Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Big Move Missed
Qin Yu's quiet voice swept through the battlefield like a hurricane.
Arrogance?
Or insanity?
To the assembled shinobi of Kumogakure—and even the Konoha forces—it was undoubtedly the latter.
The odds were overwhelming. Kumogakure had the numbers, the terrain, and the A-B Combo, one of the most feared duos in history.
Yet, Qin Yu spoke as if they were nothing.
This was a direct insult to Kumogakure's pride.
"This brat is delusional," one of the Kumogakure jonin scoffed. "Let's see how he 'kills us all.'"
"Hmph. End him now. Let him understand the difference between us."
"A mere Chūnin dares to act this way? The first rule of battle is knowing your place!"
"Kill him!"
One of the Kumogakure shinobi roared, drawing a kunai and rushing forward.
The others followed instantly.
Seven shinobi surged toward Qin Yu with blinding speed, moving like a well-trained assassination squad.
"Qin Yu, watch out!" Shizune's voice trembled with urgency.
But beside her, Yūyue Cangwu's eyes narrowed in shock.
Qin Yu wasn't moving.
He stood his ground, hands flashing through a rapid sequence of seals with inhuman precision.
"That—That's my jutsu!" Inuzuka Fū gasped.
"He's using Lightning Release: Thunderclap!" Yūyue Cangwu's voice tightened.
"Is he crazy? That technique requires pinpoint chakra control!"
BOOM!
A low rumble echoed from the sky.
Qin Yu's hands stopped mid-seal.
"Lightning Release: Thunderclap!"
CRACK!
Seven bolts of lightning erupted from the heavens.
Seven streaks of blue death.
Before anyone could react—
BOOM!
The ground exploded.
The seven advancing Kumogakure shinobi were swallowed in an instant.
The sheer force sent shockwaves rippling through the canyon, splintering the earth and leaving a gaping crater seven meters wide.
The battlefield froze.
The glow of blue lightning flickered against the stunned faces of everyone present.
When the dust settled, the results were undeniable—
Seven motionless bodies.
Some were charred beyond recognition. Others had their limbs twisted at unnatural angles.
Not a single one left standing.
"This… what kind of Ninjutsu is this?" one Kumogakure shinobi whispered in horror.
"That was an A-rank Lightning Release technique! Even veteran jonin can only control three strikes at best…"
"But this kid… He controlled seven. Perfectly. Simultaneously."
"This guy is dangerous! Don't let him do that again! Scatter!"
The battlefield, once filled with arrogant confidence, descended into chaos.
Moments ago, they had dismissed Qin Yu as insignificant.
Now, he had annihilated seven shinobi in an instant.
But Konoha's forces were even more shaken.
They knew Qin Yu had only begun learning Thunderclap three days ago.
And yet, in that short time, not only had he mastered it—he had surpassed even its creator.
He understood its essence.
He didn't just cast the jutsu—he refined it to perfection.
Even A, standing atop the cliffs, narrowed his eyes.
"Tch. Don't panic," the future Fourth Raikage muttered. "The kid's just a no-name Chūnin. Probably some lightning talent who stumbled onto the right technique."
He turned to a masked Kumogakure shinobi.
"Sato, use Lightning Body Flicker and take him out. I want him alive."
Sato nodded and vanished.
But before he could land—
FWOOSH!
A wave of scorching heat exploded outward.
Qin Yu's hands blurred through another set of seals.
The chakra in the air shifted.
This time, it burned.
Sato's body froze mid-step.
His eyes widened.
No… It couldn't be.
Qin Yu exhaled.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu."
ROAR!
A colossal fireball—at least thirty meters wide—blazed into existence.
A miniature sun.
The battlefield erupted in flames.
Kumogakure shinobi scattered in terror.
"This—this isn't a Fireball Jutsu!"
"Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Fireballs aren't this big!"
WHOOSH!
The fireball surged forward, incinerating everything in its path.
Boulders? Turned to ash.
Trees? Instantly obliterated.
The heat alone sent Kumogakure shinobi stumbling backward, shielding their faces.
Even A and Killer B—the two strongest warriors present—flinched.
For a moment, the battlefield stood still.
And then—
BOOM!
The fireball detonated midair.
The night sky erupted in flames.
Sparks cascaded down like a meteor shower.
Beautiful. Deadly. Terrifying.
The battlefield fell into stunned silence.
Some Kumogakure shinobi had dropped their weapons.
Others had taken steps back, shaken.
It was low-level Ninjutsu…
Yet its power was on par with S-rank techniques.
If that fireball had hit them directly—
None of them would be standing.
"Tch." A clicked his tongue, hiding his irritation.
"Hmph. Bluffing brat," he muttered loud enough for his forces to hear. "Clearly, he lost control of his chakra. That's why the jutsu went wild."
He crossed his arms.
"This is why raw power isn't everything."
"Even the strongest attack is useless if it doesn't hit."
Slowly, the Kumogakure forces regained their composure.
"Lord A is right! He's just throwing out powerful jutsu without precision."
"Look at him—he's already wasted two jutsu. He's probably almost out of chakra."
"If we endure one more attack, he's finished!"
Kumogakure shinobi straightened up, confidence returning.
Yet, across the battlefield—
Konoha's forces stood frozen.
"He—He missed that fireball on purpose."
"That wasn't a mistake. That was a warning."
Yūyue Cangwu clenched his fists.
"Qin Yu… just what kind of monster have we been fighting alongside?"
A murmur spread through the Konoha ranks.
They had all witnessed the rise of a legend before—
The Yellow Flash, Minato Namikaze.
Could this be the birth of another?
