Chapter 24: Storm in the Hunt family

Ethan stepped out of the Alliance building, Charles's words echoing in his mind about transferring to Super City.

He muttered, "I need to ask Dad about it. The Hunt family is there… I don't think they'll welcome us if we move. I'm not strong enough to face them yet. What should I do?"

He didn't know that while he worried, a storm was already brewing inside the Hunt Family's villa in Super City.

Inside the vast ancestral hall, Alexander Hunt, the Level 8 Emperor and current patriarch, sat on the throne-like main seat. His expression was unreadable.

Around him stood the entire Hunt bloodline.

To his right, Ethan's grandfather James and uncle-grandfather Ryder stood stiffly—both Emperor-level, but looking like nervous schoolboys awaiting for their punishment.

Beside them were Ethan's two uncles.

Elder Uncle (Carson Hunt) – King-level 5

Junior Uncle (Victor Hunt) – Grandmaster-level 9

Carson and Victor's families stood behind them. Ethan had five cousins between them:

Carson's children:

Cedric (age 22) – Level 6 Warrior

Marina (age 19) – Level 2 Warrior

Victor's children:

Nolan (age 18) – Level 1 Warrior

Zayne (age 17) – Quasy Warrior

Leila (age 15) – not yet awakened

As for Ryder Hunt's lineage, he had two sons and one daughter—each with children:

Total of six children:

Four boys and two girls

Three were official warriors, three were underage

In all, Ethan had 11 cousins, 7 of whom had already awakened.

The entire room was tense and silent.

Suddenly, Alexander's low chuckle broke the air—half amused, half terrifying. He turned to look at Ethan's grandfather.

Cold sweat formed instantly on the old man's brow.

Even as an Emperor, he felt like a child before his father. His brother—the uncle-grandfather—stood nearby with a face like a student watching his classmate get scolded by the teacher, dreading his turn.

Alexander's voice dropped like thunder.

> "My good son… Did your brain rot when you agreed to throwing Jack out of the family?"

Before anyone could react, he roared like a Tyrannosaurus,

> "You bastard! Son of a bitch! Shame of a father! Maybe your brain's full of cow dung—should I pull it out and clean it for you?"

Ethan's grandfathe stammered, "I—I thought it was your decision…"

He muttered it under his breath, but Alexander's ears were sharp.

Ryder's face turned dark. "What a dumbass," he whispered.

Boom!

James flew across the room, crashing into the wall. Everyone gasped.

Alexander stood, fury in his eyes.

> "I decided to throw Jack out? Do you think I'm a fool? Did you try to contact your son even once after that?! Maybe you thought you had enough sons and didn't need the second one anymore?"

He turned to Ryder, who paled instantly.

"Father, calm down! You know I loved Jack dearly. It was just a moment of anger that I—"

Boom!

Another body flew across the room.

Alexander was muttering to himself now.

> "A once-in-a-lifetime genius. Even the Vice President warned me—if we harbor any malice toward Ethan, the entire Hunt Family could be wiped out."

He glared down at his sons, who now pretended to be unconscious on the floor.

Alenxander became red with anger again. He roared

> "You bastards!Get up in one second or else I'll make sure you lie down there for a year or two."

The two brothers jumped up like they'd been injected with chicken blood.

Ryder glared at his brother. "You pretending to faint in front of Father, you bastard?"

Ethan's grandfather: 🙂

Alexander sighed and said,

> "We leave for Base City 5. Today. All of us."

"Yes, Father!" the brothers replied in unison.

The younger generation stood frozen. What just happened?

Even the King-level warriors didn't understand. Only the Emperor-level elders had been told about Ethan's terrifying potential.

Carson, Ethan's elder uncle, gathered his courage and stepped forward.

> "Father, what's going on?"

James was still frustrated. He needed someone to vent his anger. His big brother and father was out of question. So Carson became the victim. Without a word, he slapped Carson flying across the hall.

> "Having fun watching your old man getting thrashed, right?" James snorted coldly.

And with that, he stormed out.

The hall was silent.

Back in Base City 5…

Ethan was still lost in thought. I should talk to Rose about how I feel.

He'd never had the confidence before. But now… things were different.

He knew she worked part-time as a junior instructor at a martial dojo. All the instructors there were at least Martial Warriors. But Rose, with her talent, had been accepted early.

Without hesitation, Ethan got into his sports car and sped toward the Silver Moon Martial Dojo.

The dojo catered exclusively to women, so Ethan's arrival immediately drew attention.

As he stepped out, the sun gleamed off his tall frame. Wearing black, sword strapped to his back, hair tousled by the wind—he looked like a character torn straight out of a dream.

A girl passing by almost fell over.

> "Oh my god… how can someone be so handsome? Is he the prince from my dreams?"

Another girl scoffed,

> "Back off, shameless bitch! He's obviously my prince!"

Ethan heard them. He shrugged. I'm just handsome. What can I do?

He walked into the reception.

The receptionist froze the moment she saw him, clearly dazed.

Ethan snapped his fingers at her. "Hello. I'm Ethan Hunt. I'm here to meet Rose. Is she available?"

The receptionist blinked herself back to reality.

> "You mean… Instructor Rose?"

Ethan nodded.

She immediately dialed a number.

> "Ma'am, a Mr. Ethan Hunt is here to see you."

In the training hall, Rose raised an eyebrow. Ethan? Why would he come all the way here?

She told her students to continue practicing while she stepped out.

As she approached the front desk, she spotted a tall, sharp-featured man waiting calmly.

For a second, she lost her footing mentally—caught in a daze.

Her heart skipped a beat. But then she came back to her senses and blushed faintly. If someone saw this, what would they think?"

She smoothed her hair and walked up. "Hello, Ethan."

Ethan stood and smiled. "Hi, Rose. How are you?"

"I'm doing well. What brings you here?" she asked curiously.

Ethan looked into her eyes. "I came here because… I wanted to tell you that I lo—"

Suddenly, her phone rang.

She held up a finger. "Sorry, it's my mom. I'll be quick."

Ethan nodded. "Go ahead."

But as Rose answered, her smile vanished.

"Mom? Why are you crying? What happened?"

Her face went pale in an instant. Panic surged in her voice.

Without a word, she turned and started running.

"Rose!" Ethan called after her. "What happened?"

She stopped, turned, and shouted breathlessly,

> "It's Zara—my little sister. She's been kidnapped!"
