Chapter 677: The Sea Dragon Emperor - Part 2
"Did the dragon not appear after all? Or... was that story just a lie?" Elina rubbed her chin, suspicion in her eyes.
Leon's recent attack had been powerful enough to lure the sea dragon out.
But if it still hadn't shown itself, then perhaps the story was nothing more than a myth.
"Hah... what a disappointment." Elina shook her head with a sigh.
She had really wanted to see the dragon monster. It would've been thrilling. But now, it seemed her wish would go unfulfilled.
Until suddenly—
*Boom!*
The sea erupted, and an enormous monster burst forth from the depths. Its sheer size was unimaginable, and its appearance terrifying.
Its body was long and serpentine, covered in massive black scales that gleamed under the light—just like a dragon.
Two enormous horns jutted from its head, tapering upward, each branching slightly to the sides.
Its eyes were pitch black, but its pupils glowed red—sharp, sinister, and piercing.
It towered over a hundred meters high, and the rows of razor-sharp teeth lining its jaws looked capable of tearing anything apart in a single bite.
The sight of the monster made Elina tremble in fear. Without realizing it, she stepped back, her face pale and her eyes wide.
"That monster really exists!" she screamed inwardly, horrified.
She had never imagined it would look this terrifying—especially its ferocious, vicious face.
Elina had never seen a dragon in her entire life. And now... she was seeing one for the very first time.
Meanwhile, Leon, having witnessed the sea dragon's appearance with his own eyes, couldn't help but laugh.
"Hahaha! It finally showed itself! Coming here wasn't a waste after all," he exclaimed, eyes gleaming with excitement.
*Roar!*
The Sea Dragon Emperor let out a thunderous roar, shaking the air and sending a powerful shockwave that swept away everything in its path.
Fortunately, there was nothing nearby—only the sea, the pier, and Leon.
In the face of that roar, however, Leon didn't flinch. He simply gave a cold smile and casually swung the Holy Sword of Zenith to the side.
In an instant, his body launched into the air, shooting straight toward the dragon without hesitation.
"Let me see how strong you really are!" Leon shouted.
"Hero Technique: Divine Slash!"
He raised his sword high and brought it down in a powerful arc.
*Whoosh!*
A gleaming slash of holy power burst forth, slicing through the air as it sped toward the dragon.
Seeing this, the Sea Dragon Emperor opened its massive jaws. A huge sphere of water—roughly the size of a house—formed in an instant and launched to intercept the slash.
*Bang!*
The two attacks collided, unleashing a deafening explosion that rippled across the battlefield.
But the holy slash remained intact—untouched, as if the water attack hadn't even mattered.
The Sea Dragon Emperor's eyes widened in shock. Horror filled its face as it realized its attack had failed to stop the incoming power.
Before it could dodge, the slash struck its body head-on, tearing through scale and flesh alike.
*Roar!*
A bone-rattling scream of agony erupted from the creature's mouth. The sound echoed all the way to the nearby city.
People going about their day froze in panic.
"What the hell was that?! A monster?"
"It sure sounded like one! But don't monsters live in the deep sea? How did one get this close?"
"I heard the Sea Dragon Emperor's been spotted near the coast lately... Maybe that was it?"
Panicked discussions broke out among the citizens, filled with speculation and fear over the terrifying roar they had just heard.
Struck by Leon's attack, the Sea Dragon Emperor wasted no time—it dove back into the sea and fled, fully aware that it stood no chance against him.
But would Leon simply let it escape? Of course not.
The moment the dragon vanished beneath the waves, Leon shot forward and disappeared into the sea without hesitation.
"Young master!" Elina screamed, panic in her voice—but it was already too late.
Leon was gone, and she was left standing there, completely alone.

Leon dove into the depths of the sea, following the dragon's trail. Although the location was close to the pier, the seabed was surprisingly deep and eerily quiet.
Near the surface and along the edges, fish and sea vegetation still drifted gently with the current.
But after swimming about two hundred meters ahead, the scenery changed drastically. Before him yawned a massive ocean abyss—dark, deep, and seemingly swallowing all light.
There were no sea plants here, nor any small or mid-sized fish. Only large creatures, two to three meters long, drifted slowly through the silence.
Their shapes were unnerving—unlike any fish he had seen in his original world.
Well, considering this was a fantasy world, it wasn't too surprising that the sea creatures looked much stranger than those back home, right?
The dragon slipped deeper into the silent, lightless abyss. Without hesitation, Leon followed.
But with no light to guide him, he soon lost track of the dragon.
"Tsk! That damn dragon's too fast," he muttered.
He wasn't sure whether to keep chasing it or not—he had already swum too far from the coast.
After a brief moment of thought, he let out a sigh and gave up the pursuit.
Without hesitation, Leon turned around and began swimming back toward the pier.
But suddenly, he felt a massive presence rushing toward him from behind.
Acting on instinct, he channeled holy power into the Holy Sword of Zenith and slashed to the side.
The slash wasn't just an attack—it acted like a burst of force, launching his body fifty meters away from where he'd just been.
And sure enough, the dragon reappeared—lunging forward with its jaws wide open, passing through the exact spot where Leon had been just seconds ago.
Had it not been for his sharp instincts, his body would've ended up inside that monstrous mouth.
"So that's your game. You dragged me into the sea to gain the upper hand, huh? Looks like your intelligence has evolved," Leon muttered with a quiet chuckle.
If the fight had taken place on land, the dragon would've stood almost no chance against him.
At least, that's what the dragon must've believed.
But was that really true? Of course not.
Whether on land, in the air, or beneath the sea—nothing could hinder his movements.
The Sea Dragon Emperor twisted its enormous body downward and vanished into the darkness once more.
Leon raised the Holy Sword of Zenith, his gaze sharp as he scanned the murky waters around him.
"Over there!"
A sudden surge of instinct struck from his left. Leon reacted instantly, dodging just as he had before.
But this time, he didn't stop at evading. He quickly summoned his holy power.
His body grew noticeably lighter, and his movements underwater shifted drastically—almost as if he were running freely on land.
As his speed caught up with the dragon's, the Holy Sword of Zenith lit up, radiating a sharp, brilliant holy light.
With a cold, unshakable gaze, Leon muttered in his mind, "Now... die."
