Naruto: Fooling the Ninja World, I'm Hailed as a Savior

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Otsutsuki Toneri, the Demon of the Shinobi World

The rain kept falling, heavier and heavier. In the sky, there were no scattered stars to be seen, only a blanket of dark clouds.

However, unlike the surface of the shinobi world, there was a hidden world within the moon, among the stars. Here, there were seas and land, birds and fish, flowers and insects, and even villages and stone houses. From the outside, it was indistinguishable from the shinobi world, only more ancient. The sole difference was that it was empty, a mere ruin.

At the very center of the moon's interior, above the false sky, a "sun" glowed warmly. Inside this "sun" was emptiness, boundless emptiness. Islands of various shapes floated in the air, as if adrift in a starless universe. All that met the eye was a hazy blur; no ground could be seen, yet the edge of the "sky" could be touched. Living in such a place for extended periods, unable to distinguish between heaven and earth, a sense of nihilism would arise within.

However, for Otsutsuki Toneri, who had lived his entire life since birth within this "artificial sun," this small, confined world was his entire universe. He had long grown accustomed to this empty, cold stillness.

"Father."

Young Otsutsuki Toneri sat obediently on the ground. He had pale skin and long blue-white hair. He looked up with empty eye sockets at the man before him. "Grandpa Shōji hasn't come in a long time." He wasn't asking a question; he was stating a fact. He was only three years old and had been born without eyes, yet he could clearly perceive the world before him with his naturally powerful bloodline. The "Grandpa Shōji" Toneri spoke of was a gentle old man, but like the other elders who had disappeared periodically over the past three years, he too had vanished.

"Toneri, Grandpa Shōji won't be coming."

Toneri's father reached out and gently stroked his hair, his voice calm. "You must grow up quickly. One day, I too will be gone."

"Like the other grandpas?" Otsutsuki Toneri asked.

"Yes," Toneri's father nodded gently. "You were born to save the world, but you currently lack power, and we will become your power."

"Only with a sword hanging over their heads will those who have gone astray and disrupted the peace and order of the world awaken."

Otsutsuki Toneri nodded, somewhat bewildered. Then, with a childish voice, he looked up and asked, "Will you come back then?"

He didn't hear his father's reply. After a long silence, he heard his father say in a very soft voice, chuckling, "We have always been here, so what does 'return' mean?"

The elder brother of the Progenitor Hamura, the Sage of Six Paths, the progenitor of ninshū in the shinobi world, personally created such a shinobi world.

The original intention of the Sage of Six Paths in establishing ninshū was for chakra to become a connecting force between people, to transform chakra into a bond between people, to create a world without war, where everyone could coexist peacefully.

However, after the Sage of Six Paths passed away, humans began to use chakra as a weapon for slaughter, constantly instigating wars as time progressed—long, endless wars.

Ninjas never ceased fighting, infinite and relentless wars… From the moment Otsutsuki Toneri was born, the entire Branch House knew that destiny was on their side. The ninjas of the shinobi world were destined to be cleansed. The birth of those belligerent, cruel, and bloodthirsty demons was a mistake!

Just as Toneri's father was about to continue indoctrinating Toneri with the Branch House's extreme ideology,

Hum!

An invisible aura surged in the air, startling him. He abruptly looked up and out the window. The crescent-shaped island floating in the distance was vibrating with a buzzing sound. Toneri's father rushed out of the palace without hesitation, bumping into two other people. The three exchanged grim glances and nodded, then flew together towards the distant crescent-shaped island.

Currently, very few Otsutsuki clan members remained alive on the moon. All female clan members of child-bearing age had died in the war between the Main and Branch Houses several years ago.

The ferocity of that battle left only the old, weak, and infirm. These three individuals, including Toneri's father, were normally responsible for guarding the Otsutsuki treasure, the "Giant Tenseigan."

Buzz buzz! Hum!

Entering the interior of the island through the passageway, the invisible fluctuations grew stronger and stronger. The white robes of the three fluttered wildly. When they reached the end of the passageway and entered an open space, they saw the eye, dozens of meters in diameter, at the center of several circular tracks.

That golden eye was the true form of the Giant Tenseigan. However, the circular tracks, which should have orbited the Tenseigan at a steady speed like a star-ring, were now furiously churning, as if disturbed by an invisible finger.

"What's going on?!" Toneri's father's eyes were filled with profound alarm. "Why would the Tenseigan suddenly act like this?!"

Golden light particles were now gushing forth from the Tenseigan's pupil like a breached dam of fireflies.

The light flowed like blood through veins, crashing against objects, exploding into tiny light spots, and then flowing outwards. Even though this Tenseigan was still only a half-finished product, such an anomaly had never occurred in the past several years.

One of the elders released chakra, linking with the Tenseigan, and gradually sensed the direction in which the "dōjutsu power" was draining.

"Impossible!"

He abruptly widened his eyes, which seemed almost to pop out, and said hoarsely, "The Tenseigan is responding to someone's call in the shinobi world!"

"Impossible!" Toneri's father also blurted out instinctively. "How could that be? How could those demons be worthy of a response from the sacred relic?!"

Another elder, clearly more composed, though equally disbelieving of the news, calmly looked at the brown-haired elder and asked, "Can you identify that person or pinpoint their exact location?"

"No," the brown-haired elder frowned, shaking his head. "The weather in the shinobi world is very bad; it's interfering with my observation." Speaking of this, he paused, then closed his eyes again, his face gradually turning pale. A moment later, he abruptly opened his eyes and said in a deep voice, "The Land of Fire! The approximate location is near the Land of Fire!"

"Those damn ninjas again!" Veins bulged on Toneri's father's forehead as he said hatefully, "Stealing the Gedo Mazo wasn't enough, and now they even dare to covet the Tenseigan! Unforgivable!" This Giant Tenseigan was prepared for Toneri. It was a supreme sacred relic formed by the sacrifice of countless clan members' lives and the convergence of countless Byakugan dōjutsu power.

They absolutely could not tolerate those demons of the shinobi world laying their hands on it! If he found out who was so audacious, he would ensure that person died without a burial place!

"Quick!" Toneri's father suddenly looked up and said grimly, "Immediately set up a seal to cut off the Tenseigan's connection to the outside world!"

Hearing this, the other two elders exchanged glances and nodded as if having made a decision. They sat cross-legged on the ground, closing their eyes. Toneri's father also sat cross-legged.

"Containment!" The three roared in a low voice. Their chakra was drained, their faces instantly turning pale and withered, their flesh and spirit squeezed dry. The trembling Tenseigan then began to gradually calm down.

Click.

Otsutsuki Toneri sat quietly in his room. After an unknown amount of time, he heard the door to his room gently push open. However, unlike before, his father's breathing was hoarse and ragged, like a broken bellows, carrying an incredibly decayed scent.

"Father…" Toneri subconsciously called out softly.

"Cough cough! Cough!" A rough, wrinkled hand rested on his head, a hoarse voice saying, "Toneri, you've always wanted to see the shinobi world with your own eyes, haven't you?"

Hearing this, Otsutsuki Toneri, who had been about to say something, immediately put his doubts aside and blurted out, "Can I, Father?"

Toneri's father remained silent for a moment, thinking of the two deceased clan members, his own gradually withered body, Toneri's lonely future, and those demons of the shinobi world… A hint of hatred appeared in his eyes, and finally, he slowly nodded. "You can."

"Prepare yourself. I will take you to the shinobi world in a few days."

"I will let you see with your own eyes the ugliness and sin of the ninjas."
