My Name Is Uchiha Kuragami, I Beat The Villagers And Made Them Scream

Chapter 9: Kakashi Hatake

After blocking the attack with his blade, Kuragami Uchiha glanced at the kunai in Torune Aburame's hand and chuckled: "A specially made glass kunai? Too bad, it's useless."

The next second, the shuriken hovering around Kuragami Uchiha shot toward the exposed Torune Aburame.

Torune Aburame hurriedly used an Insect Substitution Jutsu to escape, but as soon as he landed, Kuragami Uchiha's next strike was already upon him. With his body crackling with lightning, Kuragami moved at an unbelievable speed.

Each slash was deadly, leaving Torune overwhelmed. As someone skilled at using insects, close combat was never his forte, forcing him to rely on repeated Insect Substitution Jutsu to escape Kuragami's relentless attacks.

However, each substitution meant sacrificing a batch of his carefully nurtured insects to Kuragami's lightning.

Within minutes, Torune had barely avoided death multiple times. Just as Kuragami was about to finish him off, his vision suddenly went black.

"Using this technique against a Uchiha who has awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan? You're asking for death."

In the mental world, Kuragami's Mangekyō Sharingan flared. Foo Yamanaka, who had been hiding in the shadows attempting a sneak attack with the Mind Body Switch Technique, groaned, coughed up blood, and collapsed.

"Capture him alive."

Kuragami ordered casually while forcing Torune into another Insect Substitution Jutsu with a single strike. He glanced at Inoka Uchiha and Saito Uchiha, who stood nearby and instructed: "You two, take care of it."

"Now that we have a better prisoner let's end this."

Kuragami said with a smirk while stabbing his blade into Torune's back.

Lightning surged violently, and within moments, all that remained was a charred corpse.

On the side, Inoka Uchiha and Saito Uchiha easily captured Foo Yamanaka, who had lost all resistance due to the backlash of his clan's hidden jutsu.

"Saito, take this one back to the clan's interrogation room. Make sure he stays alive." Kuragami commanded after finishing off Torune.

"Inoka, report to the Hokage's office and say that during our investigation, we encountered violent resistance from the remnants of the root, forcing us to take emergency measures. The perpetrators have been eliminated."

"Understood!"

The two nodded and quickly departed in opposite directions to carry out Kuragami's orders.

Meanwhile, Kuragami headed alone toward the underground root base.

Upon entering, the remaining root members launched suicidal attacks in a desperate attempt to stop him. However, Kuragami needed only a single strike each time to deal with them. He cut his way through the base, from its entrance to its core, leaving dozens of corpses behind in just ten minutes.

Inside Danzo's office, the first thing Kuragami saw was a pile of ashes; Danzo's secret records had already been burned to nothing. Seeing this, he smiled lightly, pulled out a sealing scroll, and retrieved a stack of documents.

"Root is surprisingly efficient. I thought I'd have to clean up after them." He muttered, tossing the documents into the air and incinerating them with a great fireball jutsu.

Once about half of the documents had burned, Kuragami leisurely formed hand seals.

Water Style: Raging Waves.

Mist emerged around him, condensed into droplets, and rained down onto the burning papers. Wisps of smoke rose as the flames were extinguished. Kuragami then picked up the partially burned documents one by one.

… … …

After a while, Inoka Uchiha returned with a squad of Anbu sent by the third Hokage.

The squad's leader wore an Anbu mask, but his silver hair immediately gave away his identity, Kakashi Hatake, the famed Copy Ninja of Konoha.

As Kakashi stepped into the root base and saw the corpses littering the ground, he frowned. It wasn't out of sympathy but rather because these root members, being Konoha shinobi, might have had a chance to reform after Danzo's death. Yet, Kuragami had killed them all.

"Kakashi-senpai, so it's you." Kuragami greeted with a smile, unsurprised that the third Hokage hadn't come in person. Under the looming threat of Kotoamatsukami, the so-called Professor likely preferred to avoid facing him directly.

Kakashi, however, remained silent behind his mask.

Unbothered, Kuragami continued: "When I arrived, these root remnants were already destroying the evidence. Luckily, I was just in time to save some of it."

After stepping closer to Kakashi, Kuragami lowered his voice: "I found something interesting in these files. I think you'll want to see it."

He then pulled out a half-burned document and held it up for Kakashi to see.

The names on it made Kakashi's pupils contract, Sakumo Hatake, Kishida Keisuke, Arima Kiye, and a ninja left with only the surname Toyama, but Kakashi immediately completed this name: Toyama Ryota.

These were the people involved in the mission that had changed his father's life.

And next to each name, there was an ominous word written: "Silenced."

"Well then, since you're here, I'll leave the cleanup to you." Kuragami stored away the document, patted Kakashi on the shoulder, and sighed: "Such a pity… They were all Konoha shinobi, yet Danzo brainwashed them like this. I never wanted to kill them."

With that, he turned to leave, signaling Inoka to follow.

"Wait!"

Kakashi suddenly called out as Kuragami reached the office door.

"Something wrong, Kakashi-senpai?"

Kuragami asked, his face still wearing a gentle smile. "I have to go sort through the remaining evidence and interrogate the captured root members."

"… Nothing."

Kakashi hesitated for a moment but ultimately suppressed the urge to ask Kuragami for more details.

"Alright then, I'll be off. Give my regards to Hokage-sama." Kuragami waved as he walked away, then paused as if recalling something. Turning back, he added: "Oh, right, Kakashi-senpai. If you have time, drop by the Uchiha district. Granny Miori hasn't been feeling well lately; she's been asking about you."
