My Blood Legacy: Reincarnated as a Vampire

Chapter 515: EXTRA - Diary of an Extra

I never thought I'd write something like this. But look at me—a mere lesser demon, sitting in one of the busiest taverns of New Gehenna, writing a journal.

If I told anyone that a background character like me is recording the history of the most powerful city to ever exist, they'd probably laugh in my face. But who cares? Ever since Demon King Dante Scarlet took control of Hell and reorganized the Eight Floors, things have changed so much that even a wretch like me can afford to philosophize a little.

Hell used to be absolute chaos. A bunch of archdemons and lords fighting for territory, impaling subordinates for fun, and declaring war on each other for no reason. Life for us lesser demons was a real hell—and yes, the irony isn't lost on me. Serving a demon lord was almost always a death sentence.

But then… He appeared.

Dante Scarlet.

The Demon God.

They say he came out of nowhere, crushed one of the Lords of Hell with a single strike, and before anyone could even comprehend what was happening, he had taken control of everything.

Now, Hell is no longer a collection of fragmented and brutal realms. It's a place with multiple infernal metropolises, and I live in one called New Gehenna—a centralized empire where demons, succubi, incubi, and even some cursed humans live under royal laws. And believe it or not, we have laws now.

Is it strange? Yes. But it's also… incredible.

For the first time in Hell's history, there is stability. Trade flourishes, demons can advance without fear of being torn apart by a moody lord, and even organized crime follows rules. That's not to say New Gehenna is a paradise—of course, there are still conflicts; after all, we're demons. But now, disputes are resolved officially, with combat arenas and sanctioned challenges.

And of course… we have them.

The Demon God's wives.

If Dante Scarlet is the supreme ruler, his wives are the primordial forces that shape New Gehenna with iron and fire. I would never dare say this out loud, but if he is the King, they are the divine terrors ensuring that no one—absolutely no one—dares to challenge his authority.

And among all of them, there is one that makes me break into a cold sweat just thinking about her.

Morgana Scarlet.

If there's one being in this world I never want to meet, it's her. As the head of the Arcane Guard, Morgana is responsible for maintaining order, hunting down traitors, and crushing anyone who dares to disturb the city's stability. They say she can burn a soul with a single glance—and I believe it.

I once saw a fool try to cheat in a trade deal. The next day, he was wandering the streets as a lost specter. His body? Reduced to ashes. His soul? Trapped in Hell itself, unable to enter the cycle of reincarnation.

And for us demons, that's worse than death.

Morgana is always accompanied by a sinister grimoire, its pages covered in runes so ancient that even elder demons avoid looking directly at them. They say she was the one who raised the barriers around New Gehenna, making the city an impenetrable stronghold. No external force dares challenge our territory as long as her spells remain active.

But… for all her terrifying presence, they say that for those who follow the rules, Morgana is surprisingly fair. There are rumors that she sponsors young demons talented in magic and even runs an orphanage for homeless demon children.

I've never seen it myself, and I don't have the courage to confirm it. But thinking about it… in a brutal world where betrayal and slaughter are common, maybe Morgana isn't that monstrous after all.

Actually… now that I reflect on it… maybe she's not even the worst one.

The only thing more frightening than an authoritarian demon obsessed with magic, forcing her studies on everyone around her, is a demon who was once an Empress.

Lyrianna Scarlet.

In the past, she ruled a vast demonic empire, but after losing her throne and marrying Dante, she found a new purpose: taking control of the Underworld's political affairs. And considering our alliances extend across all known realms, having a strategist like her in charge is, at the very least, a blessing in disguise.

And, my friends… she rules with an iron fist.

If there's a traitor, a spy, or any bastard trying to sabotage New Gehenna, Lyrianna handles the problem personally. And when I say "handles," I mean the poor fool will likely never be seen again.

It's no exaggeration. She has… effective methods.

However, there are rumors that, for those who earn her trust, Lyrianna reveals an unexpectedly generous side. Some merchants swear that she frequently invests in promising businesses and boosts the infernal economy—aside from owning countless lands in the human world and the realm of supernatural creatures.

But don't let that fool you.

Her temper is legendary. Once, an arrogant noble dared to insult her during a political meeting. Today, he serves as a stretched-out fur rug on the floor of her palace. They say it still moves sometimes.

Now, the strangest detail?

Once, I was hired to serve as a waiter at an event in the palace. There, I saw something I never would have imagined: Lyrianna, the feared former Empress, acting like a sweet and affectionate woman beside the Emperor.

And it wasn't just her.

All of them—Dante Scarlet's wives, the most feared rulers of the Underworld—become… obedient puppies around him.

That made me realize something terrifying.

If there is anyone more frightening than Morgana Scarlet, that title undoubtedly belongs to Valentina Scarlet.

She is not just a warrior.

She is the incarnation of war.

The Supreme General of the Infernal Armies.

Among all of Dante Scarlet's wives, Valentina is the most feared on the battlefield. While Morgana rules through her destructive magic and Lyrianna dominates politics with her sharp mind, Valentina subjugates through pure and absolute military might.

She is the Supreme General of the Infernal Armies and the one responsible for ensuring that New Gehenna remains untouchable. Under her command, no army has ever dared to invade our territory and lived to tell the tale.

They say that during the last holy war against the other races, Valentina alone slaughtered two million beings and killed a god… before sunrise.

Two million… and a god…

Valentina crushed them as if they were mere insects.

Rumor has it that, in the midst of battle, her entire body became so drenched in the blood of her enemies that her clothes seemed to have turned into crimson armor. When the sun rose, only she remained standing on the battlefield, surrounded by countless mutilated corpses.

And she laughed.

A deep, guttural sound, filled with adrenaline and exhilaration for battle.

That alone would be enough to make her a legend among demons, but Valentina is not just a warrior. She is a force of nature.

Unlike Lyrianna, who maintains order through politics, or Morgana, who rules with laws and magic, Valentina has a more… direct approach.

She does not care for bureaucracy, intrigues, or diplomatic agreements.

If a threat arises, she simply annihilates it before it has a chance to grow.

She never hesitates.

That is why New Gehenna is considered the safest city in the Underworld. No enemy dares invade because they all know that if they do, Valentina will be waiting for them at the gates, blade in hand and a smile on her lips.

But for those who live in the city and respect the laws, she is a fierce protector.

There have been incidents where lesser demons were attacked by gangs trying to sow chaos. In one particular case, a group of mercenaries began harassing small merchants, demanding outrageous tributes and threatening their families.

No one expected Valentina to care about something so trivial.

But to everyone's surprise, she personally hunted down each of the criminals.

And it wasn't a quick hunt.

She made sure to torture them. To teach them a lesson no one would ever forget.

They say that, on that night, the mercenaries' screams echoed throughout the city, and by dawn, their bodies were hung at the entrance of New Gehenna as a warning to anyone who dared threaten its citizens.

The message was clear:

"You do not touch those under my protection."

Now, the most intriguing part of all this?

As terrifying as she is, Valentina—just like all of Dante's other wives—completely changes in the Emperor's presence.

In battle, she is a demon among demons.

A Divine-Demonic General who could crush entire kingdoms with a mere snap of his fingers.

But when Dante Scarlet is around…?

Well… let's just say there have been moments when I've seen this very same woman—the one responsible for massacring legions of angels—lying lazily beside the Emperor, a goofy smile on her face, asking for head pats.

It makes no sense.

If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never believe it.

And it's precisely this paradox that makes me wonder…

Perhaps Dante Scarlet is the only true monster in New Gehenna.
