Chapter 234: A Clash of Strength—The True Language of the Sea!

Upon receiving his mission from Marine Headquarters, Aokiji set out to invite Uchiha Yi to replace the defeated Crocodile as a Warlord of the Sea.

On the surface, Aokiji acted indifferent, complaining about the hassle.

But his actions spoke differently—he still went after him.

After all, Nico Robin was now aboard this pirate crew.

There was no way he could rest easy leaving Robin in the hands of someone whose true nature remained unknown.

By the time Aokiji reached the coast, Uchiha Yi and his crew had already set sail.

Still, he wasn't too late.

Kicking off on his bicycle, he pursued them across the sea.

Not long after, he caught up.

As Robin watched in horror, Aokiji boarded their ship without permission.

Uchiha Yi, however, didn't even bat an eye, continuing to bask in the sun.

"Mind if I hitch a ride?"

Without waiting for an answer, Aokiji settled into an empty lounge chair beside him.

For a moment, the two of them lay side by side in complete silence.

The atmosphere was so oddly peaceful that it was almost unsettling.

After all, they were supposed to be enemies—one a Marine Admiral, the other a rising pirate.

That they hadn't immediately come to blows was clearly abnormal.

Nojiko, Robin, and Vivi watched with confusion and unease, unable to relax.

"That woman has already joined your Nameless Pirate Crew?"

After what felt like an eternity, Aokiji finally broke the silence, pointing at Robin.

"Mm."

Uchiha Yi gave a half-hearted nod, already knowing why Aokiji was here.

In this world of pirates, arguing with words was pointless.

The only language that mattered was power.

Whoever won the fight had the right to speak.

So even though he understood Aokiji's intentions, he had no interest in engaging in a meaningless debate.

He simply let Aokiji talk.

"Do you know who she is?"

Aokiji continued, seemingly unaware of Uchiha Yi's disinterest.

"No. Why don't you tell me?"

Uchiha Yi replied calmly, indulging him.

"She's the Devil's Child."

"She lies, she betrays."

"Her existence only brings misfortune to those around her."

"Are you sure you still want her in your crew?"

Aokiji warned him 'kindly', not realizing how absurd it was for a Marine Admiral to be telling a pirate who he should or shouldn't recruit.

"Mm."

Uchiha Yi nodded again, completely unfazed.

"Ahh… this is such a pain."

"As I thought, I'm really not cut out for lecturing people."

This time, Aokiji finally noticed Uchiha Yi's disinterest.

The pirate's apathetic attitude made it clear—

"Say whatever you want, but I don't care."

Scratching his curly hair in frustration, Aokiji let out a self-deprecating laugh.

Uchiha Yi remained silent, letting Aokiji talk to himself.

"Since that's the case, I guess I'll have to test whether you have the strength to back up your decisions."

Seeing that words weren't working, Aokiji's expression shifted instantly.

"You should've just done this from the start."

"Why waste so much time on pointless talk?"

"My ears are going numb from listening to this nonsense."

Uchiha Yi sighed in mild irritation.

Compared to Madara's sharp, arrogant taunts, Aokiji's speech felt dull and uninspired.

From the very beginning, Uchiha Yi had no interest in this conversation.

Now that Aokiji finally wanted to fight, he felt slightly more engaged.

Of course, as a Marine Admiral, Aokiji was meant to be Nami's future opponent.

So Uchiha Yi had no intention of killing him.

But beating him into the ground first?

That was perfectly fine.

The once peaceful atmosphere shattered in an instant.

Tension filled the air, and the fight was on the verge of erupting.

"There's an island ahead."

"Let's fight there."

"Alright."

Both of them wanted to clash, yet neither had any intention of destroying the ship.

So when Uchiha Yi suggested moving to land, Aokiji agreed without hesitation.

The two of them abandoned the ship, each using their own methods to reach the uninhabited island ahead.

Barren and lifeless, it was the perfect battlefield.

"Even though I was sent here on a mission…"

"Let's talk after we fight."

Aokiji stated flatly.

He held no real hostility toward Uchiha Yi.

His goal was simply to see whether this pirate was truly strong enough to protect Robin.

He had watched Robin suffer betrayal after betrayal.

He wouldn't let that happen again.

"Is that so?"

"In that case, let me give you a little gift first."

"Picture Library: Heaven's Obstacle—Meteor Rain! x99!"

Without hesitation, Uchiha Yi raised his hand.

In an instant, the battlefield transformed into a scene of pure devastation.

Above them, a massive shadow darkened the sky.

Looking up, Aokiji saw dozens upon dozens of colossal meteors hurtling toward the island!

If they all landed at once, the island would be completely obliterated.

"You do realize I'm a Logia user, right?"

"Even if there's no land left, I can move freely on the ocean."

"This only puts you at a disadvantage."

Frowning, Aokiji didn't understand Uchiha Yi's reasoning.

"That's none of your concern."

Uchiha Yi replied indifferently.

"It just looks cool. That's reason enough."

Besides, he had no weaknesses when it came to battlefield terrain.

At a certain level of power, location barely mattered anymore.

"Ice Age!"

After a brief pause, Aokiji decided to freeze the surrounding sea, ensuring that he had an advantage in the fight.

Against someone who had easily defeated Crocodile, he knew better than to hold back.

Taking this seriously was only logical.
