Chapter 65: Chapter 64: Favor
After reading through all three property options, Naruto sat silently, analyzing which one suited him best.
The first option was a good choice...a two-story house in the central district, close to the Hokage building and the market.
But honestly, he wasn't thrilled about the idea of settling in the middle of town...there were just too many people.
If they found out he had moved to the central district… well, he could already imagine the trouble.
The third option was also appealing it was located far from the village, meaning fewer villagers to deal with.
Plus, it was a large house with a personal training ground.
But it had its downsides too. Safety was the biggest concern after what happened to his apartment, security had become his top priority. The area was remote, and that made him uneasy.
Just thinking about his precious limited edition instant noodles being stolen again made his blood boil.
He couldn't let that happen a second time.
Both choices had flaws that bothered him.
The second option, on the other hand, was interesting.
It was a piece of land located slightly outside the residential district, near the Hyuga Clan's territory.
That meant it was quiet and well-guarded. A perfect middle ground.
But there was one problem it was just land.
There wasn't a single structure on it just empty land.He couldn't live there until something was build.
And building a house there would take months.
Naruto sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Ugh… all three have something missing."
He stared at the second document a little longer. If that plot near the Hyuga clan already had a house on it, he probably would've gone with it without hesitation.
Looking up, he turned to Harada.
"Uncle Harada, is there any other land near the Hyuga clan?"
Harada shook his head. "This is the only one currently available. The rest of the nearby property is still owned by the Hyuga clan themselves."
Naruto frowned slightly. "I do like this location… but it doesn't have a house on it.
And isn't it a bit expensive for just a piece of land without any structure on it?"
"Naturally, the price is going to be high,"
Harada said, adjusting his posture confidently. "It's adjacent to the noble Hyuga Clan compound one of the safest areas in the entire village.
With a clean environment and no history of thefts or disturbances, peace of mind like that comes at a price."
He tapped the paper showing the land. "That plot is in a prime location, and honestly, even 22 million ryō is a bargain for it. You could always build a house later."
Naruto frowned. "But I need a place to live right now. What's the point of buying a piece of land if it's just going to sit empty for months while I wait for construction?"
Harada's eyes suddenly lit up with realization.
"Ahh, so that's the issue you want a house there immediately, huh?"
Naruto nodded slowly, still suspicious.
"Well then," Harada grinned, "how about this? You buy the land today… and I'll have a house built on it and ready by noon."
Naruto blinked. "…What?"
He genuinely wondered if he'd heard that right. A whole house? By noon?! Was this guy joking?
"That's right," Harada said with the confidence of a man selling miracle potions.
"Of course, it'll cost a bit extra." He chuckled like a greedy merchant.
"Expedited construction isn't cheap. You'll need extra workers, premium materials, overtime wages but don't worry! The work will be top-quality."
He leaned in closer, lowering his voice like he was sharing a great secret.
"By noon today, that empty patch of land will be transformed into a beautiful home, ready for you to move in."
Naruto stared blankly at him.
"How much is it going to cost me then?" Naruto asked, sweating a little.
He was starting to feel like this guy's intentions were definitely not pure.
Harada put on his best smile and replied smoothly, "It'll come to around 38 million ryō.
Twenty-two million for the land deed, and the remaining sixteen million covers the house, construction, and all other facilities that'll be built.
But fret not it'll be a masterpiece once it's done."
He had clearly thought about the number. The bigger the cost, the more commission he would earn.
And when he first heard Naruto casually drop a budget of 20 million, Harada's eyes lit up.
Harada's instincts honed through years of real estate dealing screamed in excitement.
In that instant, Naruto transformed from a regular client into a fat sheep the fluffiest, juiciest sheep he'd ever seen.
And he was practically walking into the shearing barn on his own.
Still, it wasn't entirely a scam. Harada knew he had to provide proper facilities.
After all, the Hokage himself had sent him, and if he ripped Naruto off, he'd have to answer to Hiruzen Sarutobi...not something any sane man wanted.
As for finishing all the work by this evening, he already had someone in mind.
'Yamato's going to be rich by the end of today,' Harada thought with a grin.
"Thirty-eight million, huh…" Naruto murmured, thinking hard for a moment.
Then he nodded casually. "Alright. I think the price is okay."
Harada's face twitched slightly as he struggled to contain the gleeful grin threatening to break out.
'As expected! I was right about him… this guy really is a big fat sheep!'
If he closed this deal today, it might be the biggest sale of his career.
Although Harada had sold a lot of properties over the years, most of his clients were retired shinobi like himself.
Those houses were usually sold to retired shinobi at a 70% discount, with the village covering that discounted portion.
The remaining 30% was paid by the buyers themselves.
Which meant… in deals like those, Harada barely earned anything. The village paid most of it directly to the seller, not to him.
That's why he was extremely excited about Naruto his first big client in a long time who would pay from his own pocket.
"Let's go. I'll show you the land first, and then we can talk about the rest," Harada said eagerly.
He led Naruto toward the outskirts of the Hyuga Clan's district, just beyond their guarded gates.
"You see that land over there?" Harada pointed. "The one adjacent to the stream that's the plot I was talking about. What do you think? Looks great, right?"
Naruto took a moment to observe.
He nodded in satisfaction.
It was exactly the kind of place he had hoped for slightly secluded, great view, peaceful surroundings, and most importantly.
It was close to Ichiraku Ramen.
"Yeah, it's perfect," Naruto agreed. "But are you seriously telling me you can build an entire house here by evening?"
He looked at Harada skeptically. There was no way that sounded believable.
"You'll see soon," Harada replied with a mysterious smile and turned back toward the Hokage Tower.
After all, when it came to fast, flawless construction, there was only one man for the job...his loyal building machine, Yamato.
ANBU Headquarters
Harada stood calmly in front of Yamato with a strangely kind smile on his face, the kind of smile a merchant gives when eyeing a prized item.
Yamato, seeing his retired senior grinning like that, felt an immediate shiver run down his spine.
"Long time no see, Yamato. You've grown a lot since I last saw you," Harada said, patting his shoulder lightly.
"…Senior Harada, what brings you here today?" Yamato asked cautiously, his instincts tingling.
That smile was anything but normal.
"Oh, it's nothing major. I was just passing by and thought I'd drop in to say hello." Harada's smile somehow grew even gentler… which made it worse.
Yamato stared at him, now 100% sure something was off.
"Yamato," Harada said with a soft tone, "you remember that favor you owe me? The one you haven't repaid yet?"
"…?"
Yamato blinked in confusion.
When did I ever owe you a favor
