Chapter 116: The Cursed Monkey
Lord Burrhen cut through the sky like an arrow, the wind howling past as he carried Sett and the others. Below, the desert stretched endlessly, dunes rolling like frozen waves under the scorching sun.
Then, with a powerful flap of his wings—
BOOM!
They landed. A ripple ran through the sand, but nothing seemed unusual. Just another lifeless stretch of desert.
Yet—something was different. The air was cool.
Sett dropped from Burrhen's back, his boots sinking into the sand. He ran a hand through the grains—dry, but oddly damp. His brows eased.
It was here.
Zarah huffed. "The air's nice, but where's the Tomb? Let's go—"
"Shut up," Zainah snapped. "Don't distract him."
Sett ignored them. He clenched his fist and struck the ground.
BOOM!
The desert shattered. Sand exploded outward, a shockwave rolling through the dunes. When the dust settled—
A structure was exposed. Small. Coffin-shaped. A door to something buried deep.
Sett pried it open, revealing a gateway.
Faint golden light flickered from within, illuminating what lay beyond—a temple. Towering statues of demonic creatures. Ornate bells. The gleam of ancient wicks that were still alight.
Sett squinted. This is C-tier as well.
"How long do you think I need to beat this Tomb?" Sett asked.
Zarah hummed. "With big bro's army, I'd say ten minutes?"
"No," Zainah said, crossing her arms. "Summoning the army, building momentum, taking down enemies, integrating them—it all takes time."
Sett raised a brow. "How long, then?"
Zainah hesitated. "An hour?"
"Approximately."
Without another word, they stepped into the gateway.
The moment they crossed—
Everything changed.
The dry desert air vanished, replaced by musty air of a long abandoned temple.
A heavy silence pressed down on them.
They stood in the heart of an ancient temple, swallowed in deep shadow. The walls, once orderly and saintly white, were now blackened with soot.
The temperature dropped to critical low—as cold as the lands of ice.
Ancient wicks flickered to life one by one around them.
A bell tolled in the distance, slow and heavy.
Sett exhaled, his breath misting slightly.
His gaze swept the chamber.
Sett closed his eyes. "Ah, a unique Tomb from another World," he said seriously. "This is not a place from our world. We can't judge this place with our normal standards."
"What do you mean, big bro?" Zarah gulped.
"The earlier C-tier Tomb was a Tomb that was still part of our world. The sea, the Wooden Man Guardian, all of that was still part of our world. Maybe they might not have been from the same continent as us, but they were from the same world."
Zarah gulped. "And this Tomb?"
"This Tomb—"
A keening scream.
"—it is Otherworldly."
Otherworldly.
Zainah clutched her little sister's hand. Then, she looked at Sett worriedly. "What will be here?"
Sett's gaze roamed around the place before coming to rest on the sisters. "We can predict Tombs from our world, because we know what kind of abilities our world has. We only need to be worried about a few things. But other worlds have things our world can only dream of."
"Like what?"
"Like me." Lord Burrhen said with a groggy voice beside Zarah's ear.
The color drained out of the girl's face—she became absolutely still.
She stiffly turned around.
Lord Burrhen clutched his own face.
Sett frowned and stared at Zarah, then said, "Girl, kill yourself."
Then, he clutched his own face.
Zainah stared at it all in abject horror.
Then, she shouted at Sett, "Sett, kill yourself."
"What?"
"Zarah, come here and kill me."
What?
"Hehehe!" A chuckle escaped from some hidden corner. "An intriguing bunch has walked into my temple. Hahahaha!"
Sett stared intently at one corner.
"Is this your power?" he asked. "Controlling other people's mouth?"
A creature walked out of a hole in the ceiling.
It was a monkey.
"What a terrifying enemy that has appeared!" the monkey touched its head. "You understood this monkey well."
Sett stared at it in intrigue.
His system scanned it and he read through the contents in the span of a second.
[Monkey King of the Musson Temple]

Divine Blessing?
As expected, it was neither an Axiom Holder or a Tomb Raider. This was another world's timeline, and obviously, other world's did not have the same Life Pathways that his own world did.
Sett stared at the monkey with glinting golden eyes.
Did it just use the Body Manipulation Divine Blessing to manipulate my mouth?
Sett became incredibly wary.
After all, its second ability—Bell of Musson—could stun anyone.
Not to mention that this thing had a body just as strong as Sett's own.
"Are you the Guardian of this Tomb?" he asked.
"Tomb?" The Monkey King cocked its head. "If you mean this Temple, yes, I am the protector. Indeed, this scion is burdened with the mission of killing anyone who stepped in here—so, we are enemies as well."
"Why are you burdened?"
The Monkey King sniffed. Then moved aside.
Silver, who had been ambushing him from the back, missed the mark.
"An invisible enemy!!" The Monkey King said in alarm. "How dangerous!"
Sett's face darkened.
The Monkey King smiled at him. "I like these moments a lot, you know? The moment when someone schemes against you and fails. The sight of their faces darkening is always so funny. They almost look like monkeys who lost their bananas."
Sett smiled.
"I like that sensation as well, but you don't seem to be in a mood to enjoy yourself, my friend."
The Monkey's eyes lit up, then, it sighed. "I am so lonely in this temple. In fact, the only time I get to see someone alive is once in ten blue moons. So, I'd have preferred to keep you alive, but sadly, my body is cursed by the Divine."
"Cursed by the Divine?"
"Indeed. I am cursed to die if I let anyone who saw me live for more than a day. Thus, I am just…" it chuckled to itself, then looked around while making irritated noises. Then, it sighed and looked back at Sett.
"The God of this temple is no god! He is evil! He is a demon! Musson, you disgusting God! I piss on your statue everyday! Ahhh!"
