Chapter 299: White world
[Lucian, there are a few things that you should know. Can we talk now?]
"Is it important?" Lucian halted his movement and remained suspended in the air, with only a slight fluttering of his wings.
[Well, yes. It is quite important.]
"Alright, tell me," he replied simply.
[After your evolution, I have transformed too. Compared to the past, my abilities have grown significantly. So now, not only can I observe the rules of the world to watch the past and future, but I can even control the rules of the world to some extent.]
"Okay, so what are you implying?" he asked patiently.
[Now you don't need the wings to fly. I can alter the rules slightly, and you can just fly.]
"..." Lucian remained silent for a few seconds, then questioned, "It is good to know, but was that the important thing you wanted to talk about?"
[Cough... No, no. I just wanted to tell you about my abilities. There are many changes. Anyway, let's talk about that later. Now for the important news.]
Zero paused to create dramatic suspense, then she sent another line of text.
[I am now able to see the future a little more clearly. Even though it is hard to know exactly what kind of calamity is about to befall both the Earths, I have seen a little shocking scene.
After the timer ends, the first change that will occur would be the merging of the two planets. Of course, that will create quite a lot of chaos, but that's not even the proper start—]
Zero was interrupted by Lucian, who suddenly stopped reading and spoke:
"Both Earths will merge? Would the disaster of the Earths merging be very dangerous? Like, would it kill most of the living beings on both planets?" Lucian frowned. If it really happened, then he could only save the people closest to him.
[Although the merging will create some chaos, it won't be to that extent. Don't worry. A few might die, but what will happen after that would be dangerous enough to kill most of the humans, if not all.]
"I was actually quite worried about that initially. If that timer is going to end at the same time on both Earths, then I wasn't sure on which one I should be or how it will affect me. But now there will only be one Earth—wait, but I have two bodies, one on each Earth..." Lucian suddenly thought of another problem.
[That's not a problem, don't worry. We are actually the only things that are exactly common between the two planets. So when the planets merge, we are going to be at the center of the change, and what would happen then even I don't know.]
"I see, let's worry about all that later. For now, I just have to increase my strength as much as possible. In a couple of days, I will have to return to the other Earth. After all, there are way too few chasms here, but there, if I use the same method, my strength will increase exponentially." Lucian mumbled to himself.
After clearing his mind, he asked: "Do you have anything else to share?"
[That's all for now. Maybe if our strength increases, I will be able to see more. Oh right, it seems aside from the ability to copy, I have awakened a new skill… hmm, well, not exactly new, but it is an upgraded version.]
"Oh, and what is that?" Now this news made him a bit curious. The ability to copy other people's abilities was quite good; as long as he gets to copy the abilities of people like Natasha and Jasmine, his strength will increase greatly—though they only last for a certain period of time that is easily a few days now.
[Previously I had space to store different things, right? Now this ability has developed to an enormous level.
I have obtained the white world, where even you can enter and bring anything or anyone inside. Even your strength will increase while inside, like some kind of personal domain.]
"How big is the change?" Lucian asked, feeling surprised. It seemed Zero was finally able to show her real abilities; otherwise, he really believed she was mostly useless.
[Not exactly double, but more than fifty percent. Along with that, the opponent you bring inside will face weakening effects, and you could completely control that space. So it could be considered that your strength will increase by at least 100%.]
Zero was quite excited when telling him all this. She still remembered how much Lucian had cursed her when they first met, and disappointment still lingered in his heart—but not anymore.
"Good, it seems after reaching the 8th phase of evolution, my strength has increased significantly. But I am not sure how strong my opponents are going to be, so it is better to prepare as much as possible." As he spoke, Lucian removed the red wings from his back.
Just as Zero had said, Lucian was easily floating in the air, and he could even fly around without any problem. After flying around for a minute and getting used to it, he finally flew away from there.
[Are you returning home now?]
"No, before the whole thing starts, there are a few people I want to meet."

Inside a worn-out house with only two rooms, a boy was busy working on his laptop. He put all his concentration into his work. Even though the company belonged to his friend, he didn't plan to slack off, even though he wasn't given any tasks.
It was Eric, one of Lucian's best friends. After getting this job, his living conditions had obviously started to get a lot better. The loan had mostly been repaid, and soon he would even be able to move to a better house.
Just while he was staring at a comment on the screen, his vision blurred for a moment—but in the next moment, he found himself in a large white space. As far as he could see, there was only white.
Eric was scared and wondered if this was a dream, but this clearly wasn't, as the pain in his arm indicated.
"W-Where am I?"

Inside a luxurious kitchen that seemed bigger than both of Eric's house bedrooms combined, a boy tiptoed silently towards the refrigerator. He kept glancing back, making sure that the little devil—that is, his younger sister—hadn't arrived yet.
Then he opened the refrigerator's door and instantly found the target of his theft.
It was Perv, or in other words, Parvinder.
He was just about to steal his younger sister's chocolate cake. Just as his hand was about to grab it, his vision blurred and was replaced by an enormous white world. At first, he was startled that the refrigerator had disappeared, but then he noticed that even the kitchen and the house had disappeared.
"Oh no, did someone kidnap my house?" Perv exclaimed and panicked. Then his gaze landed on a familiar face not too far away.
"Eric!!" Perv exclaimed and asked, "Did your house get kidnapped too? Where are we? Sigh, I thought I was the chosen one, so you got lucky too because of me, huh? Heh."
