Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Bright Day
In the morning, Oboro got up alone to wash up.
It felt a bit uncomfortable to have spent the night holding Tenten, and he had woken up with a sore back; meanwhile, Tenten slept soundly, still lost in her dreams.
Ding ding ding~
The alarm clock began to ring, waking Tenten from her slumber.
She groggily opened her eyes and then suddenly sat up in bed.
"What time is it?"
"7:30," Oboro's voice came from the bathroom.
"Oh no! I'm going to be late!" Tenten hurriedly got up, but when she went to put on her shoes, she found them wet, so she slipped on Oboro's sandals instead.
"Why did you set the alarm for so late?!" she complained.
"It's early enough; I don't even have school," Oboro replied as he walked out of the bathroom, toothpaste foam still on his lips.
"And besides, isn't today the weekend?"
Originally panicked, Tenten suddenly froze at his words and then collapsed back onto the bed.
"Ah! That darn alarm clock, why did it wake me up?" she rolled around on the bed.
"Get up quickly, I need to head out." Oboro tossed a bag onto Tenten, which contained her soaked clothes.
"I don't want to get up," Tenten whimpered, trying to stay in bed.
Slap!
A crisp slap landed on Tenten's backside, making her jump out of bed with a blush, covering her rear.
"Get moving," Oboro said calmly, his toothbrush still in his mouth.
Tenten stopped protesting, picked up the bag and her shoes, and walked out the door.
Before leaving, she mumbled quietly, "Oboro is a bad guy!"
The rain outside had stopped, and the cats and dogs were no longer curled up beneath the eaves. Tenten, still wearing Oboro's oversized clothing, looked a bit comical as she crossed the chilly street, splashing through the puddles.
Oboro stood in the room quietly watching her leave before turning back to the bathroom to continue his morning routine.

[Non-romanceable]**
In the morning, he had a guard mission accompanying Danzo outside the village to meet an envoy from another country.
As expected, Danzo hadn't noticed anything concerning the curse, seemingly having eased his initial wariness of Oboro.
In his eyes, the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal allowed Oboro to keep all his secrets safe.
After lunch, there was nothing else to do, and Oboro was no longer assigned any routine tasks, so he returned home early to rest.
He went to find Shisui, wanting to discuss what had happened with Danzo, but found that Shisui was out on a mission and they couldn't meet.
The time was still only midday; the sky was clear and blue with a few wispy white clouds.
Oboro didn't know what to do with his free time.
He started to stroll around the village but avoided the streets, instead leaping lightly across the rooftops, quietly watching the lively scenes below.
The water on the ground had already dried up, though a few shady spots remained damp.
Children were chasing each other in the streets, their laughter echoing through the alleys.
A little girl accidentally let go of the balloon in her hands while running and began to crouch down on the ground, crying.
Oboro stood atop a utility pole, watching the balloon float past his line of sight and drift further away.
So boring...
He arrived in front of a flower shop, paused for a moment, and then walked inside.
"Welcome!"
The shopkeeper was a little girl, looking around the same age as Tenten, with short golden hair adorned with a light blue hairpin matching her eye color. She was quite charming and cute.
"May I ask... what flowers do you need to buy?" The little girl blinked at Oboro, surprised, before smiling.
"White chrysanthemums, two bouquets."
The girl paused, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "Excuse me... may I know what the flowers are for?"
"For offering," Oboro replied.
The girl immediately stopped asking further questions, turning to pick several flowers from among the blooms and skillfully wrapping them into two bouquets.
Oboro placed a wad of coins on the counter, took the bouquets from the girl, and turned to leave.
The girl looked at the coins on the counter, then hurriedly picked them up and dashed out of the store.
"Sir, you gave too much!" she called out.
But there was no sign of him on the street. After searching for a while, the girl finally turned back into the shop, resigned.
Carrying the bouquets, Oboro leaped across the rooftops and suddenly noticed a change in the system; a new character panel had appeared.

Not paying much attention to it, Oboro continued on to the eastern edge of the village and entered the Forest of Quiet Movement.
Though it was a forest, the path here had been carefully cleaned, the dirt road flat and tidy with only a few fallen leaves.
Rows of artificially planted trees stood neatly on either side, their large canopies only leaving a small gap for the sky.
At the end of the path stood a huge diamond-shaped stone monument.
And a cluster of graves.
This was the resting place of Konoha's heroes.
Oboro walked slowly among the graves, eventually stopping in front of one stone, laying the bouquets at its base and placing the other bouquet at the adjacent grave.
Shinkouji Sen, Sakuramiya Haruka.
He bowed his head, staring at the two names for quite some time without saying a word.
Birds flew overhead, flapping their wings and calling out a few times before gradually drifting away.
As he lowered his gaze, the surroundings grew somewhat darker, and another figure appeared in this peaceful graveyard.
Dressed in dark casual wear, with white hair and a black mask, he stood alone in front of one of the stones.
There were only the two of them in the graveyard, but while Oboro was calm and silent, this person radiated a low and subdued emotion.
As Oboro walked past him, he heard the figure speak.
"Here to visit an old friend?"
"Aren't you here for the same reason?" Oboro paused in reply.
"Just as I thought, it's you." Kakashi sighed.
He then returned to a calm demeanor, his eyes becoming void of emotion.
"Oboro, I remember you."
"After the war ended, I wondered why I only heard stories of Shisui's swift movements but suddenly lost all news of you. I didn't expect you to have gone into Root," Oboro said.
"Didn't you enter it too?" Oboro replied coolly.
Kakashi turned to face him, his gaze heavy as he said, "You, who has fallen into darkness, dares to speak of the 'darkness as a quagmire'?"
"Those words were said by Lord Hokage," Oboro countered.
"It wasn't me who fell into darkness."
Kakashi gazed at Oboro's calm face and continued, "Well, you came to pay your respects to your past comrades, so you must still hold a bit of conscience within yourself."
"How does it feel to abandon your teammates? Does it make you feel regretful and remorseful?"
"Shouldn't you understand that better than me?" Oboro retorted leisurely, casting a sidelong glance at him.
"I heard that you even killed your comrades for a mission; in that regard, I still fall short," Oboro added.
He heard the sound of knuckles cracking as the person before him seemed to be suppressing something terrifying.
Oboro's gaze shifted but remained calm. "Even if you don't care about those rumors, it must still be agonizing."
"..."
Kakashi's pupils constricted, and his breath relaxed instantly.
"What need do the wounded have to devour each other?"
Oboro said softly, taking a slow step away from the scene.
