My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

The sun was shining, and a crisp breeze gently brushed against the curtains, making a soft rustling sound like a girl's gentle whisper. Through the small gap between the drapes, several little red flowers could be seen blooming outside. Though they were common roadside wildflowers, their refreshing fragrance was enough to bring a sense of joy to passersby.

Such a beautiful morning was perfect for… another round of sleep!

Pulling the blanket tighter around himself, Kazuki turned over in his soft bed, settling into a more comfortable position. If possible, he would have loved to stay like this all morning. Unfortunately, someone had different plans.

"Kazuki, get up already!"

A lively female voice, brimming with boundless energy, echoed in the room. Seeing the unmoving "white cocoon" still sprawled on the bed, the woman pouted. Then, her fair, jade-like hand reached under the blanket.

"Ow ow ow! My arm—my arm is gonna break!"

A miserable scream rang out as Kazuki tossed off the covers and sat up, furiously rubbing his now-red and swollen right arm while hissing in pain.

Glaring resentfully at the young woman by his bedside—who shared some resemblance with him and appeared to be in her twenties, youthful and beautiful—he grumbled:

"Mom! Today's a rest day!"

Yes, this energetic and stunning woman, who was often mistaken for his older sister whenever they went out together, was none other than his biological mother—Shiya.

As for how his old man managed to "trick" such a young and naive girl into marriage, Kazuki had always been skeptical. For years, his father brushed off the question with the same response: "Your mother takes good care of herself; she's actually much older than she looks."

To that, Kazuki could only scoff. Judging by his mom's frequent airheaded behavior, her mental age was probably even lower than her physical appearance suggested.

Oblivious to her son's internal roasting, Shiya put on a deliberately serious expression and said:

"Kazuki, you're already ten years old this year, which means you're finally eligible to become a Pokémon Trainer. Today, Professor Oak is handing out starter Pokémon to new Trainers in town! If you don't hurry, you'll be too late!"

Oh, so that was what this was all about...

Hearing his mother's words, Kazuki looked thoroughly unimpressed. In an instant, he felt like this entire morning's suffering had been completely pointless.

"I've already told you a long time ago—I don't want to be a Trainer. And even if I ever change my mind, I can just let the Professor know in advance. He'd hold onto a Pokémon for me."

Unlike most kids his age who had to get their first Pokémon from Professor Oak on a set day, Kazuki was in a unique situation. Due to certain circumstances, he had been helping the Professor study Pokémon behavior and breeding since he was little.

And despite Professor Oak's renowned status as a scholar, he was a kind and easygoing man. Seeing Kazuki's excellent performance over the years, he had even considered grooming him as an assistant. With their close relationship, if Kazuki ever wanted a Pokémon, the Professor would definitely save one for him.

"But… your dad said that if a young man doesn't become a Trainer, he has no future…" Shiya looked troubled.

"My old man runs a convenience store. What does he know?"

Now fully dressed, Kazuki waved dismissively as he walked out of the room.

The moment he stepped out, a small gray-and-black puppy Pokémon excitedly leaped into his arms, nuzzling his chin with its furry little head. This was Hei, a Poochyena—a Pokémon his father had adopted from the Hoenn region years ago and Kazuki's lifelong companion.

Scratching Hei's neck until the little pup purred contentedly, Kazuki carried him to the dining table. On the sturdy wooden table, an array of mouthwatering dishes was laid out, filling the air with an enticing aroma.

After pouring some food into Hei's bowl and watching him happily dig in, Kazuki was about to grab his chopsticks when he noticed something odd—someone was missing from the table.

"Mom, where's Dad?"

From behind him, his mother's voice answered, "He left early this morning with his fishing rod. He still hasn't come back yet."

Figures. Given how spectacularly bad his old man was at fishing, he probably spent the entire morning catching nothing.

With that thought, Kazuki turned his attention back to his meal. Just as he was about to take a bite, a realization hit him.

Wait a minute. If Dad's been out all morning… then these dishes…

His gaze dropped to his plate.

He swallowed hard.

At that very moment, Shiya walked out of her room and approached him.

With a bright, innocent smile, she said, "I made all this! It's a new recipe I just learned. Try it and tell me how it tastes!"

"Ah… ha… ha…"

Kazuki's eyes darted toward Hei, who had already finished half his bowl. Suddenly, the little Poochyena's face twisted in agony. He let out a pitiful whimper before dramatically collapsing onto the floor, twitching in distress.

"Hei?! What's wrong?!"

Shiya panicked, scooping him up in a flurry of worry.

You're seriously asking that?! You think Dad never lets you cook for a reason?!

Kazuki was stunned. His mom's cooking was legendary—as in, the kind of food that could kill a man! Not even a Pecha Berry could save you from it!

He turned back to the once-appetizing meal on his plate.

Before his eyes, the colorful dishes warped into a writhing mass of unidentifiable tentacle-like horrors...

---

Making up an excuse, Kazuki quickly left the house without eating. His mom was too busy trying to save Hei to notice him slipping away. His stomach growled, but it was better to stay hungry than risk his life.

Rest in peace, Hei… your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

With no real destination in mind, Kazuki wandered around town aimlessly until he reached a familiar white research lab. A small crowd of adults had gathered at the entrance, led by a charming woman who still retained a youthful allure.

Noticing someone watching her, she turned around. Seeing Kazuki, she immediately smiled and walked over.

"Kazuki! Good morning."

"Good morning, Aunt Hanako," Kazuki replied politely.

Unlike his own ditzy mother, Hanako was a textbook example of a gentle and caring woman. Seeing her here, Kazuki immediately understood why so many people were gathered.

Her son, Ash, was the same age as him. Unlike Kazuki, though, Ash had always dreamed of becoming a Pokémon Master. Right now, he was probably inside receiving his starter Pokémon.

"I told you to call me 'big sis'…" Hanako pouted slightly, displeased by Kazuki's formal address. Before she could say more, the lab doors swung open, drawing everyone's attention.

Out stepped an elderly yet energetic man, a clueless-looking boy, and a small yellow mouse-like Pokémon.

The boy, of course, was Ash—Kazuki's childhood friend. Though simple-minded and completely lacking in social awareness, Ash often pulled off feats that left people speechless. What annoyed Kazuki the most was how, despite his cluelessness, Ash was inexplicably popular with girls (though he himself was oblivious to it).

Kazuki turned his attention to the yellow Pokémon at Ash's feet—Pikachu.

Wait a minute… wasn't Professor Oak supposed to give out Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle?

Hmm… Considering Ash's tendency to be late, he probably arrived after all the starter Pokémon were already taken. So the professor must have just given him whatever was left.

As Kazuki was piecing together the mystery, Ash lifted Pikachu into his arms to introduce his new partner.

In that instant, Kazuki noticed something—the mouse's cheeks sparked with golden electricity.

Years of experience kicked in. Without hesitation, Kazuki took several steps back.

And sure enough—

A massive electric shock erupted from Pikachu, instantly zapping Hanako and every person in the crowd.

Watching the scorched bodies around him, Kazuki turned back to the little yellow mouse, his expression filled with newfound respect.

This level of electricity…

This Pikachu… is terrifying!
