Seeing that Naruto couldn't move a muscle anymore, Guy gave him a thumbs-up.

"That's the spirit of youth, Naruto! If you ever want to burn with youth again, you can come here—we always train at this spot."

I dare not to… Naruto thought, mentally trembling.

He didn't even have the courage to get close to those perverts again when they were in training mode.

"Come on, Lee! Let's do a hundred laps around the village—I still have youth to burn!"

"By the way, what is beyond Hokage, anyway?"

Naruto was still lying flat on the ground, completely motionless. Despite the aches all over his body, he felt strangely relaxed.

The first thing he picked up… was that damn dog's chakra.

"Wait… why am I so scared of a dog? I'm a ninja!" Naruto scolded himself, suddenly feeling embarrassed by how non-shinobi-like he had just acted.

"Hmph. How dare a mere dog strike fear into my heart? I'll take revenge today! Otherwise, what kind of ninja am I?"

With burning resolve, Naruto began preparing for an ambush.

Even though he was exhausted, this was a matter of pride now.

He kept track of the dog's position with Kagura's Mind Eye as he crawled closer.

The dog, on the other hand, was currently lying peacefully under the shade of a tree, eyes half closed.

Naruto's gaze hardened.

"Perfect. You won't see this coming…"

He decided to use his second most powerful technique. Taught by his teacher Kakashi.

Not wanting to mess it up, He created a Shadow Clone. The clone nodded solemnly like a soldier going to war.

"Go. Make him feel the same fear I did."

To get the beast's attention, he picked up a small rock and threw it near the dog's resting spot.

Rustle—

Princess ears perked up instantly. He stood up, alert, and started sniffing the air.

'Who's there?' the dog seemed to wonder, cautiously heading toward the source of the sound.

"Perfect. Now!"

Seeing the perfect chance to strike Naruto shadow clone moved in fast pace and quickly moved to rear of the clueless dog.

From behind, the Shadow Clone leapt into action—forming the Tiger Seal mid-air.

"Leaf Village Secret Finger Jutsu…

…Thousand Years of Death!"

"AWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The dog shot ten feet into the air.

A loud, heart-wrenching whimper echoed through the forest as the traumatized dog twisted mid-air before landing with a dramatic thud.

From the bushes, Naruto gave a thumbs-up to his shadow clone with a smug grin.

The dog slowly turned…

…and locked eyes with the retreating clone.

"Damn it… it's that brat! I got ambushed by that brat!"

"When I recover, I'll let him know what real pain is…"

Still groaning in pain, the dog—Princess limped away from the training ground, rage bubbling beneath his fluffy exterior.

His pride was hurt far more than his body.

After that incident, a week had passed.

During that time, Naruto had worked hard, continuously reducing the remaining time on his bloodline development.

Although Team 7 had resumed missions two days later, they were once again stuck doing D-rank jobs—which completely killed Naruto's enthusiasm.

It was the same routine: finding lost pets, helping with gardening, or gathering specific herbs for customers.
