athena's ordinary arrow, rendering the authority practically useless.

The Black Prince, an arrow embedded in his chest, remained silent. He was gradually finding it harder to breathe, coughing up blood with every gasp. From start to finish, this Campione, skilled in schemes and deceit, had been outmaneuvered and toyed with by Roy—a tragedy of the highest order.

No matter the conspiracy or strategy, the most fundamental requirement was information. Roy's Clairvoyance granted him all knowledge of Gascoigne, while Gascoigne could glean nothing about Roy. It was this vast disparity in intelligence that left him cornered at every turn, humiliated and powerless to retaliate.

This was precisely the wisdom of Solomon as Roy saw it!

"It's over, Black Prince! This is your end!"

With a wave of Roy's hand, the angelic host in the sky surged forth like a torrent, forming a killing force that charged toward Gascoigne.

Athena, standing atop the mountain, merely lifted her head slightly. The dragon-serpents, brimming with cruelty and bloodlust, took to the skies to join the slaughter.

Surrounded by the angelic and dragon-serpent armies, Gascoigne fled frantically in all directions. The three Avenging Goddesses he summoned were likewise swallowed by the tide of soldiers. Though the three goddesses could still serve as familiars after activating the avenging domain, against the combined might of angels and dragon-serpents, they could do little but lament their helplessness.

Yet, as a Campione capable of creating miracles, Gascoigne refused to surrender even in dire straits. Amidst the slashing and biting of the angelic and dragon-serpent hordes, he dragged his grievously wounded body and chanted another spell, summoning a massive, mermaid-like monstrosity.

This was his other authority—The Faceless Queen!

Gascoigne's authorities were almost entirely focused on escape, summoning, and traps, lacking any direct offensive capabilities.

Before Roy could act upon seeing the summoned mermaid, Athena—clad in armor, shield in her left hand and blade in her right—leapt from the head of the giant serpent. Her right-hand sword traced a dazzling arc, and with a single strike, she severed the head of The Faceless Queen!

A mere half-human, half-serpent monster stood no chance against Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war.

Witnessing Athena's martial skills that had reached divine levels, Roy couldn't help but sigh in admiration. If these techniques weren't inherent to the War God's authority—something Athena was born with rather than cultivated from mortal combat arts—and thus impossible to teach, Roy would have long since become her disciple.

With the demise of the Faceless Queen and the Erinyes torn apart by the army of angels and dragon-serpents, the Black Prince truly had no tricks left up his sleeve.

"Roy!"

The solemn war goddess called out sharply. Roy nodded slightly to acknowledge her before coordinating with Athena to flank the Black Prince from front and back, simultaneously activating his mystic eyes.

Serpent pupils and double pupils fixed upon Gascoigne.

With the Eyes of Medusa before him and the Eyes of Sodom behind, the Black Prince's body underwent bizarre transformations. His limbs began turning to stone from the front while the rear portions crystallized into salt pillars. In the blink of an eye, the already exhausted Campione lost all mobility.

Roy approached Gascoigne leisurely from behind, raising the Sword of Judgment. Without pity or hesitation, he calmly plunged the crimson cruciform longsword into the Black Prince's chest. The sword's curse power erupted, shredding the Campione's internal organs.

The Campione, the Demon King of Earth Alexander Gascoigne—Dead!
