Chapter 128: Raid rewards

The trio stood at the center of the battlefield, their calm demeanor starkly contrasting with the devastation around them. Drake sheathed his longsword, its runes dimming as the magic settled. Milly adjusted her bow, glancing at the fading remains of the undead legion, while Liam inspected his staff, the blood-red patterns still faintly glowing from his recent spells.

Brook and Yelena approached cautiously. Brook cleared his throat to announce their presence, and Drake turned to face them, his piercing blue eyes unreadable.

"You three," Brook began, his tone firm but laced with respect. "What you've done here… It's beyond anything I've seen. You've not only saved the raid but also carried us through what could've been a massacre."

Drake inclined his head slightly, accepting the compliment without a hint of arrogance. "We came for a challenge. Nothing more," he replied, his voice calm and measured.

Brook nodded, choosing his words carefully. "Still, you deserve far more than what was agreed upon. The Sword Revenant's head is yours, of course, but I want to offer additional rewards from the guild's treasury. It's the least we can do."

Milly raised an eyebrow, glancing at Drake for his reaction. "Generous," she murmured, her tone neutral but with a hint of amusement.

Drake looked back at Brook, his expression unchanged. "We appreciate the offer," he said. "But we have no interest in gold or artifacts. Keep your rewards. We only want the Revenant's head. That was the deal."

Brook looked stunned for a moment. "Yes, it was the deal, but you did far more than I ever hoped for. I brought you in as just extra support, yet you three led the raid to victory. Please, you can take any of the rewards from here," Brook said, pointing at the chest.

Drake shrugged. "If you insist," he said.

"I do insist," Brook replied firmly, his voice clear and resolute.

Drake chuckled and nodded, stepping toward the chest. Together, they opened it, revealing five items inside.

"All of them are great," Brook said, admiring the treasures before them.

Yelena added, "Sadly, we can't use the last one." She glanced at the Abyssal Revenant's Greatsword with a hint of regret. "It's far beyond our level and requirements. Only the Trio can wield something like that."

Brook sighed. "Well, then... what will you take?"

Drake stepped forward, examining the items one last time before pointing at the Sword Revenant Summoning Bead. "We'll just take this," he said, picking up the black marble. Inside, a faint image of the Sword Revenant could be seen, sitting on its dark throne.

He added the bead to his inventory, already planning to donate it later in exchange for something more suited to his system's evolving needs.

"Once this is in the right hands, it'll fetch a much better reward," Drake thought to himself.
