[My Immortal Diary]

Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Terrifying

The second-year training field was in complete chaos. People were continuously being sent flying into the air, followed by cries of pain as they crashed to the ground.

Amidst the pandemonium, a blurred figure darted left and right, their movements unpredictable. Wherever this figure appeared, screams followed, accompanied by bodies being flung away.

It was none other than Su Hao, wreaking havoc.

Su Hao realized that he thoroughly enjoyed the sensation of launching people into the sky. It was almost like playing golf.

Although he'd never played golf before, it didn't stop him from enjoying the smooth, fluid feeling of sending people flying. Plus, it was an effective way to intimidate his future opponents—a win-win situation.

As long as he controlled his strength and angle, he could achieve the effect of flinging people away without causing too much damage to them.

Thus, Su Hao's classmates secretly gave him a somewhat subtle nickname: "Wu Xiangwu the Violent Sky."

In less than ten minutes, there was no one left standing in the area.

It wasn't that Su Hao had beaten everyone down, but many people, in their panic, had voluntarily stayed down.

They had discovered that as long as they stayed down and admitted defeat, Su Hao wouldn't strike again. However, those who dared to get up after being knocked down were met with even more severe beatings.

Seeing that no one was getting back up, Su Hao brushed the dust off his body and walked straight towards the edge of the training ground.

In his mind, he was contemplating whether he should head to the third-year students' territory and take care of them all at once. That way, it would save him the trouble of dealing with a third-year students tomorrow, a fourth-year students the day after, and so on. It would never end otherwise.

As he passed by a young boy lying on the ground, Su Hao stopped and asked, "By the way, let me ask you, where's the training ground for the third-year students?"

The boy, trembling in fear, glanced up at Su Hao and stammered, "W-what do you plan to do?"

Su Hao frowned and asked, "Are you asking me a question or am I asking?"

"N-no, of course not!" The boy quickly shook his head.

"Then answer my question."

The boy swallowed hard and, still lying on the ground, replied, "The third-year students aren't in the academy anymore. At the start of the term, they were sent to an outpost in the wilderness. They'll probably return a month before the annual competition."

"I see. Thanks!" Su Hao, enlightened, thanked the boy and walked away.

The boy, left in a daze, muttered to himself, "Th-thank me? Did he just thank me?"

Suddenly, he realized that being beaten wasn't all that unbearable.

....

Soon enough, the story of Su Hao single-handedly defeating all the second-year students spread like wildfire. Not only were the students talking about it, but even the teachers were buzzing with gossip.

"Old Liu, your student Wu Xiangwu really stirred up some trouble, huh? I heard he took down all the second-year students by himself! Did you know about this?" Mo Fenghua, a teacher who loved gossip, couldn't help but rush over to ask when he saw Old Bald Liu.

"Yeah, Old Liu, when I first heard about it, I nearly popped my eyes out. I also heard that the second-year genius Xiao Yushu was knocked down by just two punches from him. Unbelievable!" added Feng Man'er, another teacher standing nearby.

Old Liu chuckled wryly, "I didn't expect this to happen either. I only found out when the second-year teachers came to ask me for an explanation. What a headache!"

"Oh, come on, Old Liu. Stop pretending to be modest. Wu Xiangwu has definitely made you proud. We're all envious."

"Think about it. In the entire history of our academy, this has never happened before, right? A first-year student going up against second-year students—one against over two hundred! And he won so easily. It's unbelievable."

"Old Liu, do you think Wu Xiangwu has already advanced to become an elite warrior?" Feng Man'er asked curiously.

Old Liu pondered for a moment before replying, "I wouldn't rule out the possibility! But even if he's an beginner-level elite warrior, it's still impossible for most to achieve what he did. My guess is that not only has he advanced to the elite level, but he's also a natural-born genius for combat."

The two other teachers were shocked. A ten-year-old elite warrior? That was hard to believe.

"Should we inform Dean about this?"

Old Liu shook his head, "There's no need. Let's just wait and see."

....

Su Hao's reputation spread throughout the academy. No one dared provoke him anymore, which directly benefited him. He could now do what he wanted without worrying about anyone bothering him. The indirect beneficiaries were He Qingqing and Little Fatty.

Thanks to Little Fatty's big mouth, everyone knew that he and He Qingqing were Wu Xiangwu's good friends, childhood companions, and hometown pals. Borrowing Wu Xiangwu's fame, no one dared to trouble the two of them.

Everything was going as smoothly as Su Hao had anticipated. As long as he beat everyone into submission, the trouble would lessen, allowing him to focus on his own affairs.

Su Hao was incredibly curious about everything in this world and was eager to acquire more knowledge. Every time he learned something new, and every time he encountered the creativity and boundless imagination of his predecessors, he felt a deep sense of joy from within his soul. This joy became one of his driving motivations to keep exploring.

After six months of living here, Su Hao had gained a good understanding of the Lingyun Warrior Academy. He even found a hidden treasure trove—the Lingyun Library.

Freed from the heavy training regimen, Su Hao now had half of each day to do as he pleased. In the mornings, he followed the academy's schedule for learning and training, while in the afternoons, he spent his time immersed in the various records and books in the Lingyun Library.

Books such as [An Introduction to Qi and Blood], [ The Bestiary], [Chronicles of Lingyun Town], [Atlas of Mountains and Rivers], [The Martial King's War Chronicles], [The Rise and Fall of the Human Race], [Exploring the Mysteries of Fierce Beasts], [Human Potential], [Bloodlines], [Special Abilities, The Mysteries of Nature], [The Mysterious Northern Ice Fields], and [The Mysterious Rune Masters]... —he read them all.

Upon entering the library, Su Hao's first move was to flip through every book, recording everything into his system. Only then would he casually pick up a book that piqued his interest and start reading.

One day, while Su Hao was quickly flipping through books and recording them, a small incident occurred.

At that time, besides him, there were three little girls also reading in the library.

Seeing Su Hao rapidly flipping through book after book, the three girls stared at him as if he were a lunatic. However, they all recognized him and knew that this "Wu Xiangwu the Violent Sky" wasn't someone to mess with, so they kept their distance.

After a while, one timid-looking girl approached Su Hao, head bowed, and in a voice as soft as a mosquito's, said, "H-hello."

"Huh?" Su Hao didn't catch what she said at first and looked at the delicate, weak-looking girl with a confused expression.

But just one glance was enough to almost make the girl burst into tears.

She twisted her hands nervously, trying hard to overcome her fear of the big bad wolf in front of her. With a trembling voice on the verge of crying, she said, "Umm... umm, could you please... please stop mistreating the books like that?"

Su Hao looked at the girl, then at the book he was rapidly flipping through, and immediately realized that his actions had been misunderstood. But he didn't have the effort to spend on slowly explaining it, and no one would believe him anyway.

So he deliberately put on a stern face, glaring at the girl as he coldly said, "Girl, are you trying to tell me what to do?"

"Waa~"

Unexpectedly, the girl wasn't able to handle the scare and burst into tears on the spot.

Her two companions, seemingly her friends, were startled and immediately dropped their books. They rushed over, grabbed the crying girl, and fled as fast as they could.

After running far enough and making sure that "Wu Xiangwu the Violent Sky" wasn't chasing after them, they finally set the girl down, panting heavily.

"That... that was terrifying!"

"So scary! Wu Xiangwu is as terrifying as the rumors say!"

"I thought I was going to die... thank goodness we ran fast!"

They then turned to scold their friend, the still-sobbing girl. "Little Mei, we told you, you're too timid to provoke someone like him! We almost got ourselves killed."

Little Mei sobbed, "I... I didn't know... I just saw him mishandling the books, and I wanted to remind him."

Her two friends exchanged speechless glances. Their friend Mei was good in every way, except that she was obsessed with books. She treated reading like a sacred act.

Meanwhile, Su Hao, watching the three girls flee, stood frozen in place. He touched his face and muttered to himself, "Am I really that scary?"
