Chapter 9: Itaru Myon is coming
"Are you tired of your desperate attempts to tear me apart?"
Endo exhaled deeply, his gaze locked on Itaru. No matter how powerful the strike, it didn't affect him. Itaru moved his arm in a circular motion, radiating an aura of raw power that enveloped him.
He stood five meters away from Endo. Every step he took increased the pressure and momentum of his energy, forcing all the citizens nearby to kneel.
Endo's heart pounded in disbelief. "No way... Am I trembling?"
He barely had time to process the thought before Itaru's claws pierced through his stomach from the other side.
"I never said it would be quick or easy for you,"
Itaru's laughter echoed throughout the area. Citizens whispered in fear. Damn it, everything seemed thrilling to him—the surge of power, the awe in others' eyes. He had never felt this before.
No matter how hard Endo tried to hit him, it was futile. In the blink of an eye, Itaru would vanish, and in the next, he'd inflict a deep wound—one blow to his leg, another to his arm.
"Endo, Endo… Are you really an elite knight? Haha! Are Prince Kairon's soldiers really this weak?"
Itaru whispered mockingly as he brushed back his hair, breathing deeply while the pressure around him continued to grow.
"We'll die if he doesn't stop. This amount of energy is overwhelming…"
Serim thought, barely able to stand. She noticed the peaceful expression on Daid's face, and her pupils dilated.
"No… No! This can't be. Master Daid… My lord Daid, you can't leave! You can't vanish! Please, stay…"
She crawled toward him with difficulty. He was the greatest teacher in the entire southern sector, one of the Ten Seers. Due to his declining powers over the centuries, the royal court had deemed him useless and sent him to the south. There, he took in a few exceptional demons as his disciples.
"I am Serim, your proud and exceptional disciple,"
Serim said. She had given up a job at the palace when she heard of her master's deteriorating condition and spent the past hundred years caring for him. Now, due to the intense demonic pressure saturating the area, Daid's body couldn't take it anymore.
"Serim, don't blame anyone for what's happening. A star must fade and disappear to light the path for others. I want you to help that boy… The future of the demon realm and the grand realms lies in his hands…"
Those were his final words before he vanished, leaving Serim reaching out for him, her hand suspended in the air.
"I left my power for him, he's your responsibility, teach him Serim,"
His words echoed hin her mind.
Demons only cry when a great king dies. Serim wiped away a single tear as she stared at Itaru, who was enjoying torturing Endo, oblivious to the overwhelming power radiating from him.
"He's insane… possessed… and on top of that, completely unpredictable. No… I can't imagine a future where someone like him rules the demon world,"
she muttered as Endo's blood splattered onto her face. Itaru flung Endo's body near her.
"Power alone isn't enough to rule our world, and to teach him is another story, "
Damn him—his presence as he approached was thunderous. The sound of his footsteps echoed inside her chest. He wasn't looking at her; his eyes were fixed on Endo.
"I need to retreat. This is absolute evil. He's a threat. I can't let a monster like this destroy everything my master built,"
Endo thought, reaching for the collar around his neck. Serim blinked twice—it was a teleportation collar directly to Prince Kairon's palace. He was going to escape before being killed.
A strike shattered Endo's neck. He still had a faint pulse. Damn it—Itaru wasn't even using magic. He was just physically overpowering him, showcasing what he could do.
"Listen, I'll be generous—I'll delay your end,"
Itaru's voice barely reached Endo's ears. Is this really the end of my journey? I can't die at the hands of a mere boy…
Looking at the state of his body—wounded all over—it was clear Itaru had targeted all his vital points and energy channels.
"Tell your master that Itaru Myon is coming to tear down his throne… coming to kill him."
Itaru removed his foot and kicked Endo, slamming him into a collapsing structure.
"How did it come to this? I trained under Kairon's own blade... and yet... I'm prey to a boy with madness in his eyes?"
Endo barely managed to grab the glowing bracelet as rubble fell all around. The building crumbled… and in an instant, Endo vanished.

[Congratulations. Your Fame has increased by +40]
[Your demonic blood is depleted. Returning to base form in: Three… Two…]
Itaru shook his head as he looked into the eyes of the citizens. His arm was restored, even better than before, as if it had never been severed. The destruction around him only fueled the joy in his heart. A smile stretched across his lips.
"I, Itaru Myon, am your new regional leader. I will forge a new dawn for this world—and I will destroy anyone who stands in my way,"
he declared, stopping before Serim, who was struggling to rise.
No one could stand. They were still affected by the overwhelming shockwave of his energy. Serim ignored Itaru's extended hand and forced herself up, barely managing to stand.
"You have beautiful limbs… why hide them?"
Itaru commented. Serim looked at her body in shock—damn it, his energy had dispelled her concealment spell. She pulled her black cloak tightly around her, trying to hide herself.
She had human-like limbs, but her skin was blue like the sky.
"I don't know what you did, but it was… helpful. Thanks,"
Itaru added, patting her head before stepping away. He knew she couldn't stand him—at least not yet.
"Lord Itaru… you saved us,"
spoke York, who fell to his knees. A quarter of the district was destroyed, but had Prince Kairon's men remained, everyone would've died. They possessed lava crystals… dark essence cores… forbidden elements that drove demons beyond their limits, stripping them of their minds, turning them into beasts incapable of even recognizing their own kind.
