MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM

Chapter 111: Bound

Bound

"What am I going to do with you?" Christopher mumbled as he observed the vibrant Shards that would create quite the extraordinary weapon once put together.

However, between Scarlet and Norn, he had all the power and versatility he could need when it came to weapons.

Reforging it seemed… redundant. And giving it to his subordinates was also pointless since it didn't match any of their fighting styles, and he had already given them weapons that matched their current states.

Still, he wasn't one to waste resources, and the Legend Sword was definitely a beautiful work of craftsmanship and held a powerful legacy, despite its less than ideal past.

Still, all this didn't change the fact that Christopher had no idea as to what to do with the weapon.

'What to do, what to do.' His head moved from side to side as he contemplated.

There were many possibilities but none of them really seemed to appeal to him.

But he wasn't keen on giving up because again, the Legend Sword was an incredible weapon, and was the only other artifact at the Apex rank that he possessed.

As he mused, his senses immediately latched on to something, or rather, someone.

"Your Disciple is approaching. Master." Prism said softly, Christopher catching a glimpse of her form in one of the many reflections in the room.

'Oh?' He tilted his head.

"Enter." He said, clearly seeing Titus raise his hand to knock on the door, but freezing when he heard Christopher's voice.

He slowly opened the door and peeked inside. Christopher rolled his eyes.

"Come in. Don't be acting all shy. You're older than that." Christopher said dismissively, though he questioned internally.

'Is he though? I don't think he's 18 yet. Meh.' He resisted a shrug and stared at Titus who fully entered and bowed slightly.

"Master." He said respectfully before straightening.

Christopher just nodded and gestured for him to speak.

Titus opened his mouth and lingered, seeming reluctant to say what was on his mind. However, after a few seconds, he sighed and decided to speak.

However at that moment, a shine suddenly caught the attention of the two.

Both of them looked to the workbench that Christopher was on, and surprisingly, the Shards of the Legend Sword were glowing.

And without warning, they all rose and shot forward towards Titus.

Christopher narrowed his eyes and the tattoo that represented Scarlet on his arm glowed. However, he paused at the last moment.

'Right, the Sword is loyal to keep after I took it in here. And I sense no nefarious intent from it.' He lowered his hand and watched.

Meanwhile Titus looked on in shock as the Shards approached him faster than he could even react. And by the time he did, they were already upon him.

However, they didn't strike him. Instead, in a line they all started to fly around him.

"What the…!?" He was definitely startled.

The Shards Kept on spinning and soon moved and began to spin around his right arm, and as they did, the ring they created grew smaller and smaller.

"Don't pull away." Christopher said calmly as Titu was about to move his hand away. The boy stared at him with wide eyes, but seeing the usual calm and nonchalant expression on his Master's face made him relax slightly.

So he steeled himself and let the Shards do their thing.

Soon the rin of Shards had shrunk into a ring of Incandescent light, and a moment later, it sank into Titus' wrist.

His eyes widened as he felt like he'd been hit by a bolt of electricity and he gasped.

Energy poured through his veins and he gritted his teeth, not really from agony, but just the sheer amount of energy that was flowing through him.

At the same time, a strange tattoo began to appear on his wrist. It looked like a Sword, actually it was a Sword, But it looked broken apart, its Shards just shy of being able to come back together.

After a few moments, Titus fell to his knees, gasping with sweat dripping down his head.

Meanwhile, Christopher was just looking on with fascination.

'It bound itself to him. Interesting.' He mused as Titus slowly got back to his feet.

"M-Master… what was that?" He asked, still looking out of it.

At that, Christopher smiled.

"Well Titus. Congratulations, you have been chosen by the Legend Sword to be its wielder." Hearing this, Titus' eyes widened.

"Wh-What?!" He exclaimed and Christopher nodded.

"Mhm. Oh and don't worry, it won't try and take over your consciousness." After that, Christopher let Titus allow the shock to wash over him. After all, something like this happening so suddenly would render almost anyone speechless, and Christopher wasn't about to be like one of those masters in novels that would leave their confused disciples to their own devices when they are stunned by something. Moreover, Christopher was curious.

After a while, Titus calmed down and looked at the tattoo on his wrist with a complicated gaze, obviously, his mind was spinning rapidly.

"Why don't you summon it?" Christopher asked calmly and Titus looked up at him before staring back down at the tattoo.

Then, he closed his eyes and concentrated.

A moment later, a single Shard among the ones that made up the tattoo shone before a brilliant Incandescent Sword appeared in Titus' hand.

It was a slender blade very reminiscent of the one Titus was used to using and gave off a strong Aura. However, Christopher cocked his head.

'Oh? It's only a percentage of its actual abilities.' He realised as he watched Titus look at the blade with wide eyes.

Then he stared at the tattoo on his wrist.

From what he could tell, bound weapons that resided within their owners left a tattoo on a part of their body, and when they were summoned, this tattoo would disappear.

This could be seen with himself where Norn and Scarlet had imprinted themselves on his upper arm.

He had also noticed it on Titus' brother, Curtis, and some other people.

However, in Titus' case, he noticed that only a small Shard had vanished and the rest of the tattoo was still there. And it was safe to assume that the small Shard that had vanished was what made up the weapon Titus was holding right now. And the Aura it emits, conveniently matches the one Titus emits as well.

'So it understands that he can't utilise its full power, and is only allowing him to use fragments of its strength at his current stage. That's very interesting.' Christopher chuckled.

Then again, it wasn't all that surprising. The weapon was smart enough to wage war on and almost win against the inhabitants of its world. So it recognising that Titus was nowhere near ready to wield its full might wasn't really difficult. Still it was pretty interesting.

That said, what exactly did this all mean? Why had it chosen Christopher?

"Master… why did it bind itself to me?" Titus conveniently asked him as well and Christopher glanced at him.

Before he could answer though, Titus suddenly tilted his head as if he was listening to something, and his eyes widened slightly.

'Right. It also has a consciousness so it can speak to him telepathically.' He nodded to himself and waited for Titus to speak.

"... Veylthar… its name is Veylthar…" He revealed and Christopher's eyes widened with deep surprise.

"... It willingly revealed its name to you huh?" He muttered and stared at Titus with some pride and amazement.

The issue with binding weapons that had a consciousness was… well, because they had a consciousness, which meant they had egos and pride.

Weapons existed to be wielded and any weapon with a consciousness had no desire to be wielded by someone it deemed unworthy.

Which was why, while sentient weapons were more rare and powerful than their non-conscious counterparts, they were significantly harder to bind.

Christopher had no issue with Scarlet and Norn since he was more than worthy and was the reason they became conscious in the first place.

The Legend Sword on the other hand had been created thousands of years ago and had seen and done many things. Its ego was probably through the roof and wouldn't let just anyone to wield it, unless it intended to overpower their consciousness and control them, as it had done with its original wielder and had almost done with Peter.

In short, a weapon as unique as it was definitely very proud and picky when it came to choosing who could wield it.

But not only had it chosen Titus, it had also revealed its name.

This was even more significant because, unlike Scarlet and Norn who had been named by Christopher, it was obvious the name Veylthar was self-given. Meaning it was very proud of its name and wouldn't share it loosely. But it had told Titus.

This meant that it not only trusted Titus that much, but it saw something in him that made it certain that he was worthy enough to wield it, even if his current strength was lacking.

"Titus. Seems like you're even more special than I had given you credit for." Christopher walked forward and placed a hand on Titus' shoulder

"From here on out, you and Veylthar are one in the same. It's not just your weapon, it's your partner, and you will treat it as such. Remember that. It saw something in you that made it believe you are worthy. Don't make it think it made a mistake." Titus' eyes widened and he looked down at the vibrant blade in his hand.

Then he nodded solemnly.

"I won't."
