My Teacher Is Too Good For Others. So, I Decided To Marry Her.

Chapter 19: Is it hard to be normal?

In the afternoon of the same day, Jon was standing before Elena while Olen stood outside the room for Jon to finish his business.

"Why are you here, Jon?" –Elena asked. Of course, she knew why. But she still asked. In business, it isn't wise to give away one's fault.

"You did something to the young master." –Jon took a deep breath.

"I don't know what you did or why you did it. I just want to ask, are you an enemy or not." -Jon needed to ask.

He isn't the scheming type. He had always relied on his instincts.

So, he came today, once more, to confirm.

He needed to see her utter those words with her own mouth.

He was prepared to fight to death here if his instincts gave even the slightest hint of a lie.

"I know you are Powerful. Powerful enough that it wouldn't matter if you want to attack us head-on. But I still need to clarify it. I need to hear it coming out of your mouth."

Elena heaved a sigh of relief.

She was thinking that Jon would ask for an explanation. That would have been a bit of a problem.

What if he wanted compensation for 'modifying' their young master or something?

She was really very smart. Now, she can move past the complicated part.

"If I am your enemy? The answer is negative."

"And don't worry. I didn't do anything weird. I just helped him unlock his potential a bit. No need to be concerned." –she informed.

"Thank you. That's all I needed to ask." –Jon forced himself to look her in the eye to see if she was lying.

His keen senses told him that it wasn't a lie.

However, he didn't know if stronger cultivators could hide their emotions to that level. He had to believe in his ability. And that is what he is doing now.

If someone was lying, he could understand from looking people in the eyes.

Both of them didn't say a word for a while.

Then, he did something that Elena didn't expect him to do.

"Would you please hear my request?" –Jon bowed and said while looking at the ground.

"I won't promise anything... but you can talk." – After a pause, Elena said.

"You don't seem to dislike young master Olen, right?" –Jon said.

"So…" –Elena asked.

"I think you care about him quite a bit. So, I would like you to help him. Please, help him become as strong as you." –Jon asked.

After today's practice session, Jon was sure that Olen had an unnatural growth. To see the reason, he asked Olen and the maids. Then he came to the conclusion that it was Elena's doing. So he came to confirm and see if he could convince Elena to train him more.

"…"

Elena didn't say anything for a while.

"If Bianca has something to say, ask her to say that for herself. Why is she sending someone like you for something so important to her son? You understand this is his life we are talking about, right?" -Elena said seriously.

She thought of the possibilities for Jon to say these things to her.

"No, it's not Madam's request. It is a request from me personally." -Jon.

"You are not his guardian." -Elena said. She was just curious.

It shouldn't be Jon who should ask her this. Jon is Olen's personal trainer. You shouldn't just hand over your student to someone else.

There should be some other reason for it.

Jon was hesitating. He knew it wasn't his choice to make.

"I didn't say anything to Madam... yet... and came directly to you. I know madam wouldn't disagree with me on this. But knowing you, I wanted to talk to you first." -Jon said.

"You... care a bit too much for being a mere servant, you know?" -Elena.

"…" -Jon didn't reply.

Seeing this, Elena frowned. There's definitely a story there. And for her, when she knows there's something there, she just has to know the details. It is one of her bad habits.

"If you don't tell me the reason, you can forget anything from me." -Elena

Normally, she would use other subtle methods, but since there is no problem in this case, she went in a bit more forceful manner.

She got this habit from dealing with a lot of merchants.

"This isn't something I should talk about." -Jon.

"Then the talk is over." -Elena.

Even if no one said anything to her, she still planned to help Olen. But she didn't say anything about this.

But Jon, who has seen what Elena could do through the practice session just had to make sure that she personally took care of Olen. That's the reason he came today to beg.

"Olen… I have known him since he was born. This matter is related to the Baron family secret. So, I need you to promise to keep it a secret. It is something even Olen doesn't know about. Can you promise that?" -Jon asked.

"Okay." -Elena nodded.

"The thing is…"

Jon started to explain things to Elena.

To her surprise, it was actually quite shocking.

Olen was an adopted son of Baron Alden. He was originally the son of Baron Alden's sister.

Her name was Gia.

Once, Baron went to visit her dear sister at her home outside of Baron's territory.

Due to political issues, there was an assassination attempt while he was visiting his sister's place. The attempt failed. But both his sister and her husband died in this terrible incident. Leaving their only son alone when he was a baby.

Baron didn't want to leave this child to his father's family. So, he took him and declared that every one of her sister's family died in the tragedy.

Jon and Jully were kids who were brought out of the streets by Gia.

They were extremely loyal. They followed Baron to the territory with him.

Next, the kid was entrusted to the third wife of Baron because she couldn't bear a child for him.

Baron relied heavily on her to maintain the house.

However, not being able to bear a baby was making it hard to maintain her authority in the house.

So, it was very convenient.

But Bianca never treated Olen as just something convenient. She loved him just as much as any mother would to her own son or maybe even more as she couldn't conceive.

But even so, Baron Alden just couldn't bear to look at Olen.

It isn't that he hated him. But each time he looked at him, he could only blame himself for his sister's death. So, he has always tried to make a distance between themselves.

The only person that knows about this is the people closest to Baron. As it would be viewed as a weakness for him.

"As the person who has known the kid for the longest, please let me beg you for his late parents, please."

"He doesn't know this now. But he will know eventually. And at that time, he will need all the help he can get. I'm willing to pay the price." -Jon finished.

The fear that could always be found whenever he stood in front of Elena, wasn't there anymore. He said everything he had in his heart.

'Ah, I shouldn't have heard that.' -Elena thought.

What can she do now? She wasn't prepared for this type of sad tale.

Honestly, it would have been best if she hadn't heard all this.

She was going to train him anyway. She wouldn't have to be bound like she was now.

Now, there is nobody else to blame but her.

"Huh, alright, alright. I hear you. Now leave. I can't take any more of your sad stories. I'll call you when I need anything." -Elena.

"Okay." -Jon bowed again and left.

Seeing Jon go out, she leaned her body to the backrest of the couch. She looked at the ceiling.

She thought she could take it easy if she had some dirt on the Alden family. But now, she had ended up with more responsibility.

"Miss Elenora, may I come in?"

The culprit of all problems came in. Seeing Olen, Elena had complicated feelings.

Why can't he be a normal kid? All she wanted for him was to be a normal, plain kid.

Is it that hard to be? Why does he have to be such a backstory?

'This is all this kid's conspiracy. And he needs to be punished.' -She thought.

"Oh, yes, you may," -Elena.

"Now stand on one leg and answer me honestly."

"Eh, Ehhh.." -Olen didn't know what he did wrong this time. But he still stood on one leg.

"Miss, I didn't do anything wrong, did I?" -Olen.

"What? Do you think you didn't do anything wrong? Yesterday, you fell asleep on your own. And in the morning, you left early without even saying so much as a single word of appreciation to me. Do you know how much hassle it was for me? Now say, shouldn't you be punished?" -Elena.

Though it was all her mistake, she conveniently made it seem like it was Olen's fault.

"… Sorry."

Olen didn't know what to say. He had little memory of last night, so the only thing he could do is to take the blame.

"It's good that you are sorry."

Elena was proud of herself. It is too easy to trick boys. Just put some random blame on them, and they wouldn't have a chance to make any complaints.

"So, what do you remember of last night?" She asked.
