Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Rasa—Dead!

The Tragedy at Sea Lord Hill

In the heart of the Wind Country, Rasa led his forces forward, braving the relentless sandstorm.

Sunagakure's current state had left the village in shambles—communication depended on shouting, and travel relied solely on foot.

Even so, Rasa extended a special courtesy to Qi Hai, providing him with a sand platform to ease his journey. This privilege was not extended to anyone else, not even Maki or Temari.

Qi Hai felt conflicted.

Rasa's attempts at camaraderie only made things harder for him. The kindness of this "clueless fool" stirred a pang of guilt in Qi Hai's heart, knowing what fate awaited the Kazekage.

Rasa's genuine gestures were difficult to reconcile with the grim reality that Qi Hai's system demanded his death.

Qi Hai's face twitched involuntarily throughout the journey.

"Lord Kazekage," Maki said, interrupting the somber mood. "Where are we now?"

Rasa observed the surroundings, noting signs of human activity in the otherwise desolate land.

Maki hesitated briefly before answering, "This place had no name before, but it was later called Sea Lord Hill—named by Qi Hai himself. The villagers here live under his protection."

Rasa raised an eyebrow, impressed.

"So, you've been protecting this area?"

Qi Hai smiled faintly, though his heart was heavy. This place… my home for seven long years.

Temari's voice cut through the conversation.

"Look over there!" she exclaimed, pointing to a distant figure.

A massive sand sculpture stood proudly on the hill, about five meters tall.

"It's a statue!" Maki confirmed.

Another ninja chuckled, explaining, "The locals call it the Wild King Statue—a tribute to Qi Hai-sama's protection of this region."

Qi Hai's smile froze.

"Wild King? Seriously?"

The crude, disheveled depiction bore little resemblance to him. If anything, it looked like some unkempt desert hermit.

He felt wronged. I'm so much more handsome than this!

A Sudden Stench of Blood

Suddenly, a gust of wind carried a metallic scent through the air.

Qi Hai's face darkened.

"There's blood!"

Without waiting for orders, Rasa used his chakra to propel the sand platform faster, carrying himself and Qi Hai toward the source.

When they arrived at the village, the sight was nothing short of horrifying.

Bodies were strewn across the ground, their faces frozen in expressions of terror.

The once-thriving settlement of Sea Lord Hill had been reduced to a massacre.

Qi Hai's rage erupted.

"WHO DID THIS?!"

An intense wave of Conqueror's Haki surged from him, causing even Rasa to stagger momentarily.

"Qi Hai, calm yourself," Rasa said, trying to steady his voice. "Look over there—those scales. I know who's behind this."

Rasa's expression darkened as he pointed to a section of snake-like skin left behind near the bodies.

"It's him… Orochimaru!"

The name alone sent a chill through the air.

Qi Hai's fists clenched.

Before he could respond, a sinister voice echoed through the village.

"Oh? So, this is where the famous Sea Lord has been hiding…"

Emerging from the shadows was Orochimaru, accompanied by Kabuto and a pale, fragile-looking boy—Kimimaro.

The snake-like shinobi's golden eyes gleamed with malice as he slithered closer.

"Rasa… I didn't expect to find such an interesting character under your care."

A Fight Breaks Out

Before Orochimaru could say more, Qi Hai's fist shot forward, coated in Armament Haki.

"BANG!"

Orochimaru was sent flying, crashing through several structures before coming to a stop.

"Impressive," Orochimaru muttered, wiping blood from his lips.

"This strength… it's not ordinary. What kind of monster are you, Qi Hai?"

Qi Hai said nothing, his eyes burning with fury.

He took a step forward, preparing to finish the job.

"Stop!" Rasa's voice rang out, halting Qi Hai mid-step.

"This is a matter between me and Orochimaru. Return to the others and await further orders."

Qi Hai hesitated, his instincts screaming to ignore Rasa's command.

"This village was under my protection," he growled. "Their blood is on my hands!"

Rasa stepped forward, his tone firm.

"Qi Hai, as Kazekage, I'm giving you a direct order. Leave this to me."

For a moment, the two locked eyes.

Finally, Qi Hai relented, though not without a glare that spoke volumes.

"This isn't over," he muttered before turning and walking away.

Rasa's Last Mistake

As Qi Hai's figure disappeared into the distance, Orochimaru rose to his feet, a sly grin spreading across his face.

"Well, Rasa," he said, brushing the dust from his robes. "Shall we talk?"

Rasa approached cautiously.

"I assume you have information regarding the Leaf Destruction Plan," he said, his tone cold.

Orochimaru chuckled, his golden eyes gleaming.

"Of course. But first, there's something I'd like to show you…"

Before Rasa could react, Kimimaro sprang into action.

"Dance of the Clematis: Vine!"

A bone whip shot from Kimimaro's spine, wrapping tightly around Rasa.

"What—?!"

Before he could summon his gold dust to defend himself, Orochimaru's blade plunged into his chest.

The legendary Grass Cutter sword pierced straight through Rasa's heart.

The Kazekage gasped, blood spilling from his lips.

"Why…?"

Orochimaru leaned in close, a cruel smile on his face.

"Because, dear Kazekage, you're no longer useful to me."

Rasa's body went limp, his life slipping away.

Orochimaru's Next Move

As Rasa's lifeless body fell to the ground, Orochimaru turned to Kimimaro.

"Excellent work, my dear," he said, patting the boy's head.

Kimimaro's pale face lit up with pride at his master's praise.

With a quick series of hand signs, Orochimaru activated a jutsu.

"Faceless Mimicry Technique!"

As the spell took effect, Rasa's appearance began to change, morphing to perfectly resemble Orochimaru.

The real Orochimaru laughed darkly.

"Now, let's see how much chaos I can stir up with this face…"
