Chapter 79
“…Shhh…”
Sitting on the bed, I cautiously glanced at Chocoa, who was silently staring at me, before carefully tiptoeing away.
Since Unnie could hear every little noise, I raised my heels and moved as quietly as possible, finally reaching the bathroom door.
-“Everything is alright~”
Leaning my ear against the door, I heard her humming softly inside.
It was hard to make out over the sound of the water, but she seemed quite focused, even singing to herself.
Nod—
Turning back before sneaking in, I saw Chocoa quietly nod her head.
“Phew…”
Gripping the door handle tightly, I silently opened the door. The sound of running water and my sister’s humming became clearer, and the scene inside came into view.
A luxurious bathroom, a large basket filled with her clothes, and—although the clothes looked damp from a busy day—they didn’t smell bad at all.
-“Hmm? What’s up?”
“Ah… Uh…”
I’d been caught.
I was confident I hadn’t made a single sound, but there was no escaping my sister’s sharp hearing. Panicking, I grabbed her pajamas while trying to swap them out.
“Uh! That… earlier, when I was eating clams, I got some sauce on me… so I was going to wash my hands!”
-“Really? Okay, I’ll be done soon.”
“All right, no rush! Take your time washing!”
Hurriedly, I swapped out the black shorts I was about to use as pajamas with a pair of dolphin shorts and slipped out of the bathroom.
-“Everything is alright~”
As the shower door opened, covered in a translucent screen, she stepped out with water dripping from her body.

Lee Su-yeon POV
There was a neatly folded towel nearby.
It was just a towel, but it looked oddly luxurious, so I marveled at it while drying off.
Standing in just underwear and a sports bra, I began drying my hair.
The noise from the blow dryer was as loud as ever, and with my long hair, it took a little while to dry.
After roughly drying my hair, I put on a top, which helped ease the cold and embarrassment a bit.
“…Did I bring these pants…?”
The color of the pants I’d grabbed for pajamas looked similar—black is black, after all.
Thinking little of it, I slipped them on, only to notice something.
“Hm-hm… These are really comfortable.”
Throwing a towel around my neck, I walked out to find Chocoa tidying clothes and Minyoung on their phone.
Their gazes turned toward me—not with casual interest but with a hint of surprise.
Feeling awkward, I quickly moved to sit on the bed.
Minyoung couldn’t take her eyes off Su-yeon, who was proudly showing her fair skin through her dolphin shorts.
As Su-yeon flopped onto the bed, her soft thighs pressed down, peeking out slightly from the shorts.
“…Thank you for the meal.”
“..?”
Su-yeon tilted her head in confusion as Minyoung headed into the bathroom to wash up.
Swoosh—
As the last bits of moisture disappeared from my hair, leaving only a sheen, Chocoa started a conversation.
“So, how’s the trip?”
“Hmm?”
“It’s your first trip, right? How was today?”
“…It was nice, I guess. You know, coming with people I like… And there were so many amazing things.”
“We’ll see more amazing stuff tomorrow, so get some rest for now.”
Following Chocoa’s advice, I lay down on the bed.
This bed was on a whole other level of softness and comfort compared to the one back home.

Lee Minyoung POV
The hotel room was quiet, filled only with the sound of soft, steady breaths. Nothing seemed to be happening.
That’s right—past tense.
While Su-yeon was sleeping diagonally, clutching the blanket with her legs, her sister, Minyoung, opened her eyes.
“Are you asleep…?”
Admiring her sister’s unconscious act of pulling the blanket close but not stealing Minyoung’s share, she wriggled closer to Su-yeon.
Even in the dark, Su-yeon’s long, white hair was easy to follow.
Minyoung glanced at her sister’s blanket, then gently tugged at it.
“Mmng…”
Su-yeon’s sleeping face scrunched slightly in discomfort as the blanket was pulled away.
Taking advantage of the moment, Minyoung quickly snuggled up to Su-yeon.
In her sleep, Su-yeon wriggled, draping one leg over Minyoung and pulling her close.
Surprised at first, Minyoung quickly relaxed as she was enveloped in warmth and the pleasant scent of her sister. Soon, she too drifted off to sleep.

Eun-ah POV
The deep silence of the early dawn was broken only by the sound of a beer can opening.
Sssss—
Pouring beer into a glass, I watched the golden foam settle.
I couldn’t handle alcohol, so it was odd this kind of glass was even in the house.
“Kya… Want some?”
The cat, toasting bread on the table, looked up at me as I drank.
It didn’t make a sound, just stared at me.
I had nothing to offer; I’d already given it tons of snacks earlier.
“You should sleep and grow big already. Not like your owner… Wait, you are big, huh.”
Clicking my tongue, I reached out, and the cat leaned in on its own.
“Purr…”
“…Hmm. Are they awake right now?”
Scrolling through my phone, I found a contact and called.
“Hey, wanna come see the cat?”
“…What?”
“Kidding. What’re you doing?”
I decided there was no need to show the cat to strangers. Tossing the now-sleepy cat onto the bed and covering it with a blanket, I pulled on a hoodie over my dolphin shorts and stepped out.
It was still quiet in the early-morning alleyways, so I didn’t mind the “pantsless” look.
“Yaaawn…”
Perhaps tipsy, the night sky seemed prettier tonight.
After walking for a while, I knocked on a small studio apartment door.
Knock, knock, knock—
“What are you even doing here at this hour?”
From inside came the sound of small footsteps before Aro appeared.
“Hey.”
Ignoring the dark circles under his eyes and the way he scratched his head, I stepped inside.
The faint smell of caffeinated drinks hit me right at the entrance.
It reminded me of my room during exam season—a strange sort of comfort.
The difference was that the smell only lingered in my room during exams, but Aro’s place always smelled like this.
“What were you doing?”
“Managing my NewTube and community stuff.”
Inside, his computer hummed brightly, its screen filled with tabs related to what he’d mentioned.
“Got anything to do?”
“Do you think I would?”
“Hm… Should I leave?”
I gestured jokingly, and Aro hurriedly opened his mouth.
“Stop!”
“…What is it?”
“Alcohol?”
“Approved.”
The sound of two cans clinking together echoed lightly.
“Kyaa..! Two strong ones in, and I feel like I’m getting drunk.”
The beer I had earlier was already high in alcohol content, so after two cans, I could feel a pleasant buzz washing over me.
“If you keep going like that, you’ll be knocked out.”
“Shut up. By the way, why do you even have stuff like this? You can’t even drink.”
Unlike me, who downed the beer in one go, Aro took a single sip and made a disgusted “Blegh” sound, ruining the mood.
“You told me to stock up last time you were here…”
“Did I? Whatever. Got any snacks?”
I pushed the large desk aside and got up from the chair to check the fridge.
Aside from the alcohol and some cold, unappetizing delivery food, there wasn’t much else inside.
Clicking my tongue, I returned to the room, only to find Aro making that same distasteful noise with his beer again.
“Hey, hand it over, damn it.”
“…What the…”
I snatched the beer can from Aro and downed it.
It was still more than half full, and as I finished it, I felt myself wobble slightly.
“Ugh, crap… Hey, tell me something fun.”
I sat back down on the bed, half-leaning as I reached for another can, but Aro quickly snatched it away.
“…What kind of story?”
“I don’t know, something about what you’ve been doing. Editing isn’t my concern. How about a story from your part-time job? Like the first time you interviewed with that lady boss.”
Feeling the room spin a little, I lay flat on the bed, listening to Aro talk.
“Well… the high school kid working there switched to weekends only, so I just kind of slid into the spot.”
“Ugh, not that boring stuff. Talk about how nervous you were in front of the manager.”
I chuckled softly.
“Well… it was my first job, so… ugh.”
Embarrassed, Aro grabbed my beer but still couldn’t drink it properly.
“And what were you even wearing back then? A suit?”
“Just a hoodie…”
“Are you doing okay there, though?”
“Probably…?”
“Good, good. Work hard until you can make coffee as good as Su-yeon’s.”
“…Oh…”
“Oh, by the way, this time, the editing’s going to take at least ten hours, so brace yourself.”
“…Don’t you think I deserve to get paid for this?”
“I’ll talk to them.”
The conversation dwindled, and silence filled the room for a while.
A man and a woman sat in the same space, staring at each other wordlessly.
“Hey.”
“…What.”
“Want to try something new?”
Aro flinched slightly at my words, his expression shifting subtly.
I laughed at his inability to respond.
“Haha, just kidding~”
“…Do you say things like that to everyone?”
Aro took another sip of beer, his words hesitant.
“No, I’m actually a proper lady.”
“Hey! You’re—”
“Shut up. I’m going to sleep now. Get out. Or are you staying over?”
“Kooo…”

Kim Joo-hyuk POV
Aro, whose real name was Kim Joo-hyuk, let out a deep sigh as he looked at Eun-ah, who had fallen asleep on his bed.
Turning back to his chair, he slipped on his headset and grabbed his mouse.
Unnecessarily upbeat music played as he began editing portions of the video that didn’t need much work, enduring a long night.
Just how many times he glanced back at the girl sleeping on his bed, her face flushed from the alcohol, was something only Aro himself would ever know.
