Naruto: I Can Synthesize Summoning Beasts

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Early Graduation?

"I know you mean well, Rino-sensei, but I know my own situation. I'm really not ready to venture out into the ninja world..." Shangguan Mo continued to refuse politely.

Are you kidding me? I finally found a place like the Ninja Academy to lie low and develop, and now you want me to graduate early? Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

He gritted his teeth inwardly. He would never graduate early, not in this lifetime. In his memory of the original story, those who graduated early were all geniuses or monsters! The twelve-year-old Jonin Kakashi, the thirteen-year-old Itachi who opened his Mangekyo...

But prodigies never had a good end. They fell from grace, went mad, or committed suicide. The consequence of early fame was an immature mind. Possessing great power too early often led to extreme ideologies, making them targets for manipulation and causing them to go down the wrong path.

He himself only had a dual-attribute ninja talent. In his own opinion, his chakra cultivation talent was average, far from comparable to the famous geniuses of Konoha. More importantly, the only thing backing him was the tiny village of Yugakure, which couldn't provide any real support. And he was just a ninja without even a kekkei genkai. Besides his synthesis system, he was in no way comparable to those geniuses.

And now someone wanted him to graduate early? What a joke!

Though he was internally cursing his instructor for his well-intentioned but misguided idea, he maintained a helpless expression. "It's not that I don't want to graduate early. My strength relies entirely on my summoning beasts. You saw that big guy in the yard, Uncle Rino. That's my latest creation..." he explained.

But there was one sentence he left unsaid. "Rino-sensei, my path and yours are not the same!"

"Sigh!" Inoshita Rino sighed helplessly, not knowing what to say. This incredibly mature child also had an incredibly firm will and a clear direction for his future. This left him feeling both helpless and relieved.

He shook his head. "I understand. I was quite shocked by that big guy in the yard when I came in. Such a big bird, I really don't know where you found it!"

"Chirp, chirp, chirp!" At that moment, the Windhawk outside let out a dissatisfied screech.

Shangguan Mo's face twitched slightly. He turned to the surprised instructor and translated, "He said he's the noble Eagle King. You're the bird. Your whole family are birds!"

Inoshita Rino: "..." Well, I don't know if it's an Eagle King, but its arrogance is definitely king-level.

"Tsk, tsk... for it to be so intelligent and human-like, it's truly a good partner," he said, looking at Shangguan Mo with envy.

Shangguan Mo could only give a shy smile.

Seeing that his instructor was about to leave, he remembered something and quickly called him back. "What is it?" he asked, turning around with a puzzled look.

"Ahem! It's nothing, Uncle Rino. I just wanted to learn some ninjutsu from you!"

Inoshita Rino was taken aback, then quickly realized. He laughed and scolded, "So you had your eyes on my jutsu all along! No wonder you didn't want to graduate early!"

"Hehehe..." Shangguan Mo just scratched his head and giggled. Learn ninjutsu without having to go on dangerous missions? Of course he didn't want to graduate.

"Our village doesn't have a rule against privately teaching ninjutsu, but generally, we don't teach them to academy students. They're too young, haven't been tempered by the ninja world, and their minds aren't mature enough. Mastering ninjutsu is a potential danger to themselves, their classmates, and even the villagers. To ensure the students' safety, we usually have their squad leaders teach them after graduation..."

"Alright, alright! Uncle Rino, just get to the point! What's with all the rambling!" Shangguan Mo interrupted impatiently. He felt that a squad leader would never teach their real trump cards. What was the point of learning that?

"Hey, what's with your tone! So disrespectful!" Inoshita Rino glared at him, dissatisfied.

Shangguan Mo rolled his eyes, showing no intention of apologizing. Towards his instructor, whom he truly respected and was the only one he recognized in the ninja world, he had never known the meaning of politeness. But his instructor actually appreciated this. He had no children of his own, and he found Shangguan Mo's familiar attitude quite endearing.

"I don't know many ninjutsu. What do you want to learn? By the way, I still don't know what your chakra natures are," he said curiously.

"Wind and Fire. Uncle Rino, just teach me everything you know that I can use..." Shangguan Mo said nonchalantly.

Inoshita Rino, however, frowned slightly. "I don't have Wind or Fire affinities..."

Now it was Shangguan Mo's turn to be disappointed. He looked at him in disbelief. "No way! Uncle Rino, you're not pulling my leg, are you!"

"Why would I lie to you!" He wished he could smack the disrespectful brat. He then said irritably, "I have an Earth-attribute affinity. I do know a few Earth Style ninjutsu."

"Sigh..." Shangguan Mo was helpless, but he still hadn't given up hope. "Then the Three Basic Jutsu should be fine, right!"

"You don't need to rush me on that. I'll be teaching it to the whole class at the beginning of the fourth year..." he said with a sly look.

"I'll be d—" Shangguan Mo started to curse, but remembering there was an elder present, he gritted his teeth and held back the rest.

"Hahaha..." Seeing his frustrated look, Inoshita Rino couldn't help but laugh. After a while, he finally stopped, but his eyes were still full of amusement. "Alright, alright, don't be so anxious. I've been a ninja for so many years. My strength isn't much to speak of, but I do have some connections. I'll go and ask around for you!"

Hearing this, Shangguan Mo was taken aback and fell silent. He hadn't expected his instructor to be willing to swallow his pride and ask others for Wind and Fire jutsu for him. He was an old man, and while he had connections, using them for his sake... Shangguan Mo would owe him a great debt.

"It's fine. Seeing talented young people like you in the village makes me happy, teacher. My old teammates and colleagues feel the same way..." he said softly. Seeing Shangguan Mo fall silent, as someone who had been through it all, how could he not know what he was thinking?

"Yes... thank you, Uncle Rino..." Faced with the elder's genuine care, even his thank you felt a little unnatural.
