Chapter 723 - 723: Do You Know What Kind of Person I am to Her?

Chapter 723: Chapter 723: Do You Know What Kind of Person I am to Her?

Qiao Yin hadn’t expected to run into him, it had been a full two months since she last saw Dongfang Mu.

Recently he had been busy with his engagement to the Cui Family, so had let some of the company matters slip. As a result, Qiao Yin had only been dealing with some minor issues, without returning to her role as his assistant at the Eastern Empire Group.

When Dongfang Mu came to help her up, she couldn’t keep lying on the ground pretending, so she had to get up.

Her movement in getting up was unnatural, and Dongfang Mu immediately noticed her wounded bleeding arm. He frowned slightly, “Injured? Call someone over to treat it immediately.”

“It’s alright, Young Master Mu. Just a scrape and a bit of skin loss, I’ll take care of it when I get home.”

“Are you sure you’re alright?”

“I’m okay, I’m a doctor by profession. I have it under control.”

“Okay.”

Once Dongfang Mu confirmed that she was okay, he stepped slightly in front of her, shielding her from view. Then he turned to Gu Jing, “Young Master Gu, why are you bullying a girl at a bar? Did she offend you in some way? If so, I’ll apologize on her behalf. If not, then perhaps Young Master Gu should be the one apologizing.”

Gu Jing knitted his brows together, feeling a surge of anger. “When did I learn that Young Master Mu was such a gallant hero? Do you care so much about women now? Apologizing for her? Do you even know who I am to her before you apologize on her behalf?”

Dongfang Mu responded in a calm voice, seemingly unbothered by Gu Jing’s provocations. “Who are you to her?”

“I am her…”

Gu Jing could not finish the sentence, his entire demeanor tensed up till discomfort verged on painful.

Damn it, he and Qiao Yin’s relationship was such that he couldn’t divulge it!

He paused for a long time, and when he noticed Qiao Yin looking at him curiously waiting for his response, he shot her a hateful glare, and then turned back to Dongfang Mu. “And who exactly are you to her, minding so much of her business?”

“I am her friend, a very close friend at that. So, Young Master Gu, would you like to apologize now?”

Gu Jing glanced at Qiao Yin and said indignantly, “Why do you make friends with everyone? Do you know what kind of person he is? He is more fickle-hearted and promiscuous than me. Be careful of him using you for his own benefit!”

Qiao Yin, preoccupied with her own concerns, didn’t pay much heed to his attitude. She simply responded, “Young Master Mu is a very good person. We are indeed friends, he has helped me a great deal, and I am genuinely grateful.”

Apart from everything else, Dongfang Mu was quite generous when it came to money matters. Being on his team and making contributions never went unawarded.

In Qiao Yin’s perspective, Dongfang Mu was far more significant than Gu Jing, who was substantively an enemy’s son and a future opponent rather than a friend.

It was different with Dongfang Mu; he could be a valuable ally for her in the future.

Turning to Dongfang Mu, she explained, “Young Master Mu, Young Master Gu did not bully me. It’s just that I slipped and fell, it has nothing to do with him.”

However, someone in the crowd around them interjected loudly, “Miss, we all saw that Young Master Gu pushed you down. You don’t have to cover for him. Don’t be afraid, Young Master Mu is here for you!”

“You’re right miss, tell Young Master Mu if you feel wronged, he is known for his gallantry!”

“Young Master Mu, please do something. The girl was bullied to tears just a moment ago, she looks so pitiful.”

“Young Master Mu! Young Master Mu! Young Master Mu!”

Although both are notorious playboys, comparatively speaking, Dongfang Mu is more reliable and mature than Gu Jing.

As a result, most of the crowd favored Dongfang Mu.

Only Qiao Yin was distressed. She didn’t want Dongfang Mu and Gu Jing to face off against each other—it wouldn’t contribute to her attempting to engage Gu Jing in conversation.

The crowd, unaware of the real situation, merely saw that Gu Jing had pushed her, not knowing that in reality, it was her who had been clinging to him.

She quickly interjected, “No, Young Master Mu, don’t listen to them, it was only an accident. Young Master Gu didn’t do it on purpose. You go and enjoy your drink with your friends, I will continue to talk with Young Master Gu.”
