Chapter 224: Blood King Treasure X
Leon's eyes burned golden as he raised both hands, shaping a massive javelin of fused magics—its shaft glowed with golden light, veins of blood pulsing through it, and black flames swirling along the tip.
He hurled it like thunder itself.
The javelin struck the guardian square in the chest—shattering its armor and sending it crashing into the throne with a roar of pain and fury. Dust and blood-red mist filled the air as the chamber shook violently.
Ravina raised an arm to shield her face. "Did he…?"
The dust settled.
The Blood Guardian still moved—barely. Down on one knee, chest heaving, it let out one last cry of defiance.
Leon walked forward calmly, extending his hand.
From the creature's chest, a symbol burned into view—the shape of a heart wrapped in thorny veins, glowing a deep red.
The Blood Seal.
It pulsed… once… twice… then launched forward and embedded itself into Leon's chest.
He staggered as the Seal's magic merged with him, carving through muscle, soul, and magic alike. Blood surged through his veins like molten lava, reshaping his essence.
For a brief second, Leon saw every drop of blood in his body, every spell he could weave through it, every life he could end—or save—with a single thought.
He opened his eyes.
And they were glowing red-gold.
Ravina stepped forward, cautiously. "You alright?"
Leon took a breath. Then grinned.
"Never better. The core's in place."
She smiled faintly. "Then it's time for the last seal. The Soul Seal."
Leon turned toward the dark exit of the mausoleum, power radiating from his frame like heat.
"Lead the way."
As they walked, Ravina occasionally glanced back at Leon, who kept his eyes on the path ahead. Then, with a small flick of her wrist, she said, "Right now, your power is nearing Tier VIII."
"No wonder I feel so good," Leon replied, flexing his fingers slightly.
She added with a faint smile, "Though don't get addicted to it. That power will wash away when you get the Blood King Treasure."
"The seals will break again after some time and return to its original place," she explained as Leon tilted his head.
"Huh… If I take the Bloodking treasure, what else will be left there?" he asked.
"It's already been cleared twice," she replied, "yet somehow it always reappears. No one really knows how, but even if you get it, it will just respawn. So, don't worry about it."
Leon nodded slowly. "Still… I'll miss these powers if they fade."
Ravina gave him a look of understanding and nodded in return.
They had traveled across broken realms, ancient tombs, and cursed blood rivers. And now, at last, they stood before the edge of reality itself.
The sky had vanished.
In its place stretched an endless abyss—pitch black, with faint tendrils of ethereal mist swirling through the air like restless spirits. At the very center stood a black monolith, cracked and suspended midair, surrounded by hundreds of slowly orbiting soul orbs—each pulsing softly, like silent heartbeats.
"The Void Sanctuary," Ravina whispered, her voice barely audible, as if afraid to disturb the stillness. "This is where the final seal lies… the Soul Seal."
Leon stepped forward, the ground beneath him shifting into translucent black stone. "And the Keeper of Souls?"
"He's always here," she replied, pointing to the hollowed steps leading down into the heart of the sanctuary. "Waiting. Feeding. Watching. It's not strength alone that defeats him… only attacks imbued with soul-based laws or True Intent can even harm him."
Leon narrowed his eyes. "Then it's a good thing I have a little of that," he muttered, clenching his fist as a faint, fiery pulse of Destruction Law burned to life in his palm. Mixed within the chaotic blaze was a flicker—so small it could easily be missed—a trace of something deeper, purer.
True Intent.
Even if only 0.1%, it was enough. Enough to cut through illusions. Enough to pierce soulbound defenses. Enough to stand a chance.
The moment Leon took a step forward, the sanctuary pulsed. Shadows twisted, and the air grew dense with pressure. A low hum echoed across the void.
Then he appeared.
The Keeper of Souls—a towering figure draped in robes of voidsilk, face hidden behind a mask carved from black bone. Chains of weeping spirits wrapped around his limbs like armor, and in his hand, he held a blade made entirely from condensed soul essence, flickering like blue fire.
"I see you've come to claim what does not belong to mortals," the Keeper's voice echoed, each word laced with ancient weight. "You seek the Soul Seal… then offer your soul as tribute."
Leon didn't flinch. Instead, he stepped forward, golden light gleaming faintly in his eyes. "Sorry, I'm only offering a beating."
He raised his hand—and unleashed a streak of crimson-gold destruction mixed with glimmers of soul-searing light.
The sanctuary trembled.
Leon's first strike—a spear of golden-red destruction magic imbued with the faint flicker of True Intent—shot toward the Keeper like a comet. It collided with his chest, and for a moment, the ghostfire blade trembled in the Keeper's grasp.
But then—
Crack!
The energy shattered like glass. The Keeper stood unmoved, his mask staring down at Leon with soulless, glowing eyes. The impact barely scorched his robe.
"Is that all your will can muster?" the Keeper asked, voice devoid of emotion. Then, in a single blur of movement, he vanished.
Leon's eyes widened—too late.
CRASH!
The ghostfire blade slammed into his side, sending him flying like a broken arrow across the void-lit floor. His ribs cracked audibly, and blood sprayed from his mouth midair. He rolled—barely catching himself with a wall of destruction magic before slamming into the edge of the sanctuary.
Leon coughed, staggering to one knee. "Fast…"
The Keeper appeared before him again—silent, merciless. One slash, two—chains whipped out from the shadows, snaring Leon's ankle and yanking him back mid-dodge.
SLASH!
A deep wound tore across Leon's back, his coat shredded. Blue-white soulfire singed his skin, and he screamed as the blade burned through his very essence. The damage wasn't physical—it was spiritual. His vision flickered. His soul shuddered inside his body.
