Naruto: Eating A Devil Fruit In The World Of Shinobi

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Manda, the arrogant snake.

At this moment, because of the electricity conducting through the water, Yakushi Kabuto's whole body was partially paralyzed, his movements sluggish. He had no time to dodge or form hand seals.

All he could do was wait for death in terror.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, at the critical moment, a white shadow flashed by like a streak of light, moving so fast it instantly caught Kabuto and vanished on the spot.

Kaito looked up. "Orochimaru, you're still alive? Seems that attack didn't faze you!"

"There's no rush. Plenty of time. If you two want to take the traitor Uchiha Sasuke, you'll have to go through me," Kaito sneered.

"Ayanami Kaito, does it really have to come to this?"

Orochimaru stared coldly at Kaito, his serpentine eyes filled with icy intent. Beside him stood Kabuto Yakushi, still shaken from their recent encounter.

"What do you say? I'll take Sasuke's arms today, and neither of you can stop me."

Kaito then glanced at the somewhat frightened Kabuto. "Konoha isn't a place you come and go freely. If you want to leave, you'll leave something behind. I'm no Tsunade-sama, who has big strength but soft heart, and would give in just because of a few words from Naruto."

"Kaito-san's determined to fight to the death, isn't he?"

"If that's the case, so be it," Kaito shrugged. "Sasuke's left with two arms. I told him to leave, not stay. As long as I watch over Sasuke, neither of you will take him away."

"So..." Kaito sneered, "you two should try to keep your own lives."

Kabuto's body stiffened. If Kaito spared Sasuke, and Orochimaru's strange abilities didn't kill him, then only Kabuto himself could die here—and his strength was no match.

"Besides, you broke Sasuke's arms. With your research, can't you restore him fully?" Kaito spoke.

Sasuke, nearby, felt as if trapped inside an icy cavern. The chill spread through him, and once again he realized the grave consequences of angering Kaito.

"Kaito-san! Looks like I can't take Sasuke back without defeating you today!"

Orochimaru's eyes glinted with murderous intent as he spoke hoarsely.

He slowly stretched out his hand. Kabuto immediately obeyed, biting his finger to mix his chakra and quickly forming hand seals.

A loud shout erupted.

"The Art of Spiritual Communication!"

A purple streak appeared, and a massive purple serpent summoned beneath Orochimaru and Kabuto.

Crash!

Thousands of snakes plunged into the water, splashing everywhere.

The colossal snake rose, tongue flickering like a serpent's, its body over ten meters long. It towered like an ancient beast awakening, blocking the sun and sky.

"Orochimaru-sama! Why did you call me here? Remember, prepare 100 sacrifices!"

The giant snake opened its mouth with a sound like a massive bell toll, fiercely commanding.

"Don't worry, Manda sama," Kabuto said respectfully. "Once this is over, we'll deliver 100 sacrifices to you."

"That's good! Opponent's that one! You're getting worse, making me trouble myself for such a small matter!"

The snake twisted its head and glared at Kaito with disdain.

"Manda sama! Don't underestimate him!"

Before Kabuto could speak, the countless snakes around interrupted him.

"Stop talking nonsense. I want to go back and rest! I'll swallow this small fry in one gulp!"

Proud, arrogant, and unruly—this was how Kaito described Manda.

Call out!

Though huge, the snake bodies were incredibly flexible and surprisingly fast.

They circled the Valley of the End, then opened their jaws, swallowing the valley below whole.

Squeak!

Red lightning crackled in Kaito's palm. In an instant, a massive sword several meters long appeared in his hand.

Seeing the thousands of snakes closing in, Kaito raised his arm and swung vertically.

Like a collapsing pillar, the red sword shone cold and sharp, carrying the destructive power of thunder and lightning as it sliced toward the snakes.

The Ten Thousand Snakes twisted and changed course to attack again.

Kaito sneered, placing the giant thunder sword across his chest as his mind raced.

Thousands of sharp lightning bolts shot from the sword like arrows, piercing toward Manda and the others nearby.

Crash!

"You troublesome little devil. When I reach you, I'll eat you whole!" Manda hissed bloodthirstily.

The massive snake body suddenly dove into the lake.

"Oh no!" Kabuto thought, sensing something was wrong.

He was recently electrocuted by Kaito while in the water.

Just as he opened his mouth to warn Orochimaru, Manda's agile body swept them both into the depths.

Ignoring the snakes, Kabuto dashed from the water carrying Orochimaru.

"Foolish!" Kaito sneered.

He leapt and plunged the giant thunder sword straight into the lake.

At that moment, Kabuto burst from the water holding Orochimaru.

"Fools" Kaito murmured.

Suddenly, Orochimaru and Kabuto attacked.

Kabuto held Orochimaru with one hand while quickly forming seals with the other.

Orochimaru extended his neck, snapped the Kusanagi sword in half, and struck toward Kaito.

"You don't know your limits!"

He curled his lips as his other hand transformed into a spear of red lightning, stabbing at Kabuto.

Kaito ignored Orochimaru's attack.

With Orochimaru's hands sealed, that was the only jutsu he could use.

Most would be afraid, but Kaito remained calm. Elemental ninjutsu was no match for physical power.

Meanwhile, the lake's surface rippled wildly where Kaito plunged the thunder sword.

Lightning far stronger than any high voltage current surged rapidly through the water.

The entire lake glowed red, like a sea of fire clouds—a breathtaking sight.

Beneath the surface, thousands of snakes sensed the electric current and writhed in pain, their bodies numb.

Soon, they caught the scent of the lagoon and retreated swiftly.

Without hesitation, they returned to their lair. Staying longer would have meant electrocution.

Kaito made a mental note to offer the big snake more sacrifices next time.

Bang!

A plume of smoke rose from the lake as Kaito retracted the giant sword.
