Chapter 11: -Absolute, Defiant-
Silence…
Not only Flynn, everyone looked quite startled by the unfolding scene.
Attracted to the Wind blade in form of a sword pointed at him.
Apart from Amelia whose face was half hidden by the piece of cloth she covered her face with… The pompous looking girl and the meek white haired boy appeared shaken, apparently just having taken note of him, the unknown stranger that had been running alongside them the whole time.
"Who are you?" The guy spoke again, this time placing the windy sword that seemed like it would tear any thin fabric apart in an instant. Same thing as cutting through human skin.
Though he wouldn't be able to deliver a deadly blow, a serious bloody injury was uncalled for.
In response, Flynn quickly thought about it and raised both hands with a sigh of resignation, appearing to have forfeited his fate while speaking in a cool manner with no sign of fear in his voice.
"I'm Flynn, I activated a trap and got teleported away from my group, appeared within that narrow space back there but got pushed out by that girl." Nodding towards Amelia whose eyes already turned stern and animus upon hearing him, he glanced up at the guy whose hostile look somehow lessened.
Ofcourse, Flynn's lie made too much sense. There was a bizarre power playing them here, and with the world having turned fantasy, it was not too surprising for teleportation to happen. Sure there were people with such powers. But that wouldn't have been enough if they never heard his "Oh shit" earlier.
From their POV, Flynn's lie was 100% proofed as there were no other logical reasons as to why he appeared out of the blue if not that they had been running with a ghost all along and it somehow lost it's invisibility.
"You know him?" Though his hostile look had lessened, he casted a questioning glance towards Amelia, who ignorantly nodded her head in return.
"Hmm, you should all rest up first, in 30 minutes let's figure out our way through here." It wasn't as if they could count time in this godforsaken place to start with, a fact Flynn was yet to realize, but the older guy, Alex, only spoke to ascertain his position as the Leader.
Meanwhile in response no one said a word, giving a short nod as they appeared fatigued. Well… except for Flynn of course, the run just now barely did a dent on his stamina. While so, there were many things he wasn't opportune to check earlier.
The Will he inherited and also his Mark of Sin.
'Right I am yet to access Tia' he thought, closing his eyes to consciously enter his mind with excitement, as series of words flooded in.
Flynn Corbyn
Age: 18
Mark: Pride
Will: Absolute, Defiant
'Ehn?' taken by a huge amount of shock that was expressed solely in his heart, it took him a while to accept the reality that he had too Wills.
'Absolute, Defiant?'
Without further ado, he chose to exclude the fact that he had opened a big secret that could drive the whole of Humanity's attention to him, choosing to learn the purpose of his Will instead.
Instantly a series of information was transported to his brain, telling him about the powers he had been granted.
[Absolute: A sense of existing independently ]
While it was only a few words, Flynn understood the aspect of this Will. Existing separately meant he had a concealment ability which involved manipulating the space around him to diminish his sense of existence to others.
Not only did it sound cool but also very versatile, being able to hide his presence out in the wilds, away from the nose of dreadful creatures. Staying hidden would increase his chance of survival, unlike other Bearers to an extremely high level.
There was also the ability to assassinate, and could be used on both creatures and humans alike when it comes to it.
Meanwhile, this was just the unlocked part of it while at the Baron Level.
'Just…' he couldn't start to imagine.
Calming his heart a bit, the information of his second Will was also sent over.
[Defiant: I chose to be different in everything I did
'Ehn?' Lost on how to react, he carefully read those words again, especially the last one that seemed to have highlighted but had no purpose. Not only that, the Defiant Will gave a whole new sense of mystery.
It didn't grant him any ability, but instead anything he did that opposed the norm would have an increased out put. It didn't matter what he did. And it was more of a triggered passive which would only activate by itself.
Instantly Flynn had a thought…
'So if I'm supposed to land a punch on a person's face during a fight, but went against that and kick his groin it would trigger an increase damage?'
'Then isn't the aim of this Will to turn me crazy? As in, only a crazy mad man would act like that… But then that is the way of those that defy a Deviant Will. Mankind its self got so advanced because of that. Looking at the person who created the plane, their Will was to defy gravity.'
'Damn… Did I just hit a jackpot…?'

[Third level of Defiant comprehension attained]
"Alright, times up"
Unbeknownst to Flynn his thoughts had been cut shut before this information was transferred.
Glancing at Alex, the oldest of them, everyone stood up with renewed pace, carried by the thought of dread of what they would face next opening the next door.
"From what we know, this should be an Egyptian Ruin, probably some ancient tombs that people from the Modern Earth failed to loot. And we are not the only ones here, we saw some Hollows who were once Count Bearers, meaning the ruin has been discovered and is currently being looted. We should be in its deserted part considering we met none living human from outside. Our strength goes without saying, finding a group of humans from the outside should be our main priority. And to do that we have to try and get to the depth of the ruin alive, without doubt there should be a group of powerful Bearers there to claim treasures. With my identity it should be no problem." Having spoken like an outstanding leader, there was a brief glance cast at Flynn and Amelia.
'He's probably going to leave us behind if we do not die to their scheme before that.'
Flynn heard a voice in his heard as his eyes turned cold.
