Chapter 193: Battle Arena IX
"How did he see through it?!" someone shouted.
Aeron coughed, wiping blood from his lips, but he wasn't done yet.
"Not bad," he admitted. "But I'm not out yet!"
His eyes glowed, and the shadows beneath Leon twisted unnaturally.
"Nightmare Bind!"
Dark tendrils shot up from the ground, wrapping around Leon's legs, locking him in place. The energy seeped into his mind, trying to force him into an illusion.
But Leon just sighed.
"I'm the last person you want to trap in darkness."
His body trembled for a moment—then black flames erupted from him, burning the tendrils away.
Aeron's eyes widened. "What?! That's not illusion magic! What the hell are you?!"
Leon didn't answer.
In the blink of an eye, he was in front of Aeron again.
A simple punch.
But when it connected—
BOOM!
Aeron was blasted backward, skidding across the ground before slamming into the barrier again.
He didn't get up.
"Match over!" the announcer declared. "Leon wins!"
The arena erupted in cheers.
Leon turned away, his expression calm as ever.
Aeron groaned, barely able to lift his head. Despite losing, he grinned. "Damn… you really are a monster."
Leon glanced back. "You fought well."
Aeron chuckled. "Yeah, yeah… Next time, I won't lose so easily."
Leon smirked before walking off the stage.
He was now in the finals.
Semifinal Match 2: Vanessa vs. Ragnar
As Leon sat down, Vanessa and Ragnar stepped into the arena.
Both of them were strong fighters. Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire
Ragnar possessed a Might-type ability, allowing him to reinforce his entire body, enveloping himself in a red aura. Leon wasn't entirely sure of the ability's full extent, but it made Ragnar a powerhouse in close combat.
On the other hand, Vanessa was like a Frost Princess—her Ice-type ability allowed her to freeze her surroundings with ease, controlling the battlefield with her chilling presence.
Leon was looking forward to this match.
As the match began, Ragnar wasted no time, charging forward like a raging beast, his red aura flaring up around him. Each of his steps cracked the arena floor, showcasing his raw physical power.
Vanessa, however, remained calm. With a flick of her wrist, icy mist spread around her, lowering the temperature drastically. Frost crept across the ground, making it harder for Ragnar to move freely.
"Tsk… troublesome." Ragnar muttered, realizing her strategy.
BANG!
He stomped the ground, shattering the ice beneath his feet to prevent slipping. Then, with a burst of energy, he leaped forward, swinging a devastating punch aimed straight at Vanessa!
But she was already prepared.
With a smooth step backward, she created a wall of ice in an instant, blocking his attack. The impact sent cracks spider-webbing across the ice, but it held just long enough for her to counterattack.
"Freeze."
Vanessa whispered as sharp ice spears formed around her, shooting toward Ragnar at blinding speed!
Would Ragnar be able to break through? Or would Vanessa's ice overwhelm him?
Leon leaned forward in his seat, watching with interest—this was getting exciting.
"I really wonder why you find those weaklings' matches interesting," a sudden voice said behind him.
Turning his head, Leon found Kieran looking at him with a smile.
However, Leon ignored him and continued watching the match, paying no attention to Kieran's words.
Kieran chuckled at this reaction and said, "You know, this whole tournament is for me. The ability crystal is a prize meant for me."
Leon glanced at him briefly but didn't respond.
"But it was boring up until now," Kieran added with a smirk.
Then, after a brief pause, he continued, "But defeating you will be fun."
Leon finally turned his head to look at Kieran, his expression calm and indifferent. "Oh? You think you can defeat me?"
Kieran chuckled, leaning back casually. "Of course. You've been playing around, hiding your true strength. But that won't work against me."
Leon smirked slightly. "Is that so? Well, I look forward to seeing what you can do." He then turned back to the match, no longer interested in entertaining Kieran's arrogance.
Meanwhile, in the arena, Ragnar and Vanessa clashed fiercely. Ragnar's Mighty-Type ability enveloped him in a red aura, enhancing his physical power, while Vanessa's Ice-Type ability froze the ground beneath her feet, creating a battlefield suited to her combat style.
Leon watched as Ragnar charged forward, his fists glowing with intense power. Vanessa, however, remained calm, waving her hand as a layer of ice formed on Ragnar's path. His footing slipped slightly, and in that moment of hesitation, she sent a barrage of ice spikes toward him.
Ragnar reacted quickly, smashing through the ice with pure force, but Vanessa had already moved, using her ability to glide effortlessly across the battlefield.
"They're evenly matched," Aeron commented, standing nearby. "Ragnar has brute force, but Vanessa is much more technical. If he doesn't land a solid hit, he's going to lose."
Leon nodded slightly. "She's good, but… she's hesitating."
As the fight continued, Ragnar eventually found an opening. With a loud roar, he unleashed a devastating punch, shattering the ice around him and knocking Vanessa backward. She barely managed to stabilize herself, panting as she realized the difference in raw power between them.
The match concluded with Ragnar claiming victory, though both fighters had clearly pushed themselves to their limits.
As Vanessa walked off the stage, she glanced at Leon and sighed. "I'll get you next time," she muttered before taking a seat.
Leon simply smirked. "We'll see."
With that match over, the next one was about to begin.
Now, it was Aeron's turn to fight Vanessa and Kieran.
First, Aeron and Vanessa would face off, and the winner would then fight Kieran, determining the top three contenders.
As Aeron and Vanessa stepped into the arena, the atmosphere grew tense. Both were strong fighters, and their match would decide who had the right to challenge Kieran for the spot in the competition.
Vanessa's ice-based abilities made her a formidable opponent—freezing the ground, slowing movements, and creating deadly spikes of ice. On the other hand, Aeron's illusions and speed gave him an unpredictable edge.
The referee raised his hand.
"Begin!"
