Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Raising Troops for the Capital!
After dealing with the Hyuga, Seiryu left his office with his blade and went to the new prison by the Naka River.
Kakashi, after rescuing Hiashi, returned and hurried to interrogate the surviving Koharu and Mitokado members.
Once Yuta and Kun admitted to Iwagakure's support, the rest was easy for Kakashi.
Kakashi invited two retired jonin from the Yamanaka clan—Yamanaka Inoichi even personally escorted them. The captured clan ninjas were immediately mind-read by the Yamanaka, rendered into vegetables, and executed on the spot.
This was standard for traitors in all ninja villages.
Kakashi even tied the now one-armed clan leaders and two advisors to chairs to watch the entire process.
Seeing their painstakingly built clans destroyed, the advisors struggled and glared with rage.
Soon, Seiryu arrived. Entering the interrogation room, he sat in the chair Kakashi vacated and looked at the four bound people with a half-smile.
The advisors struggled violently when they saw him.
"It seems you have something to say?" Seiryu signaled Kakashi, who dismissed everyone else and removed the cloth from their mouths.
"Uchiha Seiryu, you'll die a miserable death!" Koharu spat as soon as she could speak.
The next second, a police baton smashed her mouth. Kakashi had probably wanted to do this for a while—he struck hard, knocking out most of her teeth and silencing her.
"I'm genuinely curious," Seiryu said slowly. "I spared your clans out of respect for the Third. In other villages, losers like you would be wiped out. Why insist on self-destruction?"
"Hmph, someone as evil as you shouldn't be Hokage! The Second should've wiped out your whole clan during the Uchiha rebellion!" Mitokado shouted. He too was silenced by a baton blow.
"And you dare mention the Second?" Seiryu laughed. "Did he ever teach you to collude with foreign powers to achieve your goals?"
"Hmph, Seiryu, you should think about explaining this to the Daimyo! With such chaos right after you became Hokage, the Daimyo will never forgive you! Your good days are numbered!" Koharu, spitting blood, said through her broken teeth.
"Is that so?" Seiryu smiled. "I suppose you're right. What should I tell the Daimyo? That is a problem..."
"So, why not just change the Daimyo?" Seiryu grinned.
Just then, someone burst into the interrogation room.
"Hokage-sama! Urgent news from the Land of Fire's capital! Orochimaru attacked the Daimyo; the heir is dead and the Daimyo gravely wounded! The Twelve Guardian Ninja are fighting desperately! Please hurry to the capital to assist!"
The urgent report echoed through the underground room as Seiryu and Kakashi exchanged knowing looks with the four prisoners.
"Seiryu... you... you..." Koharu and Mitokado stared at him in terror, their expressions making it clear Seiryu was involved.
"Kakashi, send them on their way. Then gather the elite jonin—we're heading to the capital."
The two advisors tried to say more, but kunai sliced their throats. Their cries turned to hoarse wheezing as their lives faded away.
Seiryu finished off the other two, then strode out, addressing the Daimyo's ninja messenger.
"What? The Daimyo was attacked? Kakashi! Gather all available elite jonin. I'll go ahead—you catch up!"
"Understood!" Kakashi responded, running for the police base.
Seiryu told the messenger, "Come with me—explain everything in detail on the way!"
"Y-yes," the ninja gasped.
The next second, Seiryu grabbed him, then, wreathed in lightning, shot toward the capital as a bolt of blue light.
Kakashi meanwhile gathered the elite jonin and rushed out of the village toward the capital.
…
At that moment, in the Land of Fire's capital, Orochimaru and Manda rampaged through the Daimyo's palace. The once luxurious sleeping quarters were now ruins. Only one small building remained, where a few ninja maintained a golden Thousand-Armed Kannon barrier, desperately holding back the attackers. Orochimaru's rogue ninja army slaughtered the palace samurai without mercy.
"Asuma! When will the Hokage's reinforcements arrive?!" A large monk, hands pressed together, maintained the barrier, sweat pouring down his face.
"I have no idea! My old man isn't Hokage anymore!" Asuma replied, unleashing Fire Jutsu to hold back Manda.
"Damn it! Wasn't Orochimaru once your father's student? Why attack the Daimyo now?!" A man in a blank forehead protector yelled.
"This isn't the time for that! He became a rogue years ago—the village has been hunting him ever since!"
"Enough! I can't hold the barrier much longer!" the monk gritted his teeth.
"Chiriku! Drop the barrier and recover chakra. The rest, hold the line! We can't let him harm the Daimyo or the young lord!" Asuma shouted.
The golden barrier shattered. Chiriku collapsed, and the remaining defenders rushed forward.
Four ninja, cloaked in lightning, charged at Orochimaru and Manda, forming hand seals.
"Lightning Style: Dreaming Thunder Prison!"
The four combined their chakra, conjuring a lightning cage over Orochimaru and Manda.
"A combination jutsu?" Orochimaru looked up at the cage, then locked eyes with the nearest user. "Impressive, but I can't let you finish."
A giant snake burst from the ground, swallowed one user whole, and the cage dissolved.
"Seito!" Asuma shouted, trying to help, but a massive earth dragon rose and fired chakra projectiles at him.
"Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bomb!"
"Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere!"
Orochimaru unleashed jutsu after jutsu, facing the elite Guardian Twelve with ease. One by one, the defenders fell to jutsu and fangs. Soon, only Asuma and Kazuma remained, exhausted.
"It's over," Orochimaru declared, forming seals. "Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bomb!"
A colossal earth dragon, rivaling Manda in size, rose from the ground, gathering a terrifying earth chakra energy orb in its mouth.
With a roar, the orb fired at the last standing building as Asuma and Kazuma watched in despair.
But in the next instant, thunder rumbled from the sky, and a bolt of blue lightning shattered the dragon's attack.
