Chapter 726: *This time it’s really over*
Kevin shook his head and told him, "They don't need to have a corrupted soul to be traitors; trust me!"
Then he asked Elias, "What do you want me to check?"
A man, or rather a Divine Drakonit, then stood before him. He had long black hair, striking black eyes, was taller than Axel with the same kind of muscular body, and he seemed very powerful. That Drakonit then said to him, "I don't know what your system is, but look for anything that could be hiding an identity. This item should be a powerful one, as I can't detect it, nor can Elias!"
"Roman, I presume!" said Kevin, extending his hand in a friendly manner. "I'm Kevin; nice to meet you."
Roman returned the greeting with a smile and thanked him for everything he and Axel had already done for their world. However, as the threat wasn't over yet, they all focused back on the task at hand.
Kevin used his system once more, asking it to find any powerful item that could hide an identity and mask the energy signatures of a person.
Even Axel couldn't sense anything off, so the item could only be very powerful; its rank should be a Divine one to block all of their perceptions.
Kevin then let his system scan the crowd, and fortunately, the men and women close to them didn't have such items on them.
Once his system indicated that the scan was done, two Drakonits in the stands couldn't be checked. Kevin looked in their direction but didn't lock his gaze on them, so they wouldn't feel threatened and wouldn't do anything stupid, like taking hostages or ending lives before they could get the information they needed.
He then used the communication stone to tell Elias what he had found. "There are two Drakonits in the stands wearing items strong enough to block my system identification. I checked them, and they seemed agitated, so we better be careful."
Elias then told him, "Give me their position. Caleb and I will go fetch them and send them directly into the prison dimension. Let's see if that bad feeling we can't shake off will finally disappear after that!"
After Kevin provided the necessary indication, Elias and Caleb vanished instantly. Mere seconds later, the two Drakonits, bearing hidden powerful items, followed suit, disappearing without a trace. No one noticed the commotion as they were all waiting for their King's next order.
Before leaving the arena earlier to help them save Johan's life, Roman ordered everyone not to move, as this place was the safest in their world and they would all be protected by their powerful allies if something unexpected were to happen.
As soon as the two Drakonits disappeared, Kevin finally heaved a sigh of relief, as the bad feeling that had been bothering him was gone. He said to Roman, "This time it's really over; everyone will be fine; you have my word!"
Roman then looked at Isaac, and as he nodded, Roman thanked Kevin one more time. He then told his people, who were still waiting for his orders, that they could all go home and that their world would not suffer another attack for the time being.
As Roman's best warriors were now chatting with the Drakonits of their world, and everyone seemed to relax, Axel then put his arm over Kevin's shoulders before kissing his temple.
Upon looking at the men and women lying unconscious on the ground, he sensed Willow waking up in their dimension. So he said to Kevin, "Be right back, babe!"
Kevin simply nodded and gave him a quick kiss before Axel went to their personal dimension. He said to Roman, who was looking at the unconscious people with sadness in his eyes, "Do not worry about them! My daughter will be able to bring them back; she has very powerful psychic abilities, and it is not the first time she has done this."
Roman then replied, feeling really grateful, "The debt I owe you can never be repaid. The man you saved yourself is like a brother to me. We grew up together, served as Lilith's cannon fodder, fought for our freedom and against the Gods with the Warrior Spirits, and when we were finally free, we built this world together to ensure it would be a good place to live in peace."
He continued, "Seeing him in this state… I have no words to express my feelings. Thank you, Kevin, for everything."
Kevin smiled at him and said, "There is no debt between friends, and you are one of my dad's oldest friends, so forget about it."
He added, "Besides, we are all happy to have been able to help you and your people. The Warrior Spirits think highly of you, and the Drakonits in our world were eager to come here to meet all of you."
They continued chatting about their respective worlds when Axel suddenly appeared with the most beautiful little girl that Roman had ever seen.
She looked like a princess in her long, flaming red robe with golden stripes. She was about 6 years old, and her eyes fascinated him. They were red with golden pupils, and it was the first time he had seen eyes of this color. She also had long, curly black hair cascading down to her waist. Her skin was fair, and her lips were red… she was truly beautiful.
Then something unexpected happened…
He breathed in her scent out of curiosity, but his Drakonit side reacted strongly. He didn't even have time to say anything as a golden short sword and a Divine sword began burning the skin of his neck. Damn, he was in deep trouble!
He said in an attempt to appease them, "Calm down, I'm not going to do anything to her."
He then looked at Axel because he had heard the furious growls of his wolf, and so he told him, "You know that I don't have any control over it, don't you?"
