Naruto: Damned Reincarnation

Chapter 1: One And Only Life

A winter night envelops Tokyo in a frosty hush. Glimmering lights from streets, buildings, and houses illuminate the vibrant city. Although night time, the city buzzed with energy; Shibuya Crossing is alive with a sea of umbrellas moving in rhythm, their tops dusted with snowflakes.

Snow was a rarity in December. In Japan, it typically didn't arrive until January, making the snowflakes even more magical in its glittering state.

Amid the bustling crowds, a young man crossed the Shibuya Crossing wearing Korean style clothing while holding a yellow umbrella. He held his phone to his ear, listening to a familiar voice he would always hear on a daily basis.

"Are you coming? Everyone is here you know…"

The voice of a man buzzed struggling to be heard over the loud buzz of a massive party in the background.

The young man sighed, with his breath forming steam with each exhale.

With a detached tone, the young man answered, "I don't know. I already told you that I probably won't come. I don't know why you always get your hopes up."

The man on the phone responded with his own sigh and continued, "Fine, but you need to get your own food. I didn't cook anything today because I thought you were gonna come to the party, and I'm not bringing you any food.

The young man chuckled with a sarcastic tone, "Yeah, ok DAD…"

Beeb

The young man hung up and stared at his phone for a couple of seconds. He stored his phone in his pocket and started to walk towards a restaurant.

As he arrived at the entrance door, the door quickly opened and an elderly man came out with a box in hand. The elderly man saw the young man and was startled but quickly composed himself and smiled.

"Ah, if it isn't Inochi! I'm guessing Okane didn't cook today?"

Onochi gave a bitter smile and said, "Yeah… He's at a party right now. I didn't wanna go, so here I am."

The old man, Akiko, shook his head with disappointment and responded, "You're turning 21 next month! Why do you need another man to cook for you?"

"I'm-" Onochi opened his mouth but was quickly cut off by Akiko.

"Yeah yeah. You've been using that excuse since you got out of high school. Is college really burning all your fuel this much?"

Onochi just sighed and continued the conversation. After talking to Akiko, Onochi went inside and grabbed two bags of food, for him and for his roommate, Okane."

As Onochi walked, he started to reflect on his life.

Onochi was born different from others. His family was rich, richer than 90% of Japanese citizens. However, not only that, he was born with intellect far surpassing his peers.

At the age of 8 years old, he could already speak two languages and started algebra. Then at the age of 14, he finished nearly all the college level classes as a freshman in high school.

However, with his intelligence, life felt lifeless to him. He had already done what most could never do at his age. His mindset was different from his peers, and he felt that everything was boring, even if it's things he cannot solve.

Although he was smart, he wasn't perfect. There were some things he could never do or solve. However, instead of feeling delight and trying something new or trying to solve a problem, he'd quit before even trying.

He had one and only friend, his roommate, Okane. Although they were friends, they were the complete opposites. While Onochi was smart, lazy, and gloomy, Okane wasn't the brightest but he burned the brightest when it came to socializing.

As Onochi walked on top of the snow, he sighed and spoke, "I don't get it."

"You've told me so many times to live my life and have fun... Because it's my one and only life." He paused contemplating what he said, "Ha... I guess you're right. But I think it's already too late, in this life..."

"If only I could have multiple lives," chuckled Onochi.

Walking alone, he spoke to himself with a questioning tone, as if the hardest question was asked, "Why and how is he like this? Where is that energy coming from?"

Onochi looked up and chuckled, as he remembered that every time he asked Okane that, he would always call him a "lethargic bitch."

Onochi continued walking and after a few minutes, he saw a playground across the street. He looked at his plastic bag full of food, then looked back at the playground.

With each step he took, the vision of the playground got closer and closer, until a bright light enveloped his right eye. Then in a split second, he saw the park upside down.

*Boom*

With a crash, a loud thud was heard, alerting people nearby. His vision blurred, with a truck with no one driving being the last thing he saw.

"Waah! Waah!"

A cry of a baby echoed throughout the building. The building was made out of rough stone, with dust and sand everywhere. 5 people guarded the building with spears in hand, and inside the building is where a new life is being born.

"It's a healthy male, patriarch!".

The midwife slowly handed the baby to the patriarch with a blooming smile.

The patriarch held his son with trembling hands. His face was filled with joy, but his anxiousness could not be hidden. He was afraid that he would accidentally kill the baby with his strength.

With trembling hands, he finally named the baby, "You shall be named, Onochi!"

-7 years later-

Onochi POV

It's already been 7 years since I came to this world.

The first time I gained consciousness was when I was 5 months old. It only took me a few days to understand that I was in the world of Naruto.

It was fairly easy to come up with that conclusion, when your very own father can breathe flames out of his mouth using hand signs.

Although I know what this world is, I'm not sure where I am currently, and what timeline this era is. From my own deduction, this place should be the Sand village. But I have never heard or read about such a village.

I have tried asking my father, but it seems even he doesn't know what the Sand village is, but he does know that we are currently inside the Land of Wind.

I took a stick from the ground and started to write on the yellow sand.

"So, from the information I've gathered, we shouldn't be in the era of Sage of the Six Paths, because, If i remember correctly, the countries weren't named like that. But, we shouldn't be in the Naruto timelines because the Sand village still doesn't exist."

Finishing the badly drawn timeline, I crossed out many timelines.

"I've also asked my mother whether she knew a guy named Madara Uchiha or Hashirama Senju, but she didn't. So we must be in the 'void' era where the story didn't cover much of it."

Although I have watched Naruto, I wasn't a hardcore fan. If anything, I was casual. With that being said, my calculations might be off. Madara and Hashirama could have just been born or are around the same age as me.

I stood up and looked at the bright blue sky.

Two minutes passed as I thought about my past life. I thought about the old man and my friend.

I chuckled as I remember what he would always say to me whenever I don't hangout with him outside, "You only have one life, might as well live it out now!"

I laughed out loud and said, "I guess you were wrong about the one life part… But you were right about living it out now…"
