My Hero Academia: The Dragon's Quirk

Chapter 109: Chapter 109 : The Storm Named Deku and the Role of the Guardians

My command echoed amidst the chaos, a desperate attempt to bring some order to the impending madness. "Our job now... is to make sure our hero doesn't destroy himself and everyone around him. Brace yourselves."

As the words left my mouth, Izuku Midoriya, with Eri on his back, let out a roar that was no longer human. It was the roar of pure power, a symphony of nine generations of accumulated strength, now unleashed without restraint.

The entire underground chamber trembled. A dazzling green and golden energy exploded from his body, so powerful it created a small hurricane around him. The ground beneath his feet cracked and turned to dust just from the pressure. He was no longer just using One For All; he had become One For All itself, a living storm whose embodiment was absolute power.

Overhaul, in his horrific monster form, looked surprised for the first time. He sensed a power that was equal to, or perhaps even surpassed, that of his master, All For One. "Impossible!" he growled. "What kind of power is this?!"

He didn't wait for an answer. He deconstructed the floor around him, creating dozens of giant concrete spikes that shot toward Midoriya like missiles.

But Midoriya no longer dodged. He just moved forward. With a small push from his feet, he shot forward, and every concrete spike that blocked his path disintegrated into dust before it even touched him, obliterated by his overwhelming aura of power. He slammed into Overhaul with a single punch.

BOOM!

The impact was an apocalyptic event. The shockwave tore through the air, throwing all of us back. I felt my partial armor groan under the pressure. Ryukyu, in her dragon form, had to dig her claws deep into the ground to keep from being pushed back. Overhaul himself was thrown backward, part of his monstrous mass destroyed, though it quickly began to regenerate.

The battle of gods had begun, and we were all just insects trying not to get stepped on.

"CHANGE OF PLANS!" I yelled through the communicator, my voice barely audible over the roar of the battle. "Forget about attacking Overhaul! Focus on damage mitigation! Todoroki, Iida, you two focus on the injured heroes! Get Sir Nighteye and Mirio as far away from here as possible!"

In another corner, Todoroki and Iida moved immediately. They were young professionals, able to adapt quickly. Iida carefully lifted the gravely injured body of Sir Nighteye, while Todoroki created a smooth ice path for them to traverse, occasionally making ice walls to block the debris falling from the ceiling. "We have to get him to the medical team on the surface!" Iida said, his voice tense but determined.

"Ryukyu-san, Kirishima!" I continued. "We need a shield! A wall! Anything to keep this shockwave from bringing the whole place down!"

Ryukyu roared in agreement. She used her massive dragon body, not to attack, but to support the most fragile part of the ceiling, her muscles straining under the pressure of thousands of tons of concrete. Kirishima, below her, activated his Unbreakable form and became a living pillar, holding back the smaller chunks that managed to get past Ryukyu's protection. He gritted his teeth, feeling every impact like a sledgehammer blow.

"Uraraka-chan! Tsuyu-chan!" I called out. "The casualties! Chisaki dropped some of his unconscious subordinates when he transformed! Make sure they don't get buried alive!"

In the midst of the chaos, the two girls became an efficient rescue team. Uraraka touched large chunks of concrete, making them float harmlessly, while Tsuyu used her long tongue to pull the unconscious bodies to safety. "I got one!" Uraraka reported. "Bring him to the corridor we just passed, kero!" Tsuyu replied. They worked in perfect harmony, an island of calm in a sea of destruction.

Nejire, who had now recovered some of her strength, flew above me. "What about me, Tatsumi-kun?! What can I do?!"

"You're our firefighter!" I replied, pointing toward Midoriya and Overhaul, whose clashes were now creating incredible heat. "Use your Wave Motion not to attack, but to create dispersing shockwaves! Push their destructive energy upward, away from us! You are our crowd control!"

Nejire grinned, her eyes shining with energy again. "Good idea! I like it!" She began to release controlled spiral waves of energy, acting as a giant, invisible buffer.

And then, there was Akame. She didn't need my orders. She moved with her own purpose. She was no longer focused on Overhaul. She knew that fight was beyond her reach. Instead, she became a ghost on the battlefield. She darted between the shadows, and every time one of us was about to be hit by falling debris or a stray attack, she would appear, her sword would flash to parry the danger, and then she would disappear again. She was no longer an ally; she was a shadow guardian, ensuring that we, these clumsy heroes, stayed alive long enough to do our jobs.

As for me, I didn't fight. I didn't rescue. I became the eye of the storm. I stood on an ice pillar created by Todoroki, manifesting armor on my feet to maintain balance amidst the constant tremors. From my position, I could see the entire battlefield. I became the command center, coordinating every move of our improvised team.

"Todoroki, the wall on your right is cracking! Reinforce it now! Ryukyu, there's pressure from above! Be careful! Midoriya is moving left, prepare for impact!" I yelled into the communicator.

I watched Midoriya's fight with a mixture of awe and fear. He was truly a force of nature. He was no longer thinking. He was just moving, each punch carrying the power to level a mountain. But I also saw the effect of Eri's Quirk. With every devastating blow he delivered, his shattered body would be instantly 'rewound' to perfect condition by Eri's power. But sometimes, the rewinding was too strong. I saw flashes where he seemed slightly younger, slightly shorter, before returning to his normal form. He could be erased from existence if this went on for too long.

I also realized something else. The primal hatred I felt from Incursio toward Overhaul... now felt different. It was no longer just hatred. It was... hunger. Every time Overhaul used his Quirk, disassembling and reassembling matter, I felt Incursio pulse. As if it recognized the process. As if it were a distorted version of its own ability to adapt and evolve. And it wanted it. It wanted to absorb it, to understand it. This was a new, terrifying mystery, a thread I would have to unravel later.

The fight reached its climax. Midoriya managed to land a direct hit that destroyed most of Overhaul's monster form, revealing the injured, original body of Chisaki within.

It was then that I saw it. Our chance. Overhaul was wounded. Midoriya was at the peak of his power. But Eri... she was starting to lose control. Her healing energy was exploding erratically.

I knew we had to end this. Now.

I took a deep breath, preparing to give my final command. This was our biggest gamble. I looked at everyone, at our impossible alliance fighting together in the middle of this man-made hell.

"EVERYONE!" I roared, my voice cutting through the din of battle. "THIS IS THE FINAL PLAN! LISTEN CAREFULLY!"

I saw everyone turn toward me, waiting. I saw the trust in their eyes.

"WHEN I GIVE THE COMMAND..."

I paused for a moment, waiting for the perfect moment, as Midoriya prepared his final attack. In the absolute chaos, there was one moment of perfect clarity. And when that moment arrived, I gave my command, a sentence that would decide the end of this battle.

"Do it... now."
