My Formula 1 System

Chapter 502: Great Great Britannia. 2

Race Day: Mar. 24, Stadhaven, London, United Kingdom.

"...Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Stadhaven Circuit for Round 4 of the 20XX Formula One World Championship—the British Grand Prix! What a weekend it has already been here in the UK. What a stimulating atmosphere it is here...!"

"...we can remember last year's chaos all too well. It was a personified one that left a stigma on the drivers till this day! Red flag glass debris incident that claimed three cars, and the fiery nationality clash! Well, if the build-up to today is anything to go by, we could be in for something just as dramatic, if not more. Ten constructors, twenty cars, and nothing but tension simmering on this legendary ribbon of tarmac...!"

"...Before lights out, let's take a quick look at the provisional Constructors' standings: Squadra Corse still leads with 76 points, but Trampos Racing—yes, the German outfit everyone thought would remain bottom-tier—has stormed up to second on 65 points after a phenomenal run right from the start of this season...!"

"...Haddock Racing slips to third with 49, while Outback Performance climbs to fourth on 40. It's a tight mid-field scrap with Bueseno Velocità hanging on in fifth at 35 points. From Jackson Racing in sixth down to Alpine Swiss at the bottom, every single point matters..."

"WOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!"

"...for our starting grid today, the qualifying session was a wild ride. Trampos owes Rennick everything this season and they know it. The young man continues his meteoric rise by claiming P3 behind Antonio Luigi and Ailbeart Moireach!"

"...Marko Ignatova and Buoso Di Renzo both kissed the barriers in Q3, dropping to P19 and P20 respectively—the first time Ignatova has started that low in over two seasons. Squadra Corse may have pole, but they've got one car in the basement, and that will shake things up..."

"...Twenty cars, fifty-two laps, and one winner. This is the British Grand Prix—live from Stadhaven..!"

"Luca, P3 on the grid—strong position heading into the race. How are you feeling right now?"

"Calm, focused. We've got a solid strategy, so it's all about execution today."

"You've been closing the gap for Trampos on the top teams all season. Do you think today's the day Trampos challenges for the win?"

"We'll see. The pace is there, but this track demands perfection. We'll take our chances when they come."

"Any concerns about tire degradation or weather?"

"Every team makes sure to integrate possible sporadic changes into the strategy. Since conditions look stable, I guess the main plan stays the same."

Luca listened to one of his favorite songs as he readied for the race. After a long week of prepping for the British GP, he already had an internal image of Stadhaven engraved in his mind. Just like other tracks, Stadhaven had names for its turns and straights (complex info, not necessary), and Luca was amused when he realized he could turn those names into a melody if he sang them in a particular tone.

The system sparked without any prior indication.

-Depression.]

'Depression?"'

Luca laughed at that response from the system.

'And how will you be able to issue that if I do fail?'

[By lowering your dopamine levels]

Luca frowned after that reply. "That feels illegal…"

'I can't get depressed, low or afford to ever crash mentally because everyone literally leans and sucks from me. Trampos draws strength from me, and if I drop in spirit, so do they. If I let myself break, the whole chain follows... everyone in my family included.'

'Don't worry, system. You wouldn't even have to think of issuing it.'

Luca reckoned 4 Catalysts and 1 Wrench would be enough to make up Sync Buff, especially if he attained a few points organically. With them, he'd invest in Sync Buff and override the upper hand Luigi and Ailbeart had over him.

Furthermore, (+1) Reward for Tire Wear Management would take the Car Attribute to (30). All Car Attributes would then reach (30), and a new skill would subsequently be unlocked.

The race was set to begin in under an hour, and Luca saw no reason not to win. Mrs. Rennick, Mr. Schafer, Isabella, and the Hawthorne family were in attendance, lounging in the same grand suite. Luca knew it would be incredible to grab the UK Grand Prix trophy for the first time in his F1 career.

During the immediate lead-up to lights out, something unbelievable happened. And this occurred even after the drivers had sprinted, warmed their cars, and flexed their fingers for the main action. It all transpired just before the announcement for the grid formation rang out!

You see, security stationed along the pitlane gantry and the glass-fronted paddock terrace—where team suites, hospitality lounges, and media decks overlook the garages—were locked in on the VIP arrivals and the glittering celebrity grid walk. The British GP was overflowing with such appearances this year. Even the royal family attended once again, quietly hoping that what happened last year wouldn't dare repeat itself.

And then it happened. In the middle of all this formality and pomp, a coordinated protest group of fifteen to twenty infiltrated the paddock disguised as junior staff. They were Jackson Racing loyalists, and their intention was to condemn Trampos Racing, the German team.

Just before the formation lap for the grid, they began to create a scene; chanting and shoving marshals the moment they were confronted, throwing the most controlled part of Stadhaven into sudden chaos!

By all means, the teams had every right to be stunned by what just unfolded. The atmosphere had galvanized from controlled elegance to near-chaos in mere seconds, and that kind of unpredictability rattled even the most seasoned principals.

For Trampos, since they were the target, it made the entire ordeal even more unbelievable considering how the majority of the crowd—English—roared in support for the thrill of the disruption. Trampos were branded with names like "Fraud Squad," "German Grease Monkeys," "Plastic Team," and "Blob Club."

Racial slurs were, sadly, nothing new in the world of motorsport—an ugly stain the FIA had fought for decades to erase but never truly eradicated. In a sport fueled by national pride and billion-dollar rivalries, tensions often bled into tribalism, and sometimes that venom spilled into racism.

Since this was Britain, the minority presence of German fans felt drowned out in a sea of home support, and that imbalance gave the mob a louder voice. Jackson Racing, mostly since Haddock preferred to remain quiet, decided to lash out their anger on the team that snatched Luca away from them.

They were not attacking Luca at all, but only Trampos because, despite the chaos, the British crowd still adored him. His short tenure with Jackson had left a sweet aftertaste they couldn't scrub away, and no matter how fiercely they despised the German outfit, they couldn't bring themselves to hate the man who had given them unforgettable moments.

It wasn't like Italy, where resentment toward Luca burned raw and personal; here, the loathing was aimed squarely at the badge and the team that "stole" their rising star.

Luca had once again found himself in another conflict. The banners being lofted high in denunciation of Trampos Racing said it all.

"..And what an extraordinary twist we had before lights out today at Stadhaven.."

"...fans disguised as junior staff stormed through security, targeting Trampos Racing with chants, banners, and language the FIA will want scrubbed from every broadcast..."

"...Absolutely, and let's not sugarcoat it. This isn't what Formula 1 wants to showcase, but when passion boils over like this, especially here in Britain with emotions running high, these things erupt..."

Eventually, order was wrestled back from the chaos. Security doubled their presence along the pitlane, the FIA issued stern warnings over the paddock radio, and the last of the protesters were dragged out under a storm of jeers and flashing cameras.

The kind of orderliness Stadhaven was historically reputed for—not of recent events—was restored by track crew who moved swiftly to erase the mess the protesters left behind. However, in the grandstands, the fever didn't die down; voices still carried through the cool British air, a mix of chants, boos, and defiant cheers that clung stubbornly to the spectacle. Even as the grid lined up in perfect symmetry, the stands continued to pulse, refusing to let Trampos forget they were treading on foreign soil.
