Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 44: [44] Your Life Is Now Conscripted

There is a story in the Bible where God decided to test Abraham, saying to him, "...Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will show you."

When Abraham heard God's command, he was utterly stunned, but he dared not disobey. In the end, he resolved to follow God's instructions.

Just as Abraham had prepared everything and steeled himself to slay his own son with a knife, an angel called out from heaven, "...Abraham, do not lay a hand on the boy. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld your only son from me."

And in the Book of Zerubbabel, Michael once answered, "...I am the one who saved Isaac and mourned for him."

Roy's ability, the 'Holy Right,' originates from this myth and is the only one among his seven authorities related to healing.

Because this ability is merely one of his authorities and not a complete one, it comes with numerous limitations.

Unlike Lady Aisha's authority, which can be freely activated as long as she has magical power, Roy's ability can only be used once per day.

However, due to this restriction, its effects are extraordinarily potent. While Lady Aisha's authority can revive someone as long as they have a breath left, it is powerless against 'curses' or 'negative conditions' like those afflicting Alice.

When used on others, Roy's authority can perform miracles—healing any injury, removing all negative conditions, and forming protective barriers. When used on himself, it allows Roy to recover from even the most severe injuries, including near-fatal ones, instantly restoring him to peak condition by temporarily suppressing all wounds. Only after the authority's duration expires do the injuries resurface.

This is, in essence, a life-saving ability in dire situations.

Roy named this ability—'Isaac's Redemption'!

For the authority to take effect on others, mere physical contact is sufficient. The reason Roy chose to exchange bodily fluids was simply because he wanted to.

"Mm…"

Alice whimpered, pressing her pale hand against Roy in an attempt to push him away. But the girl, who had been bedridden like a vegetable, lacked the strength. After struggling futilely a couple of times, she could only resign herself to Roy's demands.

Erica and Liliana stood by, utterly shocked, never expecting Roy to do such a thing. They blushed and fidgeted awkwardly, with Liliana's chaotic mind even conjuring up scenes reminiscent of a domineering CEO romance novel.

The overwhelming scent of the man, made Alice's heart race, her mind growing hazy from lack of oxygen. Beyond Roy's presence, what she felt most acutely was the extraordinary 'magical power' flowing into her body.

This power was entirely different from ordinary mana—not just in quality and quantity, but also in the mysterious way it functioned, beyond Alice's comprehension. She knew this was the authority of a Campione, a divine feat stolen from the gods, something mortals could scarcely decipher. And now, this power was rapidly restoring her body.

Her weakened physique, burdened by excessive spiritual energy, began to regain flexibility, like rusted gears freshly oiled and smoothly set into motion once more.

Never before had Alice felt her heart beat so strongly, her mind so clear. Her slender wrists finally mustered enough strength to push Roy away just before she suffocated.

"Haah… haah…"

"Roy… King, don't you think this is utterly shameless?"

Alice scolded indignantly, her breath ragged as she pressed a hand to her chest, slowly steadying herself.

Then, Alice was astonished to find that her furious roar was full of vigor, completely unlike her previous frail state that resembled a critically ill patient.

Her limbs had regained strength, and she could even feel her blood flowing swiftly through her body. Even her once-pale hands now had a healthy flush.

Though she was still somewhat weaker than an average person, like someone suffering from anemia, the overall change from her previous near-death condition was immense. At the very least, she could now eat, drink, and walk around like an ordinary person.

This was the first time in six years—since she had collapsed onto her bed—that Alice had felt such vitality surging through her.

Roy didn't respond directly to Alice's remark. Instead, he narrowed his eyes as if savoring something and smacked his lips. "...Very unrefined. It seems this was Princess Alice's first time. I had assumed, given your relationship with Alexander Gascoigne, that you two would have already been intimate."

His teasing words only further irritated Alice. She retorted indignantly, "...Please do not compare me to that troublesome man, King Roy."

"Oh? You're called the 'White Princess,' and that Gascoigne is known as the 'Black Prince.' I thought you two were a match made in heaven."

Roy feigned surprise, though his expression was clearly mocking.

"I find it quite frustrating as well, but since everyone refers to us that way, there's little I can do to refute it... Besides, if I truly were close to Alexander, your earlier actions would have been tantamount to declaring war on him."

Now that she had regained her strength, Alice became even more sharp-tongued.

"I don't particularly care about declaring war on him. In fact, if you really were intimate with him, I might have been even more excited. As a demon king, isn't it my role to steal away a princess in love and drive both her and her beloved to despair?"

"...That Gascoigne... His personality is far too cautious—so much so that he stands out even among Campiones. Do you think he's watching us right now, agonizing over whether my actions were just a ploy to lure him out, while also bitterly envying me for taking Princess Alice's first kiss?"

Roy even glanced around theatrically, as if Alexander Gascoigne were hiding in some corner, too afraid to show himself.

"You really are..."

Alice didn't know whether to laugh or cry. What could she even say to someone so shameless?

Meanwhile, Erica and Liliana's gazes toward Roy had noticeably shifted.

'What a pervert!'

Alice muttered under her breath before forcing herself to remain calm. "...King Roy, forcing yourself on a girl against her wishes will only make her despise you. While some may enjoy being dominated, I am certainly not one of them."

"I don't care whether you hate me or like me, whether you're willing or unwilling. I am the Demon King, one who runs rampant across the land and does as he pleases. Even if I were to declare right now that you are my woman, that I intend to start a harem collecting all kinds of beautiful girls in this modern era, no one would bat an eye—because that is my right!"

After pausing briefly, Roy shrugged and continued, "...Well then, now that Princess Alice can move freely, you no longer have any reason to refuse me. Your future life has been conscripted by me!"
