Chapter 52: Chapter 52 : Talent
As Naruto was about to select Ice Release for development, another idea suddenly struck him.
"Wait a minute... this panel can develop talents too, right?" he muttered, narrowing his eyes.
When he thought about talents, the first thing that came to mind was how easily Sakura had mastered chakra control back in the day.
She had completed tree climbing excercise on her very first try.
Meanwhile, Naruto was still practicing chakra control almost every day, yet he still struggled to walk on water properly.
Remembering the tree climbing exercise, he let out a sigh.
Even though he had managed to climb the tree by the end of the first day, it had taken an absurd amount of effort to maintain that control consistently.
And when he moved on to water-walking, it had only gotten worse. He'd fallen into the river so many times he'd lost count.
Kakashi once explained that it was likely because of Naruto's huge chakra reserves, which made it harder to control in small, precise amounts.
In fact, Kakashi had even said that Naruto had slightly more chakra than himself.
Clearly, no one was jealous.
Still, he understood that chakra control was essential if he wanted to master powerful techniques in the future.
"If Sakura's natural talent for chakra control can be copied and developed... that could be a huge win for me."
Eyes narrowing in determination, Naruto pushed aside the Ice Release development tab and selected Sakura's DNA sample for scanning instead.
After all, if the talent was actually useful — and didn't take too long to develop — it would give him a solid foundation to build on.
He tapped the option to begin analyzing Sakura's DNA.
An hour later, a soft ding echoed in his mind as a notification popped up:
---

Naruto smirked.
"So Sakura does have a talent after all... and it's called Precise Chakra Control, huh?"
"Three months? That's way faster than I expected. Totally worth it."
He gave himself a mental pat on the back.
"Heh, smart move checking this first."
Without hesitation, he confirmed the selection.
Three months to develop a rare and useful talent? In his opinion, that was dirt cheap for something that could significantly improve his ability to use ninjutsu.

After reviewing the updated panel, Naruto nodded to himself in satisfaction.
"That's good. Now I just have to wait... "
He grinned."I Can't wait to show off in front of that emo duck after I unlock Precise Chakra Control."
But then a realization hit him.
"Wait... Sasuke already finished water training. Where would I even show off...?"
He had no answer to that question, so he could only wait for the right moment.
Seeing that it was already nighttime, Naruto flopped onto his bed.
"Tomorrow's another mission day..." he mumbled, letting sleep take over.
The Next Day
Hokage Tower
"Kakashi-sensei, why aren't we taking any C-rank missions these days?" Naruto asked curiously.
Kakashi gave him a strange look.
"You guys aren't ready for C-rank missions yet, Naruto—especially you. You even got captured by the enemy."
Hearing that, Sasuke smirked from the side.
"Train more and become stronger first. Then I'll consider taking you on another C-rank mission."
"Sensei, weren't you also captured by Zabuza in that water prison?"
"..."
I was careless at that moment. That's all.
"Anyway, focus on your training. Especially you, Naruto—you're currently the weakest in the group."
"Yes, Sensei…" Naruto sighed, unsure of what to even train for at this point.
"Sensei, can you tell me what I should train in? I don't really have any ninjutsu to practice. I can only work on taijutsu." Naruto asked directly.
Kakashi returned the question calmly.
"What do you want to train in, Naruto?"
Naruto leaned closer, speaking quietly.
"Is there any kind of training to increase chakra? I think I'm lacking in that."
(⊙_☉)
You are lacking what!
When Naruto first learned that the Uzumaki clan was known for their massive chakra reserves, he'd felt proud to be one of them.
But after Kakashi told him that his chakra was only slightly larger than Kakashi's own, he started to question things.
He had expected to be overflowing with chakra—but that didn't seem to be the case.
He was disappointed. After everything he had read about the Uzumaki clan, this didn't feel right.
So now, the first thing he wanted to do was to increase the chakra within his body—at the very least, to feel like a proper Uzumaki.
Meanwhile, Kakashi was staring at Naruto with a strange expression.
'If you are lacking in chakra with that absurd amount of chakra what am I to you…' he thought, his eye twitching.
He regretted lying that day. Now Naruto was under the impression that his chakra reserves were small.
' Wait... if I think about it another way, doesn't that mean Naruto believes I don't have much chakra?' Thinking that, Kakashi's mood soured.
How dare he think I don't have chakra? I'm an elite Jonin! Does he really believe I have a small chakra reserve?
The truth was, if Kakashi gave him proper training to increase chakra reserves, Naruto's chakra might end up being several times larger than his.
But it would take time, and Naruto was still growing — his chakra would naturally increase with age.
Kakashi wasn't against it… but that wasn't what Naruto truly lacked right now.
"Naruto, your chakra reserves are already good. What you're really lacking is ninjutsu."
Naruto gave him a suspicious look but stayed quiet, letting Kakashi continue.
"If you really want, I can teach you some ninjutsu—but first, you need to know your chakra nature.
You also need a certain level of chakra control. Without it, you won't be able to use most ninjutsu effectively."
"Sensei, can we check my chakra nature right now?" Naruto asked eagerly.
Kakashi thought for a moment. Their current missions were just D-rank chores anyway—nothing urgent.
"Alright, let's check everyone's chakra nature today. You've all completed tree-climbing training, so you're ready."
Saying that, Kakashi pulled out a few pieces of paper from his pouch. They looked like simple, square paper slips.
"Sensei, what are these?" Sakura asked curiously.
"These are chakra induction papers. They're used to identify your chakra nature."
He held the papers in his hand and looked at them seriously.
"Chakra control is essential for this exercise. You'll need to channel a small amount of chakra into the paper—too much, and it'll get destroyed before it can react."
"Technically, I should be giving these to you after you become Chūnin… but it doesn't really matter. Since you all know the basics of chakra control now, you're ready to try."
He handed a paper to each of them.
"Now then… let's see what chakra nature each of you has."
