The Burning Library of Nalanda
After a flash of bright light and a strange swirling sensation, Arhan, Vaidika, and Rivaan found themselves standing in a vast, ancient complex. Tall buildings surrounded them, with red stone pathways and thousands of students dressed in white and saffron robes milling about.
"We're actually in Nalanda University!" Rivaan exclaimed in amazement.
But what caught their attention was the black smoke billowing in the distance.
A Scene of Fire and Destruction
Arhan looked in the direction—smoke was rising from a massive building.
"Is this the day Nalanda's library was burned down?" Vaidika asked anxiously.
Rivaan quickly turned on his portable scanner. "Yes, it's 1193 AD! The army of Bakhtiyar Khilji has attacked!"
Arhan's heart raced. "Then we have to hurry! The first key must be somewhere in this library!"
The Challenge to Enter
The three of them quickly ran through the crowd towards the library. As soon as they entered the building, ancient books and scriptures written on thousands of palm leaves were scattered all around. In some places, fires had started to break out.
Rivaan scanned the library with his scanner.
"According to the signals from the Time Mirror, the first key is hidden in a secret chamber!"
"But where is the secret chamber?" Arhan asked quickly.
Rivaan carefully examined the old markings on the floor and pressed a circular symbol among them.
Suddenly, the floor began to shake and a secret door opened in front of them!
"This is the way!"
The First Key in the Secret Chamber
They quickly rushed inside. The cave-like chamber had inscriptions in Sanskrit and ancient Brahmi script on all the walls.
In the center, a metal key with strange carvings was placed on a stone platform.
"This is the first key!" Arhan picked up the key.
Just then, the entire chamber began to shake!
"We've activated a trap!" Vaidika said in panic.
The Race to Escape
The three of them quickly ran out of the secret chamber. But as soon as they came out, they saw that the invading soldiers had entered and were setting fire to the scriptures.
Rivaan quickly pressed a button on his smartwatch and said, "Activate the Time Mirror!"
The surface of the Time Mirror began to glow again, and they peered into it—
Time-Hop and New Location
In a few seconds, the three of them were once again pulled into the flow of time.
The next thing they saw was a vast Mughal palace... and a mysterious woman, who was watching them.
The Hidden Shadows of the Mughal Palace
Drawn by the bright light and the flow of time, Arhan, Vaidika, and Rivaan find themselves inside a huge palace. Around them were carved marble, gold-studded pillars, and beautiful Mughal paintings carved on the walls.
"Where have we come now?" Vaidika asked, looking around.
Rivaan started scanning on his smartwatch. "We are in the 16th century... it looks like Akbar's palace!"
But before they could understand anything else, a slow voice startled them—
"What are you doing here?"
They turned around and saw a young woman standing in royal attire. There was a strange attraction in her eyes, as if she recognized them.
The Mysterious Queen's Warning
Arhan immediately took charge and said, "We are travelers, who have lost our way."
The woman stared at them for a while, then said softly, "Listen to me carefully, you have to get out of here quickly. This palace is hiding a deep secret, and if anyone sees you, you will never be able to go back."
Rivaan whispered in his ears, "Who could she be?"
Vaidika looked at the woman carefully. "Maybe she is the same queen, who disappeared mysteriously. There is very little information about her in history!"
The Second Key of the Time Mirror
Arhan suddenly felt the faint glow of the Time Mirror. He saw that the woman had a strange metal bracelet on her wrist, on which was the same carving as they had seen on the Nalanda key.
"That bracelet...!" Arhan said softly.
The woman sensed his gaze and said softly, "If you want this, you will have to help me."
"What kind of help?" Rivaan asked.
The woman looked around and whispered, "Help me escape from here. I am imprisoned in this palace, and my story will never be written in history."
The Plan to Escape the Palace
Arhan, Vaidika, and Rivaan quickly made a plan.
To trick the soldiers guarding outside the palace, Rivaan took out a small device from his bag and placed it on the ground.
A hazy light came out of the device, and in a few seconds, a fake shadow was formed in the corner of the palace, as if someone was standing there.
"Now! Run!"
They quickly ran towards the back of the palace, from where a secret tunnel led out.
Finding the Second Key
As soon as they got out of the palace, the woman gave her bracelet to Arhan.
"This is the second key. But remember, my name may be lost in the pages of history, but don't forget me."
As soon as Arhan caught the bracelet, the Time Mirror started glowing lightly again.
Rivaan looked at his watch, "We have to go back, the Timekeepers can track us!"
Arhan peered into the Time Mirror, and the three of them were once again pulled into the flow of time...
Next Stop: Future 2100 AD?
This time, they were seeing a modern, but completely ruined city—and a voice was echoing,
"If you have to stop 3025, then first understand 2100!"
When Arhan Saw His Future
Swept away by the bright light and the flow of time, Arhan, Vaidika, and Rivaan had entered a new era. As soon as they stabilized, their breath got stuck seeing the sight around them.
"This... is this Mumbai?" Vaidika said in shock.
But this was not the same Mumbai they knew. This city was devastated—skyscrapers were broken, no living human was visible on the roads, and there was only debris and burning buildings everywhere.
Rivaan extracted data from his scanner.
"We are in the year 2100..."
Arhan took a deep breath and said, "But why does this city look like this? Was there any catastrophe here?"
Just then, they saw a huge digital screen shining in the air. It was written on it:
"WELCOME TO THE TIMEKEEPERS' WORLD"
"WE CONTROL HISTORY. WE CONTROL THE FUTURE."
The Timekeepers' Lair
Lines of worry appeared on Rivaan's face. "This means that in 3025, the Timekeepers will have completely captured the world."
Arhan looked around. "We have to find out how this devastation happened."
Just then, a strange sound came—as if some machine was moving towards them.
They quickly hid behind a broken building.
Meeting the Future Arhan
As soon as they reached inside the building, they heard someone walking inside. They moved forward cautiously, and what they saw was enough to blow their senses.
A man was standing—looking exactly like Arhan, just older and tired.
Arhan had seen himself as if in the future.
"You... who are you?" Arhan asked falteringly.
The man looked at him with deep eyes and said slowly,
"I... am the Arhan who could not save this world."
Future Warning
Rivaan said in shock, "What kind of joke is this? How can you be?"
The future Arhan said in a serious voice, "If you don't stop the Timekeepers in 3025, this is what will happen. They have changed the rules of time, and turned the world into an autocratic regime. Here, not humans, only machines are left."
Vaidika asked in a trembling voice, "So what do we have to do?"
The future Arhan took out a small device from his pocket and gave it to them.
"This is the third key of the Timekeepers. Take it to your time and activate it. It will take you to their secret hideout."
Danger Bell
Just then, there was a loud explosion outside.
The future Arhan quickly pushed them, "Now go! Before they catch you!"
Arhan, Vaidika and Rivaan activated the Time Mirror and as soon as they peered into it, they were swept into the stream of time.
While going, Arhan saw that his future form was being surrounded by the Timekeepers' machines... and then it was dark.
