Naruto: I become Jinchūriki and Ophis is sealed on me!

Chapter 76: Xin's Trust

Because of the war, many Anbu and Root members had been sent to the front lines by Danzo, leaving fewer ninja to watch over Kushina. Only one ANBU member remained, keeping a distant watch.

As they sat on the park bench, Xin made sure the ANBU was far enough away before turning to Kushina.

"Kushina, do you trust me?" he asked seriously.

"Of course, I do!" Kushina blurted out without hesitation.

"Don't get too worked up-just act normal."

Xin cautioned her, waiting until she calmed down before continuing. "Since you trust me, there's something I need to tell you. I know who you really are your full identity."

Kushina's smile froze. It felt as if someone had just hit her over the head with a hammer, leaving her mind reeling.

Xin knows the truth about me? But how? Could it have been Tsunade?

"It's something I figured out on my own-it has nothing to do with Tsunade,"

Xin clarified, noticing the worry in her eyes. "Don't worry, I'm not going to distance myself from you just because of that big fox inside you. No matter what, Kushina, you're my friend. That won't ever change."

"I..." Kushina's eyes filled with tears, and she bit her lip to stop herself from crying.

She'd always feared that if Xin found out who she really was, he'd push her away. So, she'd gone to great lengths to hide it.

Every time the Nine Tails' chakra corroded the seal, Kushina suffered through the pain alone. She never dared go near Xin when it happened, afraid he'd discover the truth.

In the end, Xin had figured it out anyway. But instead of rejecting her, he was accepting her.

"Don't cry. If you do, that Anbu over there will know something's up. He'll report it to the Hokage, and that'll mean trouble for me," Xin gently reminded her.

"I'm not crying-I'm just happy," Kushina insisted, forcing a smile as she quickly wiped away her tears.

It took a while for her to regain her composure. Once she did, she looked up at Xin with curiosity. "When did you figure it out?"

"From the start when you transferred into my class and sat next to me, the smell of that big fox was all over you," Xin replied with a teasing smile.

"Roar!! I'm going to eat him! Eat him! That little brat!" came the enraged growl of the Nine- Tails.

Whether it was because Kushina was feeling nervous or something else, the seal had loosened slightly, allowing the fox to see what was happening outside.

And Xin's remark had pushed the fox over the edge.

"So you're saying that Kushina's identity as a Jinchuriki was discovered because she smells like a fox?" The Nine-Tails processed this information in its own way.

What do foxes smell like?

Probably like fox stench!

After jumping to that conclusion, the Nine-Tails lost it, roaring furiously that it would devour Xin.

The Nine-Tails' struggles sent waves of searing heat and sharp pain through Kushina's abdomen, making her wince.

"You go ahead and deal with that," Xin said calmly, recognizing the situation.

"I'm not in a rush."

"Stupid fox! Calm down!" Kushina snapped, her patience wearing thin.

What's your problem anyway?

"That brat dared to say I stink like a fox! I'll eat him!" the Nine-Tails growled in her mind.

Are you serious right now?

Or just plain dumb?

In her mind's eye, Kushina stared incredulously at the raging beast. When did Xin ever say you stink?

You're just making stuff up, you smelly old fox!

"Roar!!" the Nine-Tails howled in frustration.

Kushina wasn't having it anymore. She crossed her arms, glaring, as she controlled the Adamantine Chains, using them like whips to lash at the beast.

"I'm going to eat you! Eat you!!" the Nine-Tails roared in a fury.

It had been sealed away for decades, and even Mito Uzumaki hadn't treated it like this. Now Kushina was using her chains to whip it into submission?
