Chapter 60: [60] Right Hand is Invincible
The massive crimson greatsword descended like divine retribution, its unfathomable majesty staining Ena's vision blood-red.
"Chihayaburu—Kamiyo no Iware—Koete—Ima ni Na o—Tote Naku!"
At the critical moment, she chanted the final verse of the divine possession incantation. The Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi in her hand surged with divine power, barely intercepting the attack at the last second.
BOOOOOOM—————!
A deafening explosion erupted. Ena felt an irresistible force slam into her arms, buckling her knees. She collapsed onto one knee, her dark blue school stockings tearing to reveal smooth, pale calves now scraped bloody from the impact. But compared to these external wounds, her internal injuries were far worse—blood trickled from her nose and mouth as the divine energy sustaining her abruptly dissipated, leaving her utterly drained.
The colossal crimson sword's residual force continued unabated, cleaving straight through the traditional two-story houses behind Haruna and leaving a deep scar across Tokyo's alleyways.
RUMBLE—————!
Dust clouds billowed as buildings collapsed. With just one swing, the entire block had been reduced to ruins.
Tap—tap—tap—!
Clear, firm footsteps echoed from ahead. The girls looked up to see a young man emerging from the haze of smoke, his apparent age not much older than theirs.
His cardinal-red robes were tattered—damage sustained from his battle with Marquis Voban. Roy's exposed skin bore crisscrossing wounds and streaks of blood. The fight against the most ancient of demon kings had left him heavily injured, though these were merely superficial wounds, not enough to hinder his movements.
Most striking was the massive golden hand extending from Roy's right shoulder, gripping a blood-red cruciform longsword. The earlier slash had been delivered by this third hand.
Roy's Holy Right possessed the ability to enhance other authorities. However, since this technique could only be used once every seven days, its authority-boosting function was usually impractical. Only now, after resolving Marquis Voban with Light of the Right, did this third hand truly manifest its utility.
Currently, Roy was manipulating the Sword of Judgment with his third hand. By channeling more magical power into it, he could extend the blade to a kilometer in length, capable of cleaving mountains with a single strike. But after his fierce battle with Marquis Voban, Roy's remaining magical energy was sparse. Moreover, facing a girl like Ena Seishuuin hardly required him to expend much energy to effortlessly resolve the situation.
"Campione! A god-slayer..."
Ena Seishuuin knelt on one knee, breathing heavily. A gash on her forehead bled profusely, forcing one eye shut. Such was the power of a Campione—even at his weakest, with minimal magical energy remaining, Roy could defeat a powerful hime-miko wielding divine artifacts with nothing more than a casual wave of his hand.
"A Campione..."
Upon seeing Roy, Yuri Mariya's teeth chattered, her eyes brimming with terror, dread, revulsion, and countless other emotions. Her legs felt as if weighted with lead, making even a single step forward an ordeal. From Roy, she sensed the same aura as Marquis Voban—cruelty, brutality, ruthlessness, and unimaginable strength.
"My King!"
Erica and Liliana were overjoyed at Roy's arrival.
"Please forgive Erica for being unable to properly greet your arrival in her current state. And please pardon mine and Lily's failure—we couldn't even handle such a trivial matter, forcing you to intervene personally."
Struggling to her feet, Erica bowed her head in shame.
Liliana rushed to support Erica, while Ena Seishuuin no longer had the strength to stop her.
"If punishment is due, let it fall upon me! This was my mistake. Erica gave her all—please do not blame her!"
Liliana steadied Erica's severely wounded, faltering form with one hand, likewise lowering her head in apology.
Roy turned his gaze to Erica. The once radiant and proud young girl now looked utterly miserable—her dazzling golden hair was disheveled, and some of the sword wounds on her body were so deep they reached the bone. Despite facing near-fatal injuries, this fourteen-year-old girl didn't cry out in pain, instead enduring it with sheer willpower. Roy couldn't bring himself to be too harsh with her.
His tone softened as he spoke, "...To have held your ground against Marquis Voban's Authority to this extent, Erica, you've already done remarkably well. In fact, this feat could even rival your uncle's valor when he faced the Divine Beast in the entire magical world. I won't blame you for this failure—instead, I'll praise your courage."
"...However, the fact remains that you and Liliana failed your mission. I am a man who rewards and punishes fairly. Once you've recovered, I will mete out your punishment."
When he mentioned punishment, Roy's gaze carried a strange glint, and his tone took on a suggestive edge.
"I am willing to accept any punishment from you, my King!"
Erica didn't notice Roy's odd expression, but she could tell from his tone that he wasn't overly concerned about their mission's failure, so she let out a quiet sigh of relief.
"That hand... What in the world is that?"
Ena Seishuuin stared intently at the eerie hand on Roy's right shoulder. The moment her gaze landed on it, she felt a chilling dread, as if she were witnessing something indescribable—her very mind teetered on the brink of collapse from sheer terror.
"What is this hand? This hand is a 'miracle' capable of wiping out humanity with a mere flick!"
Roy replied with leisurely confidence.
"That's impossible!"
Hearing his explanation, both Ena Seishuuin and the immobilized Yuri Mariya paled drastically. Even Erica and Liliana were at a loss—despite being knights, they had never seen Roy's so-called Light of the Right before.
"Why wouldn't it be possible? Never underestimate a man's right hand. Even an ordinary man can effortlessly wipe out hundreds of millions of humans with a single stroke."
Roy spoke with a solemn expression, yet his words were anything but.
The four girls present froze for a moment. However, given Japan and Italy's robust sex education, despite their young age, they immediately grasped the underlying meaning of Roy's words.
Liliana flushed red and stammered, "...M-my King, p-please... be mindful of the occasion. This is a battlefield—such... such risqué jokes are hardly appropriate!"
Though Liliana had lived in Italy for a long time, she was of Eastern European descent and hadn't inherited the Italians' fiery passion. In contrast, Erica remained composed, though for some reason, Roy's joke reminded her of his earlier mention of punishment, stirring an inexplicable unease within her.
Roy fell silent, inwardly reminding himself to refrain from such jokes in the future—lest he end up following in his father Aleister's footsteps as a lecherous old man with a penchant for dirty humor.
Then, his gaze sharpened as he activated the Eyes of Sodom, directing the Authority through his eyes toward Ena Seishuuin.
The injured girl's expression changed drastically. The Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi in her hand automatically protected its master, the surge of magical power temporarily shielding Ena from that piercing gaze.
"Guh—"
Suddenly, a sword of light pierced through Ena from behind. The girl only felt a sharp pain in her abdomen before spitting out a mouthful of blood. The Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi slipped from her grasp and clattered to the ground. Staring blankly at the blade protruding from her stomach, she muttered in disbelief, "...Where did this sword come from..."
Before she could finish speaking, she felt a chilling sensation at her neck—two identical swords of light were now pressed against her throat. Unbeknownst to her, over a dozen angels had appeared around her.
Each angel pointed their weapons at her, ready to strike at the slightest movement, ensuring her swift decapitation.
Every single one of these angels possessed strength no less than that of a Grand Knight. In this world, a Grand Knight was already among the pinnacle of magician combatants. Yet Roy could effortlessly summon hundreds of such angels—such was the absurdity of a Campione.
The fallen Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi seemed to possess a will of its own. Sensing danger, it swiftly sprang from the ground, attempting to tear open a portal to the Netherworld and escape.
At that moment, the right hand on Roy's right shoulder loosened its grip, the blood-red cruciform sword vanishing. The Third Hand stretched out like rubber, extending dozens of meters in an instant, seizing the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi in its grasp.
"Trying to run? Not a chance!"
With a thought from Roy, the hand clenched tightly. A grating screech of twisting metal echoed as the famed divine weapon of Japanese mythology was crushed into pieces by the Third Hand.
