Chapter 837: 322nd hidden clan meeting (part-1)

5 days later;

Guests from other hidden clans arrived one after another, answering Azzy's invitation for the Hidden Clan meeting.

In the throne hall, the round table and the nine thrones arranged over it were returned once again, just after 18 years.

As Azzy requested that every clan leader come, not just send a clan representative, they were forced to oblige his request/demand, knowing that he has now become a Demigod.

Before, they were only aware that Azzy was stronger than any of them, but becoming a demigod is something else entirely. Even the mysterious Asgardian leader, who had never directly attended a hidden clan meeting for the past three thousand years, was forced to come out of his palace and visit the Garcia palace. And they didn't come this time with only their heirs.

This time, they came with full fanfare.

On the orders of Azzy, banners bearing the symbols of each hidden clan were unfurled at the palace, fluttering in the late summer wind. It was as if to notify the village that there is a hidden clan meeting exists today.

Crimson paper lanterns were hung along the main path, and even the oldest homes saw a fresh coat of paint.

The scent of sandalwood and sacred herbs drifted through the air, giving the vibe of a fresh day.

One by one, the leaders began to arrive.

They came in silence, some on foot, some riding their Arcana spirits, and one, specifically, the Kuru Clan riding an aerial chariot, a flying artifact that looked like a large-sized palanquin.

Each brought with them an entourage that stopped at the gates, leaving only the clan heads to enter the Palace, as requested. It was the same as the last time, except that this time, not even heirs were allowed inside. No confidants or anything. Just Clan leaders themselves and no one else.

And it wasn't just the existing seven clans, but even the exiled two clans were sent the invitation, giving them observer status.

Among the first was Lysandra Ravillon of the Dragon Clan, her auburn hair tied back and face hidden behind a delicate half-mask. Her cold violet eyes met Affea's briefly, who was at the entrance of the gates, welcoming the leaders.

"Welcome, Clan Lord Ravillon."

"It doesn't seem that welcoming, Miss Garcia," Lysandra responded coldly, glancing at the banners that were hung down from the top of the palace. The Dragon Clan's insignia is missing. "Our freedom was already delayed by 18 years. I hope he won't flit off this time without implementing the decisions."

Affea shrugged at her hostile comment. "You should be grateful that my brother, the Death Clan Monarch, is willing to give you freedom before the 100-year imprisonment passes."

"You…"

Lysandra clenched her fists, but she calmed herself down. Forget about the might of the Death Clan, she isn't even a match for Affea.

As she brushed past her shoulder and continued to walk, Affea then made a comment. "If a law was already passed in a hidden clan meeting, yet if it isn't implemented just because of my brother's disappearance, you should know what that means, Clan Lord Ravillon. No one is interested in releasing your clan. The Death Clan is the only one on your side."

Lysandra paused in her foot tracks for a moment, glancing at her from the corner of her eye, before continuing to walk away.

After a while, the Moon Clan's Matriarch, Estella Moon, arrived. A pair of twins, just as doll-like as Estella, tagged along. They were identical in every angle, from height to their figure, except that one had round glasses and the other didn't.

Affea greeted her warmly. "Greetings, lady Moon. Welcome to the Clan Meet."

Estella smiled warmly. "You can drop the formalities, Affea. We have known each other for years."

Affea smiled, turning her attention to the twins. "Hey, Luna, it's been a while." She spoke to the one with glasses. The latter awkwardly gave a nod. "Ah, yes."

"Okay, you girls can go around and tour the village." Estella turned sharply, turning to the girls. "Behave, alright?"

The twins nodded together.

Once Estella was gone from sight, Luna turned her head to Selene and said, "Okay, send me the message when Mom is out."

After saying those words, Luna turned around to walk away.

"Wait, where are you going?" Affea suddenly asked.

Luna adjusted her glasses and replied. "Nowhere, just roaming around."

She didn't wait for Affea's reaction and walked away before dispersing into mist.

"Wha.."

"Forget her, Affea. She loves to be alone." Selene waved her hand off before she leaned toward her to speak in a low voice. "So, I heard Edward sent you a love letter?"

Affea blink. "Why do you know that? Do men in your clan share things like these, too?"

Selene giggled. "You can say I helped him out." Taking a pause, she asked. "So, what do you think? Do you have any thoughts?"

Affea's expression turned blank. "Don't you know that I'm a celibate?"

"Then, what will you do if Lord Garcia fixes your marriage with someone, then? Selene asked her. "After all, during the last meeting, I heard a number of proposals came for Lord Garcia, but those plans will go to waste as he is married. So, who will they aim for today?"

"No, my brother isn't the type to use his family in such a way. He would rather marry multiple wives rather than impose marriage upon me without getting my agreement to it."

"Eh? Lord Garica will be okay to marry again?" Selene blinked, muttering under her breath.

"Hmm?" Affea looked at Selene, who had her gaze on the palace. "What?"

Selene came out of her thoughts and shook her head. "Nothing, I was just surprised. That's it."

Over the next half an hour, one by one, the others arrived: Ayush of the Kuru Clan, Qin Wuye of the Sun Clan, Fujiwara Shuichi of the Minamoto Clan, Fjor of Asgard, and Neymeryn Searvale of the Elf kingdom.

And then came the final one. A known figure in the Death Clan for millennia.

A hush fell over the courtyard as the crimson litter stopped.

From it stepped a tall man draped in an elegant black cloak with red silk lining. His presence was regal, his eyes sharp like daggers honed on old grudges.

Affea's gaze met his for a long second, neither hostile nor warm. Just acknowledgment.

"Welcome, Lord Blood," Affea nonchalantly greeted the Patriarch of the Blood Clan.

Francis chuckled in amusement. "Didn't think I would walk through these gates again, this soon."
