Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Lottery System
"Fall… it fell?"
"That two-headed fire ant was knocked down by Renji Takahashi with one punch?!"
"Isn't he a Wood and Spirit Eye type? Don't tell me… is he also cultivating Beast Transformation?"
For a moment, the whole class stood frozen, shocked and confused by Renji's power.
Only someone on the Beast Transformation path should have that kind of raw physical strength.
But Renji wasn't a beast-type at all!
"No, look at his eyes!"
Someone sharp-eyed finally noticed the change in Renji's appearance.
Those were scarlet-red eyes, strange yet captivating, holding an eerie and almost enchanting beauty.
"That's... his Spirit Eye, right?"
"Was that the Spirit Eye's ability just now?"
The students whispered among themselves, unsure what to believe. They could only guess that Renji's Spirit Eye must've played a role in defeating the monster.
But they couldn't see the illusion caused by his Sharingan, so no one could say for sure.
First, his Wood Release—his Wooden Barrier had already stunned them.
Now his Spirit Eye might have taken down the two-headed fire ant.
The defenses themselves weren't that amazing, but what shocked them most was that Renji, the so-called "Strongest Useless Guy," was the one using them.
After all, no one had ever seen a Wood user create a defensive shield before.
And his Spirit Eye—no one had even seen it used in combat until now.
But regardless of how he did it, Renji Takahashi defeated the two-headed fire ant!
Hikaru Saito, who had wanted to humiliate Renji in front of the class, froze in place, seething as Renji stood victorious, receiving cheers from everyone else.
He was so angry, he could practically grind his teeth down to dust.
Renji, on the other hand, walked back feeling pretty good about himself.
As he passed Yuna Hoshizaki, she smiled gently at him and softly said, "You did great."
"Thanks."
Sure, Renji believed in the philosophy of "Cut down the world, not fall for a girl."
But when a girl this beautiful smiles at you like that, praises you in such a sweet voice...
If he didn't react at all, would he even be human?
[Ding! Mission Complete: +100 Energy Points!]
[Lottery System Unlocked!]
As Renji rejoined the Special Class 3 group, the system voice rang out again.
'Mission complete!'
A hundred energy points were credited to his account, and the lottery system was now unlocked.
He quickly opened it up.
It was a spinning wheel with ten powerful techniques:
Flying Thunder God Technique
Sage Mode
Multi Shadow Clone Technique
Eight Trigrams Seal
Reaper Death Seal
Four Symbols Seal
Mangekyō Sharingan (Basic)
Genjutsu: Hanging Technique
Wood Release: Wood Clone
Wood Release: Cutting Technique
'These are all crazy powerful!' Renji couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement.
But when he saw the cost of spinning the wheel—5,000 energy points—he almost cried.
'What the hell, 5,000?!'
That's five thousand, not five hundred. Where was he supposed to get that kind of energy?
And some of those techniques weren't even worth it. Like the Hanging Genjutsu and the Cutting Technique—nice, but maybe worth two or three thousand points at most.
Then there was the Reaper Death Seal... powerful, sure, but it literally killed the user. What kind of idiot would want that?
If he spun the wheel and got one of the lame or suicidal powers, he'd feel like the universe's biggest sucker.
"No way am I gambling with this. Five thousand points could buy me several guaranteed techniques. No lottery for me."
Besides, right now, he only had 100 points.
So, no point in spinning anyway.
Instead, Renji decided to buy something practical.
First, he spent 20 points to fully unlock his Sharingan's Insight ability, completing the three basic Sharingan powers: illusion, copying, and insight.
Now it was a true Sharingan.
He had 80 points left.
The next evolution—the Mangekyō Sharingan—would cost him 8,000 points.
"I'll spend the rest on Wood Release techniques."
Wood Release: Wooden Spear (D-Rank): Creates a wooden spear from the user's body or nearby trees to attack a target. (Costs 10 energy points)
Wood Release: Tree Wall (D-Rank): Summons a wooden shield to protect yourself or others. (Costs 10 energy points)
Wood Release: Explosive Root Tree (C-Rank): Summons vines and roots to create a giant tree that devours enemies, or passively blocks attacks in emergencies. (Costs 60 energy points)
Now Renji had both offense and defense covered—and with his Sharingan fully unlocked, his combat power had jumped several levels.
If another first-level monster showed up, he was sure he could solo it without a problem.
Meanwhile, combat training continued.
When one first-level monster was defeated by the class, the assistant instructors would capture another one from the nearby forest.
Different people performed differently in live combat.
Some were fearless and shined brightly.
Others froze up, unable to move when facing a real monster.
Whenever someone froze, the assistant instructors stepped in, guiding them personally. Everyone had to gain some real battle experience—no exceptions.
Since Renji had been in the first group to finish, he now stood back, observing his classmates' powers.
Some used basic Genjutsu, creating illusions of themselves to confuse the monsters.
The Puppet Users controlled training puppets issued by the academy, attacking from a distance.
The Object Controllers did something similar—controlling weapons or objects to fight the monsters without getting close.
These tactics were relatively safe—the caster didn't have to personally face the danger.
But the downside? If the monster closed the distance, they had almost no way to defend themselves.
Of course, the most common abilities were elemental powers—Wind, Fire, Water, Lightning, and Earth.
Wind users focused on speed and sharp, slicing attacks.
Fire users specialized in explosive, high-damage firepower.
Water users balanced healing and battlefield control.
Lightning users emphasized high speed and burst damage.
Earth users focused on defense and area control.
Of course, those were just the basic tendencies of each element.
Every person's training was unique, and their supernatural powers evolved in their own way.
