My 5th Reincarnation: I Was Born in Another World as a Demon - TWOB 4

Chapter 9: THE REVELATION

The next morning, the herbs in Chen's garden seems to droop as Raegan told her about his plans to attend Hempshia's Royal Academy. Her face was drowned with worry as she methodically sorted her medical supplies, a habit Raegan had learned meant she was deeply troubled.

"The capital is dangerous for you," she said quietly, her expression completely still. "King Thundra's researchers never stopped looking for the demon child who disappeared. If they discover what you are—"

"Mother," Raegan interrupted gently. His system pulsed with warning:

[Emotional Moment Detected

Parental Bond: StrongTruth

Revelation: Recommended

Risk Assessment: Necessary]

Chen's ears flattened at his tone. In seven years of raising him, she'd never heard him speak with such ancient weight in his voice. "Raegan?"

"There's something I need to show you." Raegan closed his eyes, letting his carefully maintained facade slip. When he opened them again, they held an amber glow, centuries of memories, of battles, of deaths. His demon core hummed with power that no child should possess.

Chen's healer instincts made her step forward, but her warrior's experience made her pause. "What are you?"

"I am Raghavendra Rakbedh," he said softly, watching confusion flicker in her eyes—she heard his story. "Prince of Shivodaya, blessed by Lord Shiva, killed by the vampire lord Sasht, Losing everything he had loved. And this…" he gestured to himself, "is my fifth life."

 The system monitored Chen's reactions:

[Subject: Dr. Chen (Mother)

Shock Level: High but Controlled

Comprehension: Processing

Maternal Concern: Intensifying]

Raegan told her everything—his first life as a prince, saving the wolf cub, becoming the first werewolf, him and his family's death at Sasht's hands, his reincarnations, and finally, his rebirth in this world as a demon child. With each word, he could see her healer's mind piecing together all the oddities she'd observed over the years.

"All this time," Chen whispered, sitting heavily in her garden chair. "The way you moved, the things you knew, how you'd sometimes look at the moon with such old eyes…"

"You saved me," Raegan said, kneeling before her. "Not just from King Thundra's researchers, but from losing myself in all these lives. You gave me something I never had in my other incarnations—a real childhood, a mother's love, not just a warrior on a path of revenge and failure."

Chen's hands trembled as she touched his white hair. "But why tell me now?"

"Because I need you to understand why I must go to Hempshia. The Rudra Vyuh exists in this world too. If I can find it, learn enough about this world's mana to locate it…" His voice caught. "I have to go back, Mother. My revenge and my lineage, my people, they're still suffering under Sasht's reign."

The garden fell silent except for the rustle of herb leaves in the morning breeze. Chen's eyes filled with tears, but they held the steel of a warrior who'd made hard choices before.

"Seven years," she said finally. "Seven years I've loved you, my son. Protected you, taught you, watched you grow." She cupped his face in her hands. "And now I understand I wasn't just protecting a child—I was helping forge a warrior for another world."

Raegan's system, Vivaan, pinged softly:

[Emotional Bond Status: Strengthening

Maternal Understanding: Complete Support

Level: Unconditional

Note: True Family Transcends Worlds]

"I'll always be your son," Raegan promised, feeling his demon core pulse with an emotion he hadn't expected to find in this life—pure, unconditional love for the mother who'd given him a life.

Chen stood, her healer's resolve mixing with a mother's fierce pride. "Then let's prepare you properly." She moved to her workroom with purpose. "I have scrolls, medicines, techniques I've never shown you. If you're going to face a vampire lord, you'll need every advantage I can give you."

As they worked through the night, preparing for his journey, Raegan's system made one final note:

[Legacy Updated: Dual Purpose

Mission: Return to Original World

New Priority: Honor Mother's Love]

Between worlds and lives, between demon power and ancient memories, Raegan had found something he'd never expected—a mother who loved both the child he appeared to be and the ancient warrior he truly was. And somehow, that made him stronger than any of his previous lives had ever been.

A week later... farewell at Mistpine's gates had been bittersweet. Chen had pressed a satchel of carefully prepared medicines into Raegan's hands, her hands trembling with unspoken words. Their shared secret hung between them as she hugged him goodbye, whispering only, "Remember everything I taught you."

As Raegan, Luna, and Leo journeyed to Hempshia, Vivaan suddenly flared with alerts:

[Multiple Threats Detected

Demon Signatures: 5 (Raptor Type, Class F)

Additional Entities: 5 (Goblins, Class E)

Warning: Unusual Mana Patterns]

Through the morning mist, Raegan saw something extraordinary—a velociraptor demon, its scales crackling with raw, wild mana. Unlike the mindless smash demons he'd encountered before around Mistpine, this one moved with predatory precision, though its eyes held the same vacant, primal hunger all demons shared. More surprising was its rider—a small, green-skinned creature with pointed ears and yellow eyes.

[Species Identified

Classification: Goblin

Threat Level: Moderate

Note: Strategic Demon Species, E Class ]

"Wild demons," Leo rumbled, his massive frame shifting into a combat stance. "Controlled by goblin hunters. Raegan, show me if you're ready for Barthopia's combat training."

Luna tensed beside them, her golden eyes tracking the mana flows. "Five demons approaching from the east and five goblin riders. The demons' mana is chaotic, but the goblins are directing it somehow."

The lead goblin raised a crude spear, barking commands in a harsh tongue. The raptor-demon beneath it released a surge of unstable mana, its movements guided by the goblin's control.

"This is your test," Leo announced. "Show me how you handle unexpected threats."

Raegan's demon core pulsed with anticipation. The raptors moved with deadly instinct, their raw power harnessed and directed by the surprisingly intelligent goblins riding them.

"Luna," Raegan called out, "can you track their mana surges?"

Her ears perked forward. "The demons release power randomly, but the goblins are using their spears to direct it. There's a pattern!"

Raegan moved with careful precision. The raptor-demons attacked with mindless ferocity, but their goblin riders displayed cunning strategy, using their mounts' chaotic mana bursts with tactical precision.

"Their weakness," he called to Luna as he dodged another attack, "is the delay between the goblins' commands and the demons' response!"

Luna's voice guided him through the chaos: "Left flank opening! Two preparing to charge! Mana surge above!"

Fighting creatures without consciousness was familiar to Raegan, but the goblin riders added an element of intelligent control he hadn't expected. He adapted his tactics, targeting the goblins' control over their mounts rather than the demons themselves.

One by one, the goblins lost control of their demon mounts, which then scattered into the wilderness, returning to their mindless state without their masters' guidance. The remaining goblins retreated, showing tactical wisdom in the face of defeat.

"Well done," Leo approved as the dust settled. "You showed good judgment—targeting the riders rather than trying to defeat the demons directly. Hempshia's Royal Academy needs students who can think, not just fight."

Raegan helped Luna to her feet, grateful for how her mana-reading ability had helped him track the chaotic demon energy. His system, Vivaan, made a final assessment:

[Combat Evaluation Complete

Style: Controlled, Strategic

Teamwork Rating: Exceptional

Warning: Maintain Cover - Display Age-Appropriate Skills]

"I've never seen demons like that before," Luna commented as they resumed their journey. "The way the goblins controlled them…"

"Demons are mindless forces of nature," Leo explained as they walked. "But clever demons can sometimes direct that force, like channeling a river's flow. That's what makes goblin hunters dangerous—they've learned to harness chaos itself."

Raegan nodded, keeping his deeper understanding of demons hidden. His own consciousness was unique in this world, a secret that only Dr. Chen knew. But watching how the goblins directed demon power had given him ideas about controlling his own abilities more effectively.

As they continued toward Hempshia, his thoughts drifted back to Dr. Chen, the only one who truly knew what he was. Her final embrace had carried the weight of their shared secret, and he silently renewed his promise to make her proud—both as her son and as the ancient warrior she'd helped prepare for his greatest battle.
