Chapter 465: Pre-S3 Bahrain Grand Prix
[Ding!]
[Car, chassis, and engine detected.]
[Would you like to select <Scuderia Z24 (Sigma Core V1)> as your designated car?]
[Y / N]
[Successfully selected!]
[<Scuderia Z24 (Sigma Core V1)> has been successfully registered as host's new car]
[Car Status has been updated!]
After promptly registering the Z24 into the system, Luca ardently waited for the posterior notification that would issue him some rewarding tools.
After registering the 97 over the 92B back then, Luca received (3) Wrenches and (+3) Site-wide Car EXP. And even when he registered the 92B over the F2 04, he received a single Wrench.
Unfortunately, no rewards were ratified after registering the Z24, and Luca waited unattended. After a long stretch, he inquired about the unissued rewards, but the system replied with a rather logical response that he believed made some sense.
All this while, he had been ascending in engineering capabilities, climbing from one chassis to a better one. The system felicitated this rise, up until now, where he statistically descended in engineering package.
Sadly, it couldn't reward that.
"I understand. Let's proceed to usurp the entire data and resume progress."
[Do you wish to supplant the current Car Status data with the previous?]
[Note: System has detected that current car (Scuderia Z24) is poorer in comparison to (JRX-97)]
[System suggestion: Supplant ✓]
[YES / NO]
[YES! Selected!]
[Preempting Car Status.....]
[Task completed]
"Back to where I stopped. The only difference now will be engine capabilities. The features I have now are better, but the engine is generally slower...but I can take that kryptonite for Trampos."
"Show Car Status."
[..... Generation complete.]

(Note: Difference between Kinetic Recycling of ThunderKat and Heat-Energy Recycling of Sigma is that Kinetic Recycling recovers energy from braking, while Sigma's system recovers heat from the engine to boost power. Kinetic Recycling is generally more effective for short bursts because it harvests high-energy braking moments. However, heat energy recovery offers consistent recharge throughout the race, especially races that strongly support overheating.)
After the overriding and supplanting process was over, Luca's Car Status was updated, and he was back on track. Now, the Scuderia Z24 was actually better than the JRX-97.
Luca knew he had the potential to aggrandize the prowess of the Z24 using the tools he had accumulated over the past four months. But he had to be patient in order to use the tools during a race, thereby subsequently filling up the Sync Bar for that race.
The saddest thing about it was that no matter how many tools he had assembled and had stored, he could only invest in one single Sync Buff per activation, since Tools were programmed to expire upon any Sync Buff activation.
[Current Inventory:
—Catalysts: 7
—Wrenches: 5
—Tokens: 0.4 ]
Assuming that regulation was not in place, Luca could have easily made up to four Sync Buffs in four different races by simply investing accordingly.
He still remembered his administrative privileges, and how he had the power to Edit this precept and change it to his liking. Luca thought it'd be one of the first things he would try out, and not even increasing Sync Buff duration.
Five minutes was more often enough than inadequate. If he could increase the frequency of accomplishing Sync Buffs and boost his chances of winning races; thereby attaining more Tools and Tokens, it would be far better than just increasing the main duration itself.
(Note: Note: Token prices have been reduced. While the Creator and Editor features are set to continue Luca's journey when this novel ends, it would be great for him to Create or Edit at least one or two things before this season ends. Hence, the pricing has been adjusted.)
--------
In Trampos HQ, the sun was fully risen when it was time for Luca and Victor to begin on-track drills.
Victor was still emerging from rundowns, training outlines, and light grid-reaction exercises meant to warm him up again after an hour-long break from their earlier physical routines.
Luca, on the other hand, was just stepping out of the simulation room to join the small crowd already gathered around the sunbathed track. It was one activity after the other for him, without even the slightest thought or inclination to rest in between.
Hours of simulating didn't affect his vision, but the moment the sole of his boots struck the asphalt, he paused and winced in silent agony. The sun's blazing sheen on the tarmac was scorching and intense, piercing straight through his pupils the moment he glanced at the shiny glare.
The entire Trampos crew, who were huddled by the engineering building at the side of the track, stared with admiration at their own hero and star as he strode confidently toward them, head still lowered.
Some whispered observations they had already once gossiped about, while most chose to let the analysis quietly swirl in their heads instead.
Luca looked incredibly handsome and elegant in the Trampos racing suit. Red had always suited him, but it still felt somewhat strange especially since so many photos of him in Jackson's silver, black, and blue remained uploaded everywhere. Still, the team believed they'd eventually get used to it.
Luca felt a brief, piercing pain shoot somewhere into his skull, so he kept his head down even as he climbed the paved steps to meet the crew. Only after stepping under the shade did he lift his gaze, eyes filled with a quiet enthusiasm even though his face stayed neutral.
"What do we have on the table?"
For many days now, what the team usually had "on the table" was specifically prescribed to train Victor and push him toward greatness. This had been Luca's idea—he had suggested it directly to Mr. Grant and Ms. Vallotton.
Even though Luca was a massive asset who could dramatically shift Trampos' trajectory, he didn't have the right to dictate how things would be run. Still, Mr. Grant and Ms. Vallotton agreed fully with his vision.
The trainings and drills would include both drivers, but they were split 70% toward improving Victor and 30% toward sharpening Luca.
[SYNCHRONIZING HOST....]
[SYNCHRONIZATION COMPLETE]
[Host is now synched with Ferrari (Scuderia Z24)]
It felt nostalgic to see the Formula 1 System's interface in red once again.
