[My Immortal Diary]

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Broken Hand

"What should we do?" Little Fatty asked with a tearful expression, looking helplessly at Su Hao and He Qingqing.

It was obvious that Little Fatty's money had been stolen, and he had no idea who had taken it. At this point, how could they even find the culprit?

Su Hao shook his head and said, "What else can we do? Qingqing and I will help you out a bit. We'll eat and drink less, and we can get through this."

"Nooo∼!" wailed Little Fatty.

He Qingqing, fuming with anger, said, "If I find out who stole my money, I'll break their hand!"

Su Hao turned to He Qingqing and asked, "You didn't leave your money in the dorm, did you?"

He Qingqing shook her head. "No, my father specifically told me to keep it on me at all times."

Little Fatty sighed in frustration, "Why didn't my dad tell me that..."

Ignoring him, Su Hao spoke to He Qingqing, "Even carrying it on you isn't completely safe. You have to stay alert."

He Qingqing nodded.

Su Hao, deep in thought, accessed his marble space, issuing an order to [Cosmic Light]: 'Extract the data from before and after leaving the room.'

[Data extraction successful.]

[Compare for differences...]

[Comparison... complete.]

[Unidentified footprints and unclear fingerprints detected.]

[Footprints recorded. Fingerprint patterns are unclear, please collect again.]

Following [Cosmic Light]'s guidance, Su Hao picked up an object that had the fingerprint on it and held it up to examine closely.

[...Fingerprint recorded.]

Exiting the Marble UI (User interface), Su Hao walked out of the dorm, calling out, "Qingqing, Little Fatty, let's go."

Little Fatty, still dejected, followed behind, asking, "Where are we going?"

"To find someone," Su Hao replied curtly, not elaborating further.

He Qingqing asked curiously, "Are we going to find the thief?"

Su Hao nodded. "Yes."

"How are you going to find them?"

"I have my ways." Without further explanation, Su Hao issued another order to [Cosmic Light]: '[Search for the unidentified footprints and fingerprints.]'

[Cosmic Light] quickly responded, marking the locations of the unidentified footprints in Su Hao's field of vision with red circles or suspected locations.

Under the skeptical gazes of He Qingqing and Little Fatty, Su Hao led them, following the trail. When the footprints disappeared, he expanded the search until the trail resumed.

Before long, the three of them arrived at a restaurant outside the Warrior Academy.

The restaurant staff eagerly greeted them with a smile, "Welcome! Please come in. What would you like to eat? We have everything you need."

Su Hao shook his head, "We're not here to eat. We're looking for someone. You can go about your business."

The staff member, slightly disappointed, replied, "Alright, feel free to look around."

Little Fatty and He Qingqing anxiously followed behind Su Hao, barely daring to breathe. They wouldn't have dared to enter on their own, but seeing Su Hao so calm and unfazed, they couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration.

On the second floor, Su Hao quickly located his target—a short-haired man with an average build. He looked like he had practiced martial arts, likely a warrior. His appearance wasn't striking, but his smile was too broad, causing his facial features to bunch up awkwardly. He was seated at a table full of food, along with two companions who were even bulkier than him. All that remained was to confirm the fingerprints.

The short-haired man was currently bragging to his companions, laughing heartily, "It's been tough these past two years. I haven't come across such an easy mark in a while. I was just taking a chance, following him, but who would've thought I'd get lucky today? I made a nice haul!"

His companion chimed in, "You really lucked out today. We didn't have much success, but thanks to you, we're enjoying this feast."

The short-haired man puffed out his chest proudly, "That's right! This score will let me live comfortably for at least a month."

"Come on, let's drink to more success."

"Cheers∼!"

The three clinked their glasses and were about to take a drink when—

"Sorry to interrupt, I need to confirm something."

A youthful but mature-sounding voice interrupted them.

The trio turned to find a boy around ten years old standing beside their table. The short-haired man frowned impatiently and barked, "Scram! Don't bother your uncles while they're drinking."

He reached out to push Su Hao aside.

Without hesitation, Su Hao grabbed the short-haired man's hand and twisted it upwards.

[Fingerprint match confirmed.]

Su Hao smiled brightly and said, "Got you! Now, hand over the money you stole."

The short-haired man was startled and tried to pull his hand back but couldn't. Hearing Su Hao's words, he shouted, "You little brat! What do you think you're doing? Let go of your uncle's hand right now!"

Su Hao smirked, "Still don't remember, huh?"

He turned to Little Fatty and motioned, "Little Fatty, come over here and take a look."

The short-haired man finally noticed Little Fatty standing nearby.

Realizing the situation had taken a turn for the worse, he started to panic. But before he could react, his two companions stood up, reaching for Su Hao while shouting, "Are you looking for trouble, kid? Looks like you need a beating. Let us teach you a lesson for your parents!"

Without even glancing at them, Su Hao swiftly kicked out with precise strikes, sending both men flying into a nearby pillar. They fell to the floor, groaning in pain, unable to get back up for a while.

The commotion caused the other diners to jump up in surprise, quickly moving to the sides to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

The restaurant's staff hurried over but didn't dare get too close. The panicked server stammered, "What's going on here? Please stop, let's not hurt anyone."

Su Hao turned and gave the server a calm smile. "Give me a moment. This will be over soon."

Then, he turned coldly back to the short-haired man. "So, do you know what I'm after now? Hand over the stolen money!"

The short-haired man still tried to deny it. "Money? What money? You've got the wrong person."

Su Hao didn't bother arguing further. With a swift twist of his wrist—

"Crack∼!!"

The short-haired man's hand was broken, and a piercing scream filled the room.

Little Fatty flinched, his heart skipping a beat, while He Qingqing bit her lip, clenching her fists tightly. It was clear she was deeply shocked. In her mind, she wondered, 'Did Su Hao break his hand because I said I wanted to break the thief's hand?'

The other diners held their breath for a moment. This boy, who looked so young and innocent, had casually broken someone's hand. Such ruthlessness!

Both Little Fatty and He Qingqing had the same question running through their minds: 'How was Xiangwu so sure that this man was the thief? What if he was wrong?'

Su Hao didn't keep them in suspense for long. After breaking the short-haired man's hand and ignoring his pleas for mercy, Su Hao flipped him over and pinned him to the ground. He quickly searched the man's body and pulled out three coin pouches.

Su Hao held up the pouches and asked Little Fatty, "Which one's yours?"

Little Fatty's eyes lit up as he rushed forward, grabbing one of the bags. Holding the full pouch close to his chest, he looked like he was about to cry tears of joy. The feeling of getting back what he thought was lost made him so emotional he almost wanted to kneel down and hug Su Hao's legs in gratitude.

At this point, any doubts they had about Su Hao picking the wrong person vanished.

The surrounding diners also seemed to understand what had happened. Their pity for the short-haired man turned into mockery as they whispered and pointed at him.

The short-haired man continued to beg for mercy.

Su Hao weighed the remaining two coin pouches in his hand and smiled slightly.

The short-haired man, thinking Su Hao was about to let him go, felt a flicker of hope.

But Su Hao raised his foot and stomped down on the man's other hand.

"Crack∼!!"

Another agonizing scream echoed as the man's second hand was broken.

The restaurant worker, now in a panic, looked at Su Hao and hesitated, "Uh… about the meal… the meal bill…"

Seeing his concern, Su Hao went over to the two companions of the short-haired man, rifled through their belongings, and found some silver shillings. He tossed them to the server, asking, "Is this enough?"

The server immediately smiled and nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, more than enough!"
