Chapter 115: Chapter 115

Falling for the same trick twice.

Do I, Tony Stark, have no dignity?

As Tony silently vowed to find a way to get back at those two clowns one day, J.A.R.V.I.S. interrupted his thoughts with a sobering report.

"Apologies, sir, but I've reviewed the footage from before your blackout and found no trace of any attack…"

Tony froze, frowning.

"Not a single trace? Not even with the Mark II's advanced detection systems?"

J.A.R.V.I.S., the most advanced AI Tony had ever created, coupled with the cutting-edge sensors in the Mark II, couldn't detect how the clown had incapacitated him. The realization weighed heavily on Tony.

"Correct, sir. However, based on the data, both you and the massive steel mech experienced the blackout immediately after locking eyes with the clown-masked individual. My analysis indicates a 37.65% probability that the psychic attack is linked to eye contact."

Tony pondered for a moment before responding.

"Eye contact… so their gaze acts as the medium for the attack?"

"J.A.R.V.I.S., note this down."

"Understood, sir."

As J.A.R.V.I.S. logged the data, Tony turned his gaze toward Iron Monger's remains. The mech lay dismantled, its head severed and energy core extracted.

"Obadiah…"

Sighing, Tony stepped forward to take one last look at his former mentor. But as soon as he moved, an array of weapons turned to face him.

High-caliber rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and even a mounted heavy machine gun—all aimed directly at him.

"Don't move!"

"Raise your hands and stand down!"

Simultaneously, J.A.R.V.I.S.'s voice echoed in his helmet.

"Sir, you are currently being targeted by 16 rifles, 5 sniper rifles, 3 rocket launchers, and a heavy machine gun. I advise immediate retreat or identification to the agents of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. Alternatively, surrendering is an option."

Tony's jaw dropped.

"What? Strategic Homeland… whatever. Are you saying Pepper's little rescue squad has me at gunpoint now?"

"Correct, sir."

"Fantastic. My luck today is just spectacular."

Frustrated, Tony heaved a sigh. Ignoring the surrounding firepower, he powered up the Mark II and took off into the sky.

From above, Tony confirmed what he had already suspected: Iron Monger was empty. Obadiah was nowhere to be found.

If Obadiah wasn't inside, there was no point sticking around. He'd had enough of being betrayed or shot at by supposed allies for one day.

As he flew off, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents below readied their weapons, fingers poised on triggers, prepared to shoot him down.

But before they could act, the lead agent, Brock Rumlow—code name Crossbones—gave the order:

"Hold fire. He's not our target for this operation."

Rumlow had already identified the red-and-gold suit as belonging to Tony Stark, the infamous billionaire. He'd even known in advance, through Hydra's special channels, that this operation stemmed from Stark's actions.

While Rumlow had no qualms about intimidating Tony earlier, his true goal had been to seize the Mark II under the guise of investigation. Such a powerful piece of technology—capable of single-handedly turning the tide of a war—was irresistible.

But Tony's swift departure had thwarted Rumlow's plan.

Still, Rumlow wasn't entirely disappointed. His attention shifted to the massive remains of Iron Monger.

Looking at the mech, Rumlow's eyes gleamed.

The machine might be bulky, but its combat capabilities were remarkable. If Hydra could deploy something like this, it could change the balance of power…

"Pack it up," Rumlow ordered.

"Get this thing out of here before the other agencies arrive. Once they're here, it'll be much harder to keep this prize."

While Rumlow worked to secure Iron Monger's remains, elsewhere, Eren drove a stolen van toward Hell's Kitchen.

Moments earlier, during Tony and Iron Monger's clash, Eren had seized the opportunity. He had unleashed his [Dread Gaze] at full power, incapacitating both Tony and Obadiah simultaneously.

His original plan was simple: decapitate Iron Monger, extract its energy core, and uncover the secrets of Obadiah's transformation into such a monstrosity.

However, things didn't go as expected.

The cursed threads he had sent toward the unconscious Iron Monger began to resonate strangely. A powerful hunger emanated from them, as though they yearned to consume the mech's energy core.
