Chapter 23: Chapter 8: Turmoil in Konoha!
It was nighttime in Konoha, but the village was far from peaceful. Lights flickered in many homes, and shinobi jumped from rooftop to rooftop, assessing the situation. Tension hung in the air, thick and unyielding. Ninja squads had been dispatched beyond the village borders, ensuring that no rival villages would seize the opportunity to attack while Konoha was vulnerable.
The reason for this unrest was grim: the Uchiha clan had been massacred. Itachi Uchiha, once a promising ninja, had killed his entire family. Hiruzen Sarutobi sat at the council table, his face etched with fatigue and sorrow, as he relayed this devastating news to the clan heads gathered before him.
"Itachi Uchiha... slaughtered his clan," Hiruzen began, his voice heavy with the weight of what had occurred. "According to Hitomi Uchiha, the sole survivor, Itachi did this to prove his strength. He left her alive only because of the intervention of her friends, Yuto Yamanaka and Naruko Uzumaki. They found Itachi in the midst of his massacre, Yuto let naruko take hitomi away to inform me while he distracted Itachi. But before I could arrive and stop him, he had already left after he unleashed a powerful Genjutsu on yuto, leaving Yuto unconscious."
A murmur of concern spread through the council. The mention of Naruko and Yuto, especially in such a life-threatening situation, raised alarm bells. The Yamanaka clan head, Inoichi, clenched his fists, his face tightening with anger. The protege of his clan had almost been killed by a traitor.
'Him, of all people? That boy… so young, and yet…' Inoichi's thoughts swirled as he tried to suppress his growing fury.
Hiruzen continued, "The involvement of Naruko, the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, and Yuto, this generation's Strongest Genius, is particularly alarming. We cannot ignore the fact that she and Yuto, two of our most promising young ninja, faced such danger."
The council's atmosphere grew even more tense. To have the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki involved was enough to cause widespread panic, but the thought of Yuto Yamanaka—long considered a prodigy—nearly dying left the clan heads shaken.
Hiruzen sighed deeply. "There is one more matter. While protecting Hitomi and Naruko, Yuto unlocked a bloodline limit—an ability we have never seen before."
The room fell into a stunned silence. The notion of Yuto having a bloodline limit was shocking; the Yamanaka clan had never been known to possess any such power.
Inoichi stood abruptly, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Hokage-sama... a bloodline limit? That's impossible. The Yamanaka do not possess such abilities."
Hiruzen nodded. "I understand your shock, Inoichi. We were all surprised. However, the medical team's tests revealed something unusual in Yuto's bloodline. It appears that Yuto's grandfather was a Senju, and while the Yamanaka blood runs strong in him, the cells from the Senju side, combined with an unknown third element, triggered the awakening of his new dojutsu."
'Yuto's grandfather was a Senju…?' Inoichi thought in disbelief, his mind racing. 'But what about the other unknown element?'
Hiruzen produced a file and read aloud, "According to the report, Yuto's body contains Yamanaka cells, Senju cells, and a third, unidentified genetic structure that reacted to his emotions. His eyes changed that night, creating a new dojutsu. We believe it was a combination of these three bloodlines that led to its awakening."
The clan heads exchanged uneasy glances. Yuto had not only unlocked a powerful new ability, but it was one that defied known logic.
Elsewhere, deep in the shadows of his headquarters, Danzo sat, listening to the report from his Root agents. His sharp eyes narrowed as he considered the implications of what he had just learned.
"A new bloodline limit, you say... Yuto Yamanaka," he muttered to himself, tapping his fingers on the armrest of his chair. "A combination of Senju, Yamanaka, and something unknown. I must keep an eye on this boy."
Danzo knew the potential threat such power posed. If left unchecked, Yuto could become a dangerous factor in Konoha's future, and Danzo was not one to let potential threats grow beyond his control. If he could, he would already rip Yuto's eyes and use them himself for the protection of Konoha.
"For now," Danzo whispered, "I'll have Root keep close watch on him. If his power becomes too great... I will act."
The next morning, Yuto woke up to the soft sunlight streaming through the hospital window. His body felt heavy, but he stretched, wincing at the lingering ache in his limbs. Before he could gather his thoughts, the door to his room burst open, and two familiar figures rushed inside, nearly knocking him over.
"Yuto!" Naruko cried, tears streaming down her face as she clung to his waist. "You're okay!"
Hitomi was right behind her, her eyes red and swollen from crying. She threw her arms around him too, her sobs muffled against his shoulder.
Yuto's heart clenched as he gently patted their backs. 'They must have been so scared,' he thought, feeling the weight of their relief and fear.
"I'm fine," he said softly, though his mind replayed the horrific events of the night before. "I'm okay, really."
After what felt like an eternity, they finally calmed down enough to let him breathe. The Third Hokage entered the room, followed by Inoichi. Hiruzen's face was a mixture of relief and concern.
"Yuto," Hiruzen began, "how are you feeling?"
"I'm alright," Yuto replied, glancing at the two girls beside him, who still hadn't let go of his arms. "I just have a bit of a headache."
The Hokage nodded, his gaze softening. "I'm glad to hear that. But we need to ask you what happened after Hitomi and Naruko left. We know Itachi placed you under a Genjutsu, but beyond that, we don't have the full story."
Yuto hesitated, knowing he had to tread carefully. 'I can't let them know about the full truth. I need to play it smart. Let's try to develop the Kamigan story that I had rehearsed.'
"My eyes... they changed," Yuto began, rubbing the back of his head. "It was strange. It felt like they activated on their own. Itachi noticed and said he was intrigued. He mentioned something about wanting to fight me again in the future after I've mastered these powers."
Naruko's eyes flared with anger. "That bastard! I swear, I'll beat him myself for what he did to Aunt Mikoto!" Her hands balled into fists, shaking with fury.
Hitomi, too, clenched her fists, her voice barely a whisper. "I'll make him pay, no,.....Yuto...Naruko.....we'll make him pay."
Inoichi, standing beside the Hokage, cleared his throat, trying to change the subject. "Yuto... can you show us your eyes?"
Yuto glanced at him, then at the Hokage. With a slight nod, he focused his chakra, and his eyes shifted from their normal emerald green to a deep, glowing red.
Naruko's mouth dropped open. "Whoa! How did you do that, Yuto!? That's so cool! I want my eyes to do that too!" She tried to close and open her eyes to let them change, but they didn't change. She pouted, crossing her arms. "It's not fair!"
Hitomi, intrigued, activated her Sharingan for the first time since the massacre. The room felt like it slowed as her eyes picked up the subtle shifts of chakra from Yuto's glowing red eyes.
"Your Sharingan has awakened," Hiruzen said to Hitomi, his voice kind. "You've inherited the bloodline of your clan."
Naruko groaned, clearly frustrated. "Why do both of you get cool eyes and I don't?"
The Hokage chuckled softly. "Naruko, some abilities come with bloodlines. Yuto's comes from a combination of Yamanaka, Senju, and an unknown element, while Hitomi's Sharingan is an Uchiha bloodline. You have your own gifts, though."
Naruko, not entirely convinced, shot a glare at Hitomi, who returned it with a smirk. In seconds, the two were butting heads, arguing about who needs stupid eyes (Naruko) and to admit that you are jealous (Hitomi). Yuto sighed, caught in the middle as their voices grew louder and more competitive.
"You two—stop it!" Yuto groaned as Hitomi gave Naruko a light shove. "Can we just focus?"
Hiruzen and Inoichi exchanged amused looks as they quietly left the room, the sounds of bickering and Yuto's exasperated sighs echoing behind them.
'Good luck, Yuto,' Hiruzen thought as he walked away, a small smile tugging at his lips.
