Chapter 112: Rewards

Leon, Roselia, and Roman stood silently, watching the crumbling ruins disintegrate bit by bit into black ash that scattered into the sky. The once-imposing dungeon, filled with despair and agony, was now reduced to nothing but a barren wasteland atop the mountain.

"It's over," Roman said, his voice steady as he gazed at the desolate landscape. Only the emptiness remained—a stark contrast to the chaos that once engulfed this place.

Leon, however, had his attention on something else. A tiny figure hovered in front of him—a palm-sized spirit surrounded by a faint, shimmering glow. It was Milly, the Little Rain Spirit, who now danced gracefully in mid-air, droplets of rain gently falling around her as if by magic.

Leon had accepted her contract, a rare and precious bond with a spirit. Spirits were an extraordinary race within the Tower. They could exist anywhere, yet they didn't climb the Tower themselves. Instead, they formed contracts with Ascenders, providing them with unparalleled powers while ensuring their own safety. The Spirit King, one of the Tower's top ten races, was a testament to their might and significance.

Leon studied Milly closely as her rain lightly misted the ground around them, refreshing and soothing.

In his mind, the system displayed her details:

[ Milly, the Little Rain Spirit ]

[ Spirit Magic: Rain ]

Leon smiled faintly as he observed Milly's carefree demeanor, her laughter sounding like soft raindrops. She had a calming presence that felt both gentle and formidable. Turning to Roman and Roselia, Leon nodded.

"Let's move. There's nothing left for us here."

With Milly floating beside him and the ruins fading into the wind, the trio descended the mountain, ready for their next journey.

On the way back to town, Leon inspected his Rewards

Leon nodded, his gaze fixed on the information before him. Thanks to his Child of Aether title, he had previously enjoyed a 1000% increase in mana regeneration. However, now as the Lord of Aether, his mana regeneration had skyrocketed tenfold, granting him unparalleled reserves. Additionally, his magic resistance had risen significantly, from 50% to an impressive 70%.

"And Eldritch magic, huh," Leon mused aloud, a faint smile playing on his lips as he reviewed the details. This was an unexpected but welcome surprise. Eldritch magic was a rare and enigmatic branch of power, one that was both feared and coveted. Its chaotic yet potent nature could bend reality itself, making it one of the most dangerous forms of magic to master.

Leon muttered to himself as he reviewed the ominous introductions of the rewards he had received.

"Hmm, they are powerful, but that intro is definitely ominous," he said, contemplating the implications of his new abilities.

"Now the only thing left is this SSS treasure chest," Leon mumbled as he stopped walking. The others halted too, turning to look at him. Leon didn't say anything further, simply motioning toward the treasure chest.

"This is the treasure you gained, right?" Roselia asked, seeing the ornate chest, her curiosity evident.

Leon nodded. "Let's open it here," he said. They were currently on their way down the mountain, standing amidst the forest. It was a relatively calm spot, so Leon decided it was as good a place as any to check the rewards of the SSS-ranked treasure chest.

All eyes were on Leon as he prepared to open it, anticipation thick in the air.
