My Ice-King : Hanamitchi

Chapter 46: chapter 46

Yuri: "Do you want me to be by your side every morning?"

His voice was low, almost hesitant—like he was afraid of the answer, even though he already knew it.

Y/N smiled softly, her fingers tracing gentle circles on his chest as she nodded.

"Umm… that's all I want."

She looked up into his eyes, her voice barely a whisper.

"You're my safe place, Yuri."

There was a silence—

not heavy, not tense—

but full of something electric.

Yuri's breath hitched.

He stared into her eyes, his heart beating faster, like it knew what was coming before his lips even moved.

"Y/N…"

"Hmm?" she answered, meeting his gaze.

He sat up slightly, cupping her face with both hands, his expression raw—unfiltered.

"Marry me."

"Marry me, please. I can't wait any longer, Y/N."

His voice cracked.

"I almost lost you. And now that you're back—I don't want to waste another second."

Y/N froze for a second—eyes wide, heart racing.

Then a tear rolled down her cheek, and she smiled—shaking, overwhelmed, but full of love.

She leaned up and kissed him softly.

Her eyes shimmered with tears, a soft laugh escaping her lips as she looked at him—completely overwhelmed, yet glowing with love.

She wiped the corner of her eye with the back of her hand and whispered through a gentle, teasing smile—

"Proposal in bed?"

Yuri chuckled, his forehead leaning against hers.

"Couldn't wait to get out of bed first."

He kissed her nose.

"Didn't need a ring, didn't need a plan… I just needed you to say yes."

She laughed softly, her heart fluttering.

"Well… it's perfect. It's so us."

He smiled, wrapping his arms around her tighter.

A bed, a confession, a future.

No fancy lights.

No audience.

Just them.

And that was more than enough.

Y/N smiled through the tears sparkling in her eyes, her voice barely holding steady as she whispered,

"Yuri… babe… I'll be your Mrs. Hanamitchi."

She placed her hand over his heart.

"I love you."

Yuri's breath caught in his throat.

The words hit him deeper than anything ever had.

Tears welled up in his eyes, then spilled—silent and heavy.

Without saying a word, he leaned in and kissed her—

desperately, tenderly, like he was pouring every emotion he'd ever felt for her into that single moment.

It was raw.

It was real.

And it was everything they had fought for.

Their broken pieces, finally fitting back together.

Time Skip – Two Days Later

For two full days, the world outside didn't exist.

No missions.

No phones.

No chaos.

Just Yuri and Y/N inside the hideout—

sleeping in, slow mornings, quiet meals, soft laughter, and the kind of peace that felt like a dream neither of them wanted to wake up from.

Wrapped in each other's arms, they healed—

bit by bit.

Wounds didn't vanish, but they finally began to close.

But eventually, reality knocked gently.

And it was time.

Afternoon – Hanamitchi Estate

Yuri drove with one hand on the wheel, the other gently holding Y/N's fingers.

They didn't say much—

they didn't need to.

When they finally arrived, the gates opened.

The house stood the same, but everything felt different now.

Mr. Haru Hanamitchi was waiting at the entrance, his usual composed expression calm—yet his eyes hinted at relief and something heavier beneath.

Yuri stepped out first, opening the door for Y/N.

She took a deep breath and walked toward the man who, behind all the plans and silence, had known far more than he ever said.

Mr. Hanamitchi:

"Welcome home… both of you."

Yuri stood beside Y/N, his hand gently placed at her back.

"We need to talk, Dad." Yuri said firmly.

His tone wasn't angry—just steady.

"Everything. No more secrets."

Mr. Hanamitchi gave a small nod, turning toward the house.

"Come in. It's time."

They entered the grand hall—still quiet, still filled with that old scent of books, dust, and legacy.

The three of them sat down on the long leather couch.

The silence stretched only for a moment.

Y/N glanced at Mr. Hanamitchi with genuine softness in her eyes.

"Thank you, Uncle Haru."

Mr. Hanamitchi gave a small, rare smile.

"It's my responsibility, Y/N."

His voice was calm, almost warm, like someone who had been carrying a weight behind the scenes for far too long.

But Yuri's brows furrowed.

The warmth in the room felt like a secret he wasn't a part of.

"Dad… why thank you?" Yuri asked sharply, eyes flicking between the two.

He looked at Y/N, then back at his father, confusion growing in his voice.

"She's changed so much I can barely recognize her. I was worried sick. And now you two are just sitting here like everything's normal?"

His voice cracked a little near the end—anger, fear, love, all tangled up.

Mr. Hanamitchi leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, fingers clasped.

Mr. Hanamitchi looked at Yuri, the weight of years in his voice.

"I did what I had to… to protect her. To give her a chance to take back what was stolen from her. And to keep you safe, too."

Mr. Hanamitchi leaned back slightly, his gaze now softer as he looked at his son. His voice lowered, filled with quiet honesty.

"I was about to train her further… I had plans to sharpen her more, to make sure she wouldn't fall apart on the battlefield…"

He paused, glancing at Y/N for a moment before returning his eyes to Yuri.

"…But my boy—you started to fade from the world."

Yuri's eyes narrowed slightly, his jaw tense. Mr. Hanamitchi continued.

"You walked like a ghost. You didn't talk to anyone. You buried yourself in missions like you were trying to disappear."

He sighed deeply, something rare and unfamiliar for a man always composed.

"That's when I realized… I could train Y/N to be strong, but if I lost you in the process, what would be the point?"

Yuri looked away, emotions stirring under the surface—anger, guilt, confusion.

"So I gave her space to finish what she had to do," Haru said gently, "but I also waited… for the right moment to bring you both back together."

Y/N reached over, her fingers brushing Yuri's hand.

He didn't pull away.

"I saw you break, Yuri…" she said quietly.

"But I also knew I had to become strong enough to hold you together when we met again."

And for the first time in two years, Yuri finally understood:

She didn't leave him behind.

She was fighting for him the entire time.

Y/N leaned in slightly, her voice quiet but steady, her eyes locked onto Yuri's.

"Yuri… do you remember that mission six months ago?"

"The one with the East China syndicate… on the boat."

Yuri's eyes narrowed as he replayed that memory—

guns, chaos, water splashing, smoke in the air.

Yuri furrowed his brows, trying to place her words with the memory.

Yuri: "Umm… yes, I remember… That mission was intense. The attackers were ruthless. Someone was thrown off the side and I—"

He stopped mid-sentence. His eyes slowly widened, realization dawning.

Y/N: (softly, but firmly) "That was me, Yuri. I was the one they tried to drown."

She looked into his eyes, her voice trembling just slightly, but her gaze was steady.

Y/N: "You pulled me out from that freezing water. I was hurt, my face was covered, I couldn't speak—but I saw you. I felt you. That night… we fought side by side, Yuri. I met you. But I couldn't say anything."

Yuri took a step back, stunned, his heart racing as he pieced it together.

Yuri: "No way… That fighter, the one with the sharp reflexes—who didn't say a single word all night…"

Y/N gave a small nod, the corners of her lips twitching into a faint smile.

Y/N: "That was me. I wanted to break the rules and tell you, but I had to follow the mission. I couldn't risk blowing everything."

Yuri: (quietly) "All this time… we were fighting together. And I didn't even know it."

Y/N: "But I knew, Yuri. I knew you were there. And it gave me the strength to keep going."

He stared at her, speechless—his heart aching with the weight of that revelation.

Yuri: "You were closer than I ever imagined… and I didn't even recognize the woman I never stopped missing."

Yuri's heart clenched as he looked into her eyes—so full of fire, strength, and love. She wasn't the same girl who once trembled at gunshots. She had changed, grown harder, but deep down… she was still his.

Y/N: (soft but firm) "Now I can overcome anything, Yuri. So please… don't worry about me anymore."

She reached out and gently touched his chest, where his heart raced beneath his shirt.

"I'll fight with you. Till the very end."

A small, emotional smile curved her lips.

"I'm yours anyway."

Yuri couldn't speak at first, the lump in his throat growing too tight. Instead, he pulled her into his arms and held her against him, pressing his forehead to hers.

Yuri: (whispering) "You've always been mine. And I've always been yours."

Haru: (clearing his throat loudly) "Ahemm… ahemm…"

Yuri and Y/N snapped out of their moment, eyes widening slightly as they turned toward him, clearly embarrassed.

Y/N: (quickly pulling back, flustered) "S-Sorry, Uncle…"

Haru: (smirking slightly) "It's okay, child. You've been through enough… you deserve your moment."

Yuri scratched the back of his neck awkwardly while Y/N straightened herself, trying to regain composure.

Haru: (voice turning more serious) "So, Y/N… when will you join the company officially? I've kept your place secured, but time waits for no one."

Y/N: (confidently, with a sharp glint in her eyes) "Tomorrow. I'll report in… without notice. I want to see who's been slacking, and what they've done in my absence."

Haru: (raising a brow, impressed) "Still sharp as ever. That's the Y/N I trained."

Yuri: (grinning now, proud and amused) "Remind me never to get on your bad side at work…"

Y/N: (playfully) "Too late, you already did… two years ago."

They all laughed—but behind that laughter was a quiet understanding…
