Naruto: Fooling the Ninja World, I'm Hailed as a Savior

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: This Road is Blocked

The Konoha sky had taken on an inky hue; the reception lasted until evening.

"You've worked hard today. Please rest well."

Outside the guest rooms specially reserved for foreign dignitaries, Rinna smiled, bowing slightly to the three Hidden Cloud ninjas. "I will accompany you to the subsequent events tomorrow. Before that, you have ample time to relax from your journey's fatigue; no one will disturb you."

After a warm, soft-spoken admonition, Rinna gently closed the door.

Click.

Inside the guest room, two Hidden Cloud ninjas raised their hands to rub their cheeks, which had grown stiff from smiling all day. One of them turned to look at Yūrui, who was scanning the room's furnishings with his gaze.

"Boss," he murmured, inclining his head towards the door, "Was that last sentence a threat?"

Yūrui silently withdrew his gaze, not answering his question. He walked into the spacious living room and sat down on the sofa. Seeing this, the two Hidden Cloud ninjas exchanged glances, tacitly dropping the topic.

Instead, they entered the living room, glanced at the décor, and exclaimed, "As expected of Konoha, they're really rich! Even their guest accommodations are this luxurious."

While saying this, the two Hidden Cloud ninjas slipped their hands into their pockets. A small barrier, designed to block perception, was activated. Invisible ripples spread through the air, and a voice echoed in Yūrui's and the other Hidden Cloud ninja's minds.

'Boss, are there any surveillance or listening devices?'

"It's an honor," Yūrui said, his expression unchanged, his tone normal. "It seems Konoha truly treats us as 'distinguished guests.'"

The two Hidden Cloud ninjas immediately understood, and began to chime in with irrelevant chatter, discussing where they would go sightseeing in the coming days.

When they mentioned the FUN FUN Street not far from Konoha, they even let out somewhat lewd laughs.

Meanwhile, Rinna, standing outside the door with her back to it, slowly opened her previously closed eyes.

Although she knew that as a ninja she shouldn't be swayed by emotions, hearing the vulgar words, characteristic of the Hidden Cloud Village's rough style, as a young woman she couldn't help but frown.

"No chakra fluctuations detected, no abnormal movements found…"

Rinna quickly suppressed her displeasure, lowered her hand seals, but remained vigilant. If she could, she would have preferred that the Third Hokage search the three or place some listening and surveillance barriers in the room.

But this suggestion was gently but firmly rejected by the Third Hokage; after all, the Hidden Cloud Village had shown great sincerity so far, and if Konoha were discovered making covert moves, it would give them leverage.

However, Rinna had an ominous premonition, though she couldn't pinpoint why. Perhaps it was a woman's sixth sense.

Inside the room, Yūrui stood before the floor-to-ceiling window of the high-floor guest room, overlooking Konoha, which remained busy even in the evening.

He watched the crowds flowing like ants on the streets below. After a moment of silence, Yūrui quickly raised his hand to form seals, and the chakra he had long accumulated surged forth.

Ushi – Inu – Tatsu – Ne – Inu – I – Mi – Tora.

Boom!

A silent puff of white smoke exploded, and a Shadow Clone appeared beside him.

"Let's move," Yūrui's true body said calmly. "For the Hidden Cloud Village."

The two Hidden Cloud ninjas exchanged glances. At this moment, they clearly understood that regardless of the success of this mission, they would certainly not survive. Only if all three of them died here would the "weight" of threatening Konoha be sufficient.

"For the Hidden Cloud Village!"

The resolute voices of the two Hidden Cloud ninjas overlapped as they simultaneously raised their hands and rapidly formed seals. Their chakra surged out at that instant.

BOOM!!

An explosion that shook the night sky echoed through Konoha in the evening. Apartment windows, storefront displays, and streetlights shattered like rain under the sweeping shockwave!

"Ah!"

"What happened!?"

Pedestrians on the surrounding streets instinctively screamed, their faces filled with terror as they looked towards the direction of the booming sound.

They saw countless birds startled into flight, and black smoke billowing from the fifth floor of the guesthouse apartment.

A huge hole had been blown in the apartment wall, and countless bricks and debris flew down from high above, smashing onto the ground. Among them, three figures also flew out and plummeted.

Thud! Thud!

The impact of falling from dozens of meters high shattered the ground, creating cracks, and glaring crimson blood flowed out.

By this point, many villagers had heard the loud noise and rushed out of their shops and homes to check the situation, witnessing the three figures fall from above with their own eyes.

Two of the figures lost all signs of life the moment they hit the ground. Only one figure, after spitting out a mouthful of blood, struggled to get up and roared, "Konoha! How dare you betray the alliance?!"

The fury in that roar seemed genuine, leaving the surrounding Konoha villagers stunned. They watched as that figure fled.

Coming to their senses, someone finally recognized the two figures lying on the ground, and their faces immediately turned to horror.

"Those two… those are the Hidden Cloud envoys!"

The second after someone tremblingly uttered those words, Rinna, charred and with torn clothes, Shunshined into place. Her face instantly went pale upon seeing the two corpses.

How could this be?! Someone planted explosive tags in the Hidden Cloud envoy's guest room beforehand?!

"Damn it! I must report this to the Third Hokage!"

Although she hadn't realized it was a self-staged event by the Hidden Cloud, Rinna instantly recognized the gravity of the situation.

Gritting her teeth, she endured her heavy injuries from the explosion, formed a hand seal, and sent a Shadow Clone to pursue the sole surviving Hidden Cloud ninja.

Then, she rushed with all her might towards the Hokage's office building.

Meanwhile, the distraught Rinna didn't notice that, amidst a plume of black smoke overhead, a figure subtly leaped out. It was Yūrui, the only surviving Hidden Cloud ninja.

And the "Yūrui" that Rinna sent a Shadow Clone to pursue was merely another Shadow Clone. The other Konoha ninjas who arrived were also led astray by the Shadow Clone, believing he intended to flee Konoha.

But in reality, his true target was not escaping Konoha, but the Hyuga clan compound in the opposite direction.

"Rest in peace. You are all heroes of the Hidden Cloud Village. I will reunite with you soon."

Yūrui's gaze was complex as he looked at the two corpses below, then unleashed his Shunshin Jutsu with full power. Soon, he arrived at the forest near the Hyuga clan compound. The entire process was incredibly smooth.

But the next moment, as his figure was enveloped by the dense tree shadows, and his vision suddenly plunged into darkness. A distinctly jointed hand, gripping a short blade, suddenly extended from the deep shadows.

Almost out of pure battle-hardened instinct, Yūrui instinctively raised the kunai in his hand.

Clang!!

Blade met blade with a piercing sound that made Yūrui's ears ring. His wrist, gripping the blade, emitted a crisp snap. Using the immense force, he leaped backward to create distance.

"Who are you?"

His face slightly darkened as he raised his eyes to look into the distance, seeing a figure in a black robe emerge from the shadows, a short blade in their hand reflecting the cold moonlight.

"This road is blocked," Hyuga Kawa's voice was hoarse but calm, as he faced the "supporting character" who had finally appeared. "Stop right here."
